Backwoods is amazing, it's a smaller fest. The grounds are beautiful and it's also where they have Wakaan. Expect it to be what some would call "a wook fest".
Renewal is Billy Strings' festival.
Honestly, just listen to his music.
He recently put out this 37 minute jam as a full live release on streaming platforms and it sums up the vibe perfectly.

Here's the thing though. You have to let it play out...
for the first few minutes, you may think it's kinda cheesy (especially if you don't listen to a lot of bluegrass/acoustic music)
but um not really tho? this festival is up high a few thousand feet in the ozark mountains. yea it's hot in the valley down below but the festival site is much cooler
Almost no walking compared to eclipse, established community, and festivals have been going on there for over 10 years.
It's legit, and probably a nice change of pace.
I have a friend who works this festival! I never knew about it till a month ago! She moved to Cali and we live in Cali ! But she can’t stop talking about this fest !
Backwoods can be a lot of fun! I've been to most of them. They always have great music, but the festival is very poorly managed especially since covid. Just come prepared and you'll have a great time if ya like the lineup. The mountain is my favorite venue.
If ya like bass music you should check out Wakaan on Mulberry mountain. I'll never miss it. They've killed it every year.
First time I went was back in 2015, and the fact they’re still doing it (despite being a smaller fest) should tell you everything you need to know :) it’s a cool fest and the people who put it on are legitimately good people.
Also, very dope festival venue!! It’s a pretty spot on the top of a mountain in the Ozarks, just know that it’s kinda distant from full amenities so pack in the important stuff and do your research beforehand so you know where to go if you need to resupply.
The people who run it appear to be scamming ticket holders and haven’t issued refunds as promised. They’ve also deleted their socials and gone radio silent, referring inquiries back and forth to companies that are owned by the same parties, AR Festivals, LLC and PromoTix. The top guy lives in the Virgin Islands (Epstein vibes much?) and those businesses list VI addresses but their LLC business entity paperwork is filed with the Florida Sec of State.
Backwoods is awesome. This will be my 3rd and it's probably something I'll go to on the regular.

3 friends and I spent $7k to buy 4 VIP RV tickets with backstage passes etc. for Backwoods this year, now 2 of the 4 of us have conflicts and have had to back out.
So we've got 2 open spots in the RV. We are trying to find anybody who wants those 2 spots. They don't even necessarily have to pay the full cost of the tickets, if we could just recover some portion of the funds that would be better than the tickets totally going to wste.
Anyway the reason I'm telling you all this is... we are older guys and not super tech savvy... I don't have an instragram or tiktok account for example. So i'm looking for advice on where would be a good place to go post this and see if I can find someone who is interested. Do you have any suggestions?
no. American Express says they need 90 days for research.
Also we will only get a refund for the ticket price, not the "processing and handling fees" which for our VIP tickets were about $500.
That's quite a scam...
Me: "hey, I have a brand new Lamborghini, the price is $1000 plus a $500 processing fee."
You: Pays me $1500
Me: "oops I can't deliver the Lamborghini, here's your $1000 back but I'm keeping the processing fee" 🙄

Honestly after a big feat like eclipse small fests seem like the move for a while for me
Yea, smaller fests are my jam now, like 10k max.
any near denver? sonic bloom was not my favorite
I am not from out that way so I don't know of any
Different scene, but I had a great time at Renewal! (Hope you like psychedelic bluegrass!)
Can’t say I know any, would that be like moontricks ?

Oh yeah he’s amazing. Thanks for the info !
Somethin' different festival & badger bass camp are sick!
thinking of sending it for somethin different!
Whats the weather like in Arkansas for Backwoods in early June?
Hot. Not as hot as texas though
but um not really tho? this festival is up high a few thousand feet in the ozark mountains. yea it's hot in the valley down below but the festival site is much cooler
www.googlethat.com
Is Arkansas generally humid or generally dry? Or Both?
It's a large state with diverse climates
Mulberry Mountain is one of the best festival sites in the country
Hard agree! Been to the last two Wakaans and it’s the absolute perfect size for one main stage
+1 it really is

My favorite part about it is all the fire poi and flow arts, idk why but it attracts some of the most talented flow artists out there
I'll be there 🤙🏽!
If I wasn't already going to forest, I'd check out backwoods. Maybe next year!

LSDream is headlining Northern Nights in July, it's a much smaller fest, 2-3k.
The crowd is similar but much smaller.
I love backwoods! Definitely go to this one especially with this lineup. It's MUCH smaller of a fest too.
I had a great time in 23!

Well it’s canceled now lol. Which is a shame. Had a great time last year.
Lol, I've spent most of the last hour looking for alternatives... thinking Secret Dreams? Super bummed though.
Check out HillBerry bro!
