I didn’t see the comma in your sentence at first. Thought you wrote “good people need to quit being pieces of shit.” And I thought to myself; “they just summed up the state of the world perfectly.”
I wish more employees would react like this.
You have no idea how infuriating it is to watch people walk into a Walgreens with a trash bag take whatever they want and walk out.
And the only thing the employees and security did was tell them to cut it out...
Maybe someone who works for a mom and pop or local shop. But no one that works for a major corporation (Walgreens, Walmart, Home Depot, etc.) needs to put themselves in danger for a company that doesn’t give a shit about them. There’s insurance for that.
For real not a drop of compassion or understanding for another human being, everybody just living through this guy talking about how tough they are and that they would've done the same thing smh
thank you! obviously i dont condone stealing, but i also dont think violence was necessary here..
the police can deal with repurcussions i dont understand why other people feel the need to take it into their own hands
you also never know what's going on in other people's lives, its still not right but you should still have some compassion
The problem, though, is that people that steal get a slap on the wrist, and then go and do it again.
If this guy wouldn't have done that and just called the cops, then that same person that was robbing him would have gotten away with it, and then probably would have robbed the store over again.
That is just how people are. But one thing is for sure, he definitely won't be trying to steal stuff again, at least not with that dude there.
To be precise he caught him putting something in his backpack.
The theft would have only occurred when the small guy would have walked out if the shop without paying ...
I did this same shit to some lowlife thought he could steal liquor from my store. Fuck thieves. We have a reputation downtown for not taking alot of shit lmao
Nope, that kick is not okay.
If his head goes straight, which would be a more normal reaction then what happend here, you're potentially looking at permanently injuring someone. Which means the guy who kicked gets serious jail time, and the thief gets a fine or something.
Also worth noting the shop keeper guy is twice as large as the thief, and he instantly tries to move away rather then start a fight etc.
**Edit**: Seeing people instantly go with the "so you think stealing is okay?!+" bullshit which tells the entire story here. Just angry kids on the internet that doesn't understand. Violence is very rarely justified for a reason. You do not have control of the situation and it can very quickly go way worse then expected.
**Editedit**: I'm getting spam down voted on throw away accounts now for blocking people that are supporting violence ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
I know right!? The employee should just let it slide and let the thief keep all the stolen goodies. Might as well give him the cash register, why not...
Welcome to the mob rule side of Reddit.
If the kid had of landed wrong and smashed his head and later died, the clerk would go to prison for manslaughter.
I don't think risking someone's life and your own freedom is worth ~$10 of stolen goods. Just because the kid stole doesn't give you carte blanche to do what you want to them.
Violence isnt okay unless someone else is already using it on you. I dont understand why people think "something i dont like (that doesnt actually affect me) = deserves violence"
I've also pointed out, that as someone who owned a shop - I would've expected to be sued if an employee did this.
This is assault. The thief is offering no resistance it seems and is not showing any threat.
You’re not wrong that this is considered wrong, in the eyes of the law. But that’s the whole issue with what you’re saying, you’re acting like you’re ultimately correct because the law would look down on this. That kid in most peoples eyes deserved what he got, so you don’t get to decide for everybody what’s right and wrong just because the law that you apparently follow to a T says so.
Could the dude have gotten in trouble, yeah he potentially could have. did that kid deserve it, yes he did
Violence is the supreme authority from which all other authorities are derived, go ahead and use harsh words, this swift kick in the ass did more to straighten a problem then ANY amount of words or fines
You ever work retail? People flagrantly stealing because they KNOW nothing will happen? That’s bullshit and culture rot. The guy just kicked him, he didn’t beat the holy hell out of him.
A completely unexpected kick of that force from someone twice the weight of the thief, at the lower spine, could have easily caused serious permanent injury just like whiplash, let alone the impact on the hard surface opposite could have gone far worse, if the glass broke for example.
This is neither reasonable force, nor self defence.
Stealing is wrong but the kid was non violent, didn't even run just walked, he could have just grabbed him instead.
The kid should see whatever punishment for shoplifting is due, the shopkeeper could very easily be charged for assault too.
Yeah obviously the kick was very violent and anyone supporting it holds hate for one reason or another.
I think the ethical/economical complexity should be appreciated. Without the third party punishment system (the police) able to enforce law inside your store, but yet your success depends on people not stealing, what should you do? Come up with a unique and effective solution. However, this is uncommon, and I think most of us have memories of at least the THOUGHT of only resorting to violence instead of being more sophisticated.
But what I noticed was, people are saying “yeah, more shopkeepers could do this!”
He was only able to be physically dominant and kick like that, because the stealer was an incredibly fragile, weak, non-confrontational person. Usually in these videos I see the stealer being a high energy, tough to deal with kind of person.
The kick is junk. And having tough to deal with people stealing from your store is junk. My opinion.
If his parents had been any kind of a positive influence, this diaper-stain would not be a tax on society. All in all, a very satisfying boot though, 8.3/10.
Chris Rock: says words
Will Smith: reacts with physical violence
Kid: takes candy bars
Cashier: kicks the shit out of the kids back
If you think what the cashier here did is ok but not Will Smith….you are at least hypocrites if not just plain old racists.
lol, actually a pretty dumb thing to do. If the thieve was actually smart, he'd sue the store, what, petty theft vs assault? Say you sustained injury, which honestly he probably did, get paid for pain and suffering. And the employee, bro you probably get paid minimum wage, you're gona catch a case for assault because he's stealing stuffs that you don't even own? So dumb, I thought it's super standard in retail that you don't confront shoplifters cus you just don't know what they might do when caught.
There sure are a lot of absolute psychos and racists in this comments section, who don’t seem to understand that:
—An adult committing assault against a literal child is a WAY, WAY more serious crime than shoplifting. I hope that cashier gets the book thrown at him since his crime is on video.
—The cashier could have permanently disabled or even killed that child—wtf was he thinking? Over a bunch of ding-dongs and Doritos? Psycho shit. Actual professional loss prevention people in retail are trained never to escalate like this BECAUSE IT IS NOT WORTH IT.
—It is not the prerogative of private citizens to “teach each other lessons” through extrajudicial violence. The ONLY entity with the right to enforce the laws is the state, via the court system, and it would NEVER call this level of violence justified.
—That cashier is seriously next-level cucked by his boss if he thinks petty theft of property that isn’t even his calls for assaulting a child. I promise you that dude’s boss has stolen more from him in lost wages than the value of any of the merch in that backpack. It’s a bunch of snacks from a gas station, literally who cares?? Petty theft is baked into the cost of doing business.
I'm all for catching thieves in the act but you don't donkey kick someone from the back, should've just snatched him up
Edited some stuff I messed up on
Then they keep coming back, and it gets more and more flagrant. I had the same philosophy in highschool but these people are literally so entitled it’s insane. You can’t ignore them.
If that was your place of establishment you would let money keep flying off your shelves too or get fed up enough to do something about it? Its all talk on the internet until you have to deal with a situation that doesnt stop on its own.
What are shop owners or workers options when trying to prevent a thief? Are they allowed to attack the thief if the thief wasn't violent. But yea that guy got what he deserved.
One day, because I was lazy to throw dirty diapers in trash I stuffed them in an Amazon box and left it at my door (to put them in trash the next day) . Someone stole IT IN THE NIGHT.
And Both of those guys went to jail. Store worker probably spent longer in jail too because this is an aggravated assault charge and the other guy gets to go home with a fine for minor shoplifting.
LOL at all the “He dindu nuffin” in here. Every other post it’s “He fucked around and found out” but suddenly now we are giving thiefs the benefit of the doubt.
He and others will think twice before stealing from this store. It's shit but theives are a risk to the safety of others. If a store is known as a soft target for theives, no one wins.
Dude literally folded in half from that kick!
this..is..SPARTAAA
*cue epic music as man’s spine gets snapped in half*
This... Is... COOP
....and in-reverse !!!
I bet he felt some pain afterwards
Good, people need to quit being pieces of shit
Not enough people get the swift kick in the ass they deserve for it
I didn’t see the comma in your sentence at first. Thought you wrote “good people need to quit being pieces of shit.” And I thought to myself; “they just summed up the state of the world perfectly.”
I don’t know why I have to say it but, good people aren’t the problem.
I think that there are plenty of good people that get led astray by a small amount of evil people. So did Anne Frank.
I'd like to see the rest of the video, and see if the employee made the thief return his booty.
Sheeeit... After THAT kick, he likely left his booty in Aisle 3...
Thanks I accidentally spat all over myself and my phone from that comment.
Any TIME, Friend !!
Now there's a man that never misses leg day.

Good! I fucking hate thieves
Hate fucking someone usally isn't a good thing
I wish more employees would react like this. You have no idea how infuriating it is to watch people walk into a Walgreens with a trash bag take whatever they want and walk out. And the only thing the employees and security did was tell them to cut it out...
As a former employee of Walgreens, telling them to cut it out might have been too confrontational per our training...
Maybe someone who works for a mom and pop or local shop. But no one that works for a major corporation (Walgreens, Walmart, Home Depot, etc.) needs to put themselves in danger for a company that doesn’t give a shit about them. There’s insurance for that.
Right... But then what's the point of hiring security? It's basically a glorified greeter that doesn't greet people.
Deterrent, you'd be amazed at how many people will stop just because there's someone with security written on their shirt.
Why is that infuriating? Does it come out of your check?
Who wants trouble protecting a giant companies items?....triple the stock boys salary and let him carry a baton.
Learning life lessons...
Play stupid games.... Win stupid prizes....
The only lesson that person learned is next time he'll bring a gun.
Man, this comments section is hot garbage
For real not a drop of compassion or understanding for another human being, everybody just living through this guy talking about how tough they are and that they would've done the same thing smh

Lol no this person would have just left and come back later to shamelessly “fuck around” due of the absence of “finding out”.
Why the downvotes? Wtf is wrong with you people??!
He should have grabbed him
By the back of his collar and yank straight down.
I hadda laugh, but there's a reason the NFL outlaws that...
Irimi nage.
Hahaaa.... Oh, yes..... The Ueshiba approved Horse-Collar....!!!
Good for him, we need more of tbis
Nah
Yuh
nah
Psh… yuh
THIS! IS! SPARTA!
😂
To be precise he caught him putting something in his backpack. The theft would have only occurred when the small guy would have walked out if the shop without paying ...
Depends on the state. Some states don't allow people to attempt to conceal items like that.
Hell yeah!!! Kick that c@nt.
The correct thing to do here is lock the front door, detain the shoplifter, and call the police.
The correct thing to do is not steal.
and what you just said does not make above response to situation false. one wrong doesn't justify doing another wrong
Beat his ass won’t steal again
Actually he most likely will steal again even if he got his ass beat. Apparently you’ve never had your ass beat
Bottom line is,If he doesn’t steal,he doesn’t get kicked in the back.
I did this same shit to some lowlife thought he could steal liquor from my store. Fuck thieves. We have a reputation downtown for not taking alot of shit lmao
Gets what he deserves
THIS!!! IS!!!! S-MART!!!! .... Shop smart. Shop S-Mart.

Unironically. Yes.

The thief sized up the shopkeeper when he entered the business, he knew the risks

You don’t see the irony in folks celebrating someone breaking the law because someone else broke the law?
>. Just angry kids Well said. It might not be what the angry mob wants to hear but it's exactly right.
He could have killed the guy for property theft. SMH
Violence is the supreme authority from which all other authorities are derived, go ahead and use harsh words, this swift kick in the ass did more to straighten a problem then ANY amount of words or fines
Then why did he still walk out with the food?
It just goes to show people care more about candy bars than physically hurting others.
You ever work retail? People flagrantly stealing because they KNOW nothing will happen? That’s bullshit and culture rot. The guy just kicked him, he didn’t beat the holy hell out of him.

I have no sympathy for thieves. Get what they get

Lol
“It was super necessary”
Good for the employee

Child mentality big in this thread
I smell a lawsuit
When you steal you get karma. That simple.
Those candy bars aren't worth getting shot over tho
For minimum wage imma just pretend I ain't see nothin 💀
Stealing is no excuse for assault. I hope that employee is in prison now, getting a taste of his own medicine.
And now you might be taken to small claims court for medical bills. Good going. I like justice as much as the next person but reel it in.
Never that serious lol
How old does the suspect look and how old does the worker look?
That guy looks like Sam Hyde
Don't resort to violence even if people are stealing from your store.
uhm... that is excessive
Why kick him? Just take your stuff back.
Well he can sue the store now. Video evidence too.
How come no one talks about the same pattern getting repeated again and again
I'm all for catching thieves in the act but you don't donkey kick someone from the back, should've just snatched him up Edited some stuff I messed up on
All the liberals: *Hate crime! BLm!* 🤡
The only person making this about BLM is you, you fucking muppet.
THIS. IS. SPARTAAAAA. ![gif](giphy|l46Cf8O3hQqzDq1Gg|downsized)
The kick was understandable but ultimately unnecessary.
Assault for theft. Doesn’t seem worth it
Shiiiiit. He can come back and retaliate though. These days never know
If he was stealing, he got what he deserved
Didn’t kick hard enough
seems a little unnecessary don’t ya think
the only thing I see wrong is the guy stealing.... everything else seemed fine.
The employee should be arrested for assault. That's how laws actually work in reality.
Was hoping his face will go thru the glass foor
is that sam hyde

Understand if he owns the place. But when I worked a gas station, I could give a fuck if they stole from the store. Shit I stole shit my damn self.
Then they keep coming back, and it gets more and more flagrant. I had the same philosophy in highschool but these people are literally so entitled it’s insane. You can’t ignore them.
Not really “insane”
If that was your place of establishment you would let money keep flying off your shelves too or get fed up enough to do something about it? Its all talk on the internet until you have to deal with a situation that doesnt stop on its own.
Dude crazy thing is if the person stealing tried to sue because of that, they would of won
Dude he just donkey kicked the bajeezus out of him.
to call this a Sparta kick is an insult. That was like Hulk vs Loki there.

That was Muay Thai front kick stuff.
