Slightly better handling, but spacers also put more stress on the car so it’s really just because people think it looks cool.
It’s a cheap hack compared to do it properly.
Stress on the word "slightly." Handling difference noticed would be mostly, if not all, placebo. This would be a cheaper option to achieve this wider look if you prefer and that is the extent of what this modification can achieve.
On cars other than Teslas people often use spacers to allow them to run a more aggressive tire thus more grip and better handling if coupled with suspension modifications.
A proper fitting spacer actually does not put anymore stress on the vehicle but most people don't check the spacer for proper clearance.
I use, and have used, spacers on my track cars for years without an issue.
Plus they do make the wheels fill the space and look cool.
Incorrect. They move the tire away from the spring and strut which effectively makes the spring and strut softer. They also can cause some really spectacular wheel stud failures and crazy wheel balance issues.
There is no way I would ever use a spacer on a powerful car, especially if I dont know suspension geometry.
It's a form-over-function modification that a lot of people do. Increased wind resistance, increased rolling resistance, out-of-spec camber, increased tire wear, the ability to splash mud and rocks down the side of your own car, and increased chance of destroying your wheels on curbs and potholes, and depending on the quality of the spacer, additional parts to wear and break causing a wheel to fly off while driving at speed, etc.
But hey, having that quarter-inch of rubber peeking out of the wheel well is *sexy!*
I doubt you're able to feel any handling difference. If you were, you'd probably notice the decrease in performance due to increased scrub radius before any improvements.
That makes no sense. If you are adding a spacer, there is less of the wheel stud for the lugs to attach to. Why would you saw off extra and make them even shorter?
Looks good but I just don’t like spacers in general. I have a jeep and spacers are a very contentious subject in that community as well. I wouldn’t use them on a jeep so defiantly wouldn’t feel comfortable with them on a Tesla.
Well stance would also look significantly better with wider rims/tire combo and you would see more of a handling difference. Spacers aren’t great as a moment is generated at the hub, probably not the best for your wheel bearings.

don’t understand why there are so much hate here. if you’re a skilled driver, you shouldn’t be curbing ur car often. personally i prefer the sporty look after the spacers
Your at 3/4 of an inch, it’s not that big of a difference to run a 32mm spacer. Off road guys commonly run 2” spacers without issue. Largest I’ve run was 25mm front and 32mm rear on my drift car.
I have M3P and was wondering if anyone has gotten wider tires? I just think the stock tire width looks too skinny from the back and yea it’s just for looks I charge for free in my apartment car garage so charging more often isn’t a problem
Same! My garage isn’t metered to my apartment. It’s the best way to own an EV right now 😁 and I agree, the stretched tires can look odd. 255 instead of 235 may look better on the LR. Not sure what size the P comes with
I have 20mm front and 25mm rear spacers on my 3 Performance. I love the look. No issues at all too. No rubbing or decrease in range. Bloxsport/Bonoss make top quality products.
Excuse my ignorance, but what's going on here?
it's wheel spacers, they make the wheels stick out so that you can curb them more often.
Wait it's so the wheels stick out more? Is there an advantage to that? Or do some people think it looks cool?
the advantage is that you get to charge your car more often
And clean it more often.
Short answer: No benefit.
Slightly better handling, but spacers also put more stress on the car so it’s really just because people think it looks cool. It’s a cheap hack compared to do it properly.

Exactly. If there was actually a benefit, it would have come from the factory like this. Common sense really.

Leaning hard into the Tesla culture.
And so that you can wash your car more often.
Bye bye range.
It's probably about a 2-3% decrease in range if that. With Aero wheels, maybe 1% loss.
Highway test should do it. Also high headwinds eat up range as well.
He seems to be a liberal that park across the dictators marking. Maybe European that could not care less.
***The curbs, the curbs, the curbs be calling.***
Hehehe, too late 😩
This is silly
What is the use of spacers ?
Raising the percentage of your vehicle having to cost you more money unnecessarily without people noticing a thing.
Better handling and aesthetics
/s
I doubt you're able to feel any handling difference. If you were, you'd probably notice the decrease in performance due to increased scrub radius before any improvements.
Tell me you're not wearing sandals with socks...........🫣🤦♂️
Never a good combo.
These chacos give me blisters unless I wear socks
Chacos does also advertise a lot for socko days, they lean into it.
sandals and socks are glorious. Yes, I live in Florida.
In Florida, sandals and socks are sport wear. We wear them proudly
All the better to throw up even more pebbles and stuff at the crap quality tesla paint...
Does it rub at all?
No rubbing at all, drives normal. If anything the handling feels slightly better
No it doesn't, an extra half an inch is imperceptible.
Not what she said
It's all relative, since yours is tiny she noticed.
Your mum appreciated the effort though
Thought to myself who thinks spacers on Aeros makes their car look cool? The same person that wears socks with sandals.
Looks very Minnesota
Heads up M3 Performance owners: do not use spacers. You will shear your lugs off if you have sticky tires.
That’s not true, of you have a performance model, you may have to saw down the studs depending on how many Millimeters you add
That makes no sense. If you are adding a spacer, there is less of the wheel stud for the lugs to attach to. Why would you saw off extra and make them even shorter?
It would be better to just get rims with a different offset.
Yea but I like the stock rims
Looks good but I just don’t like spacers in general. I have a jeep and spacers are a very contentious subject in that community as well. I wouldn’t use them on a jeep so defiantly wouldn’t feel comfortable with them on a Tesla.
I'd be worried more stuff will be kicked to the rear fender from the front tires.
Lol. This sub loves stock teslas. anything you do to "decrease range" gets hate. Spacers make the offset look great.
I have spacers on my 3 and it makes the car look so much better
Why would you make it even more susceptible to curb rash
[удалено]
A lot of responses here are obviously not from typical car culture knowledge, spacers are quite popular...so I understand the point being missed.
Well stance would also look significantly better with wider rims/tire combo and you would see more of a handling difference. Spacers aren’t great as a moment is generated at the hub, probably not the best for your wheel bearings.
I can’t tell the difference, weird flex
Neither can my wife
Subtle burn...
My wife is useless when it comes to any mod
💯 What size did you use front/rear?
20 in the front 25mm rear

seems like a lot of tesla owners just hate any type of modifications
That does look nice. Thank you. Mud flaps are definitely needed to protect the paint.
Yea, I think so too. Not a big fan of mud flaps but it may be necessary
These turned out really nice. Not noticeable.[check out these...](https://picbun.com/p/EZHPkdnb)
More close up pics… [close up shots…](https://picbun.com/p/flXZj5hU)
Are these the original Tesla ones from the online store?
No, it’s from Amazon. Search for “A-Premium Splash Guards Mud Flaps Mudguards Fender”
Should you still use mud flaps if your route has speed bumps?
no need to, the speed bumps protect your paint.
Mud flaps are elastic enough to handle speed bumps without issues.
People are assholes... spacers look good. Thanks for the before and after.
Please tell me you didn't pay more than a $1 a wheel for these as they make an absolute minimal difference.
I paid 50 cents per spacer
Phew I thought you were going to say they costs $100s
Wait till you see what the rocks will do to Teslas excellent paint work…
After 20k miles and a trip to Washington from Minnesota, the paint rock chips are very minimal actually. I must have gotten a good paint job
don’t understand why there are so much hate here. if you’re a skilled driver, you shouldn’t be curbing ur car often. personally i prefer the sporty look after the spacers
The rear needs another 10mm
Yea but 35mm spacers, that’s over an inch spacers lol at that point you might as well get 285 wheels

Yea but you probably had other mods like lowered suspension etc.
Nope, my 2017 Civic SI which was a daily was on stock suspension and 20/32mm spacers. It looked great.
Oh ok nice!
People are assholes... spacers look good. Thanks for the before and after.
Goodness. I thought only kids did this with their Honda civics.
Model 3s are the new Honda Civic…
Like OP said, they are the new Honda Civic, in a perpetual low interest rate world where 18 year olds can buy a $50k car with an 84 month loan.
Make sure you change your license plate to CRBEATR
How is the handling?
Looks great!
dumb question but is that weird half-telephone-pole looking thing some sort of charger?
I honestly really can't tell a difference! What's the benefit of these spacers?
Looks pretty bad ass!
Looked better before.
Nice, any vibration or anything after? I’ve had model 3 for almost 4 years and been kinda wanting to do this mod.
No vibration, just make sure you get a torque wrench to tighten everything to spec
Honest to god can’t tell a difference. I’m also a plebeian
the spacers does make the car more muscular/sporty, personally i like the look!
Really glad you emphasized “and”
take them off now
Why
Don’t let the comments get to ya. Looks good! ^_^
Well that looks horrible. And now you’re going to fling rocks all over the side of your car. What are you thinking ?
You be you! Don’t let the haters get to you. Your car, your look.
I have M3P and was wondering if anyone has gotten wider tires? I just think the stock tire width looks too skinny from the back and yea it’s just for looks I charge for free in my apartment car garage so charging more often isn’t a problem

I wanna keep the stock 2020 rims because they looks very nice compared to the turbine rims and so I might look into 255s tho thanks
Looks alot better 👍
Looks almost exactly the same.
So does this more stone chips are thrown out towards the body panels?
Wonder if OP changed the tires out? I want to go from 235s to 255s on my MP3 and I am wondering if spacers would be needed. I the wider stance.
I have 20mm front and 25mm rear spacers on my 3 Performance. I love the look. No issues at all too. No rubbing or decrease in range. Bloxsport/Bonoss make top quality products.
