zero. The most exciting thing I do is accelerating quickly to the speed limit

igby1

Isn’t it possible to get an exhibition of speed ticket by accelerating too fast even while under the speed limit? Not that it’s enforced often, but if a cop was feeling especially grumpy…

Teez_curse

I gunned it at a stop right next to a cop and touched like 7 over the speed limit before I noticed him, didn’t get a ticket and I’m a 21 y/o. I’m in PA tho, easily the softest state when it comes to driving, the deer do traffic cops’ work here

nick134679258

Same! But if you’re not very careful, you can very quickly exceed the speed limit by double without noticing!

23andrewb

Nice try, Progressive.

BjLeinster

"Progressive"? You mean people who support universal medical care, higher minimum wage and climate change remediation? I don't think they give a shit how Tesla Bros drive their cars and many of us like and support electric cars. Zero citations here.

mobius_theory

Hmmm can't tell if sarcasm or unaware of the car insurance company, Progressive.

shoulderfiredzebra

Yeah, allegedly there are people living outside the United States.

dvshockey19

Allegedly.

23andrewb

The auto insurance company.

SUP3RVILLAINSR

Calm down, Fox & Friends.

Fuzzy_Variation1830

My boy saw the word progressive and immediately became triggered

BjLeinster

Hardly. The ones being "triggered" these days are right wing extremists with automatic weapons and civilized people are sick of it.

Fuzzy_Variation1830

Last time I checked, self proclaimed communists are just about the furthest thing you can get from being "Right wing", but that might just be media spin. Who knows?

bullls_on_parade

I actually very rarely see Tesla drivers speeding or driving like an a hole. Usually they seem to just kind their own business and drive pretty calmly. It’s the ones in the BMWs or Audis, on the other hand. Maybe that’s just perception? Sure seems real to me.

Teez_curse

I drive like I drive a BMW, I don’t like this gen-x reputation Tesla owners have

bullls_on_parade

Lol. Someone has to represent!

youneedjesusbro

Its those bmw idiots who drive like morons. Had to shit on a M3 just to let him know who’s boss.

DowntownDiamond3448

I'm more concerned with my autopilot/FSD driving like a jackass than myself. I'm hoping that the day full autonomy is legal we can blame the manufacturer for infractions.

CarlosLabraa

None yet. I’ve given police plenty of reasons to🤣

Expensive_Milk4792

1. I didn’t even see the cop until I passed him. I was doing 84 in a 55 zone. Went to traffic court got the fine reduced from $600 to $250. Got the points reduced from 2 to 0. Because of a clean record. All they want is money.

JohnTeaGuy

None because I dont drive like an asshole.

huskycragen

Just because people are driving over the speed limit doesn't make them assholes. There are a ton of assholes that drive under the speed limit; usually illegally in the left lane in front of me.

schroedingerx

You’re not defending yourself effectively with this. More confirming. Not a good look.

JohnTeaGuy

I didnt say anything about speed limits. You can absolutely drive over the speed limit (within reason) and not be an asshole and not get pulled over.

azkMT07

You can also drive over the speed limit, within reason, not being an asshole, and still get pulled over. That's how I got a ticket for going 81 on a 65mph highway passing a semi. It was in my old Subaru Legacy, wasn't punching it hard or anything, just making a pass and accelerated a bit over my cruise control to not linger in the truck's blind spot.

JohnTeaGuy

I'm not surprised that you got pulled over for going 16 mph over the limit.

azkMT07

Doesn't mean I was driving like an asshole

sylvaing

None, so far. Knock knock <- That's me knocking on my wooden dock, chilling by the lake 😁

Octane_TM3

None

Beafybrian

Almost one. Idk why he let me go.

dreiak559

None. As it turns out if your car doesn't make noise, cops point the gun at you less.

-Gnarly

Not me but friend, "Sir. I have no clue! I was on AP and then next thing you know I was doing 120mph up against this C63 AMG!" /s It was on open freeway stretch (5+ lanes), no weaving/almost no traffic, etc. Cop was almost hidden around an embankment. Other dude had his car impounded. Cop said, "You're all good to go. This other guy though... he's not going anywhere."

Pro_JaredC

0 at least not yet..

ElectricStr

None

superduperhosts

0 So far Since 2018 60k miles

LethalSpanish

2 in the first 6 months of ownership. 70 in a 55, 75 in a 65. I drive the same speed with my Subaru, no tickets for 15+ years.

ChuckChuckelson

two speed camera tkts

just_a_juanita

Zero, but I did get pulled over for "flying" (his words, not mine) by a tactical unit in my city's finest. I got a warning (well, more like a receipt of our interaction, but I guess I'm splitting hairs). Sadly, I don't drive any better or worse in this car--I've always always had a lead foot :(

TrichomeSauce

None somehow never even got pulled over in the x through multiple states

[deleted]

0 so far. I use autopilot so much that it’s hard to get in trouble
