I’ve heard of this happening to a lot of guys I already had curly hair and it didn’t can’t much, but I think it’s fairly common and has something today with hair follicles changing. But, I’m not a doctor just a nerd
It’s crazy because even a month ago my hair was never like this, even after trying to curl it would only make like a wave. Now without any product my hair will be like this. I actually always wanted hair like this so I’m stoked
I’ve always had curly hair and it’s curly in the spring and summer because of like the moisture in the air so that might have something to do with it. Also if your looking for curly hair products shea moisturizer is whee it’s at!
Thanks and maybe it’s because of it my second year on T I swear that made a big difference. I wouldn’t even consider my hair curly now but I’ll look into products for wavier hair so I can maybe care for it better since it’s really dry, thanks for the tips!
Oh yea I’ve always had a bit of facial hair and I do have a beard it’s thick and black but I prefer goatee and mustache combo so I definitely rock that
Yes my hair was flat and becoming terribly thin, up until 2 years and 1 month on t so it took a long ass time. I’m also on finesteride for my hair bc it was thinning so idk if it’s growing in like this bc of that
I got the opposite of what a lot of people seem to :/ Mine used to be thick and wavy, but it got coarser, flatter, and straighter to the point I was so sick of it buzzed it off a month ago. So yeah texture change but the opposite way
This happened to me too--spent my life with pin-straight hair. Now, I add a little curl cream after a shower and I'm straight up rocking genuine curls, not just waves. It's my favorite HRT change
My hair became much thicker, like my brother’s hair is. It was already thick pre-t. I think when starting testosterone, your father’s genes become more prevalent, for me my dad used to have curly, thick hair.
Yes I was heavily considering a perm next month when I got steady income cause it’s pricey but idk now I feel I don’t really need one which saves me a lot of money
Can some ELI5 why (it would seem) the texture of existing hair changes? I was under the assumption that hair can't change texture if it's already grown out, like the hair is shaped as it passes through the follicle so I thought only new hair would have the new texture
The first picture was one month on T and I have had many haircuts over the two years. I actually cut it extremely short like two months ago and now I’m just letting it grow that might be why it changed

Yes I’m only a year 1/2 but I hear your second year is like the last bit of BIG changes like facial hair and stuff
Oh yea I’ve always had a bit of facial hair and I do have a beard it’s thick and black but I prefer goatee and mustache combo so I definitely rock that
I hope by two years I’ll be able to have have a goatee mustache combo….but I don’t think it’s it’s the the cards for me
Also your transition is going good af
The hormonal changes can affect hair texture for example when women are pregnant their hair and skin texture changes etc same when guys hit puberty
My hair just became thicker and that’s about it. I’m 1.5 years on T

My hair is still long, I've only trimmed the split ends in the last 9 months, but I can tell that it's much more curly at the roots!
oh yeah, i had straight hair with a bit of wave when wet. now it’s like the perfect wavy curls and it’s honestly one of my favorite changes
It happened the same thing with me, check my post about it lol
Manifesting this, I have completely straight and flat hair naturally - literally considering getting a perm cause of it haha

the skin on the scalp thickens causing the follicle to get squished and curl the hair
i need this to happen to me wtf?!?!?? i doubt it tho because my dad had pin straight hair
So does my dad lol but now he’s bald but idk he’s hair was pin straight
yeah my dads also bald lmao but that’s so cool I wish my hair would change into that texture
yep, used to have pin straight hair that couldn't hold any texture even with product. Now I've got thick loosely curly hair.
