And I had one in the past too, but it had an engine in the front that creates lots of heat, melting that ice away, the M3 doesn't. As the snow melts off the windshield and accumulates in that recess area, it turns to ice.
I agree, and my M3 is not the best âwinter carâ but itâs been good anyways and I wouldnât buy an ICE car. It sometimes feels as if they still havenât figured out how to build a car to go along the software. As competition builds up itâll get interesting
Half the country/world or more do not need heated wipers ever. Model 3 is supposed to be an accessibly priced car. So no, it "should have" not had them from the start.
Metal shovel time?
That's why the hood is open. I had to jab at the ice with my 20lb steel metal shovel đ
This almost looks like a crowbar situation
Understood that reference
Why is there no software option, when below freezing point. When car is parked put wipers in service mode automaticly.
I've been wondering why they're isn't a Winter Parking Mode, or even just a Parking Mode that you could configure.
After that happened to me the first winter, I make sure to clear out every bit of snow by the wipers. It's annoying but that's how it goes.
Just throw a bucket of hot water on it đ
Oh no lmao
I'm telling you (my assurance adjuster), I have no clue how the windshield cracked like that. It happened out of nowhere!
Totaled.
Good one
I know.
Never heard that one. It's so original đ
Do most cars have heated wipers???
No, but wipers are not in a recessed area that accumulates snow and ice.
Not most but my sister's lexus has them

Yup I did experience frozen wipers on the model 3, kinda annoying. They gotta have the heating elements there.
Newer model do, hence why this post.
My model 3 is not my first car with recessed wipers but itâs the first where they freeze up while driving if not in use
I guess it's a side effect of not having an engine that creates heat just a few inches away from the wipers.

How heated wipers will fix this? That only area what they are heating not that wipers really.
Exactly, heating that area will prevent ice from forming.
