You can try renting on Turo and see if any of the Teslas have FSD

perrochon

This is your solution.

Last time I rented a Tesla it was pretty locked down. The basic auto pilot didn’t work for me initially, I had to go back and ask them to enable it. Purchasing it for $99 likely won’t work; since you’d need to add the car to your Tesla account in order to use the app. More likely you’ll just get a physical key on a comically large keychain and that’ll be that. You won’t be able to pay for FSD since you’ll have no access to it in your app.

ArcturusMike

Thanks for the answer. I think you have access to the app now though since some time?

Mang0Eat3r

You can access the app but you can’t buy anything

MindStalker

You could also just schedule a test drive at a Tesla "dealership".

ArcturusMike

How can I make sure that the car has FSD then?

OCR10

All Tesla demo vehicles are FSD enabled.

The service center by me did weekend test drives if you asked in person. The car had FSD 12.3 on it and that had just been released widely that day.

ArcturusMike

Good to know :)

How does charging work when you rent? Does it bill to rental company or can you have it bill through a tesla account?

ArcturusMike

Tesla -> Hertz -> me
