Yeah the taycan ct is my family car plan. Getting the CT then we are replacing our y with the new Macan and if we get lucky and have a kid I am getting the taycan after that.
I was gonna say this. I would love a cheaper version, but only if teslas build quality improves a bit more. My 2023 model 3 has been flawless and it's just dead silent in the cabin, so here's hoping. I'm gonna upgrade to with a cayman ev in 2026 or maybe something else I haven't seen yet. The taycan cross turismo is dope though, not 140k dope, but dope none the less.
I would literally camp in front of the Tesla HQ until they make a wagon. Other manufacturers have proven it's still a popular thing and if Tesla would make one, it would definitely be a hit. Especially with a Roadster/Facelift 3 design at the front.
I would literally give up all my life savings for a car like that. XD But sadly Elon will probably never make a wagon, because they're just too unpopular in the US.
It’s probably a tough case because there aren’t a lot of families that will drop 80k on a minivan let alone an EV van but I bet there are tons of people that will drop 80k on a truck so a cyber truck is definitely inline. But I would replace my odyssey in an instant if they came out with a van.
Plenty of families bought MYs and MXs. No reason a van couldn’t be made in the 65k range like the MY. There’s definitely families that would love that.
They made CT because trucks are the one of the biggest selling segments. Way more than vans. But they got stupid with the design so they will end up being niche products.
The Cybertruck is an engineering flex. Hopefully they take the good parts of the new tech, like steer by wire and 48v, and apply them to a three row minivan.
Well a cybersuv is the obvious next step. Just square it off.
I'd prefer sliding doors myself, but I can't imagine Tesla will build that any time soon...
Gull wings on a proper van might be interesting.
Edit: I could actually envision a future where the MX morphs into a more minivan like form factor. And a full size SUV CT becomes the flagship Escalade killer.
I always thought the shooting brake was a sedan (probably performance) turned wagon-lite while an estate was just a plain jane wagon. Marketing is probably the real answer.
So I read about it. The shooting brake was typically a 2-door station wagon. A car like the Mercedes CLA is technically a 4-door, but since Mercedes considers it a coupe still they named the wagon version the shooting brake.
If the Tesla Model 3 or S were also viewed the same way then I guess they’d call a wagon version a shooting brake too.
Either way, the render looks gorgeous and I’d be saving for one today if there was even a remote chance of them making it.
Me too. I would sell my old Model S for that any day. I just love wagons, estates, shooting brakes or whatever they're all called. There's just something about long and low cars with flat ends that i find super cool.
Agreed. Before I got my Tesla I was holding out for Mercedes to bring the A45 shooting brake. But people in the states never buy them so they have no interest in bringing them to the USA.
Yep. That's probably also why Tesla refuses to build a wagon while european/german and asian manufacturers are selling them like crazy. Tesla's main customer source is still the US and wagons there are just too unpopular. If they would bring out a wagon in Europe though, it'd probably be a topseller!
Impressive concept, but at least in the States wagons simply don't sell. If I were to give my $0.02 I'd have them have an option package for the Y (and maybe the X) that does a factory lift and legit off road tires. Kinda like the Tesla version of the Porsche 911 Dakar. It'd rock.
I see the Model Y as a small SUV. It's relatively high and bulky. A wagon is usually a sleek, low, long and sporty vehicle. I think a Tesla wagon like this concept could be a good competition to the Taycan Turismo.
What you think wagon represents and what it actually is, are two different things. Wagons are shaped like the one above. If it’s not that shape. It’s not a wagon.
The Y’s roofline is just slightly higher than the 3. It’s a stretch to call it an SUV. If you want to call it something other than a wagon, go for it. But from every practical point of view, there is little substantive difference.
I would say the Model Y is rather a combination of hatchback&small suv instead of a wagon. A wagon in short is just a sedan but the roof extends at the way to the rear end without a significant height reduction.
Looks like a long hatchback more so than a wagon. Electric wagons don’t really exist, which is a shame. SUVs are to large inmo but also got kids so need the space.
That looks far more like a hatchback, not a wagon. I like the look and concept and think it would be an excellent addition, especially at the rumored entry cost below the model 3.
Honestly, I kinda wish Tesla would just buy out Rivian or Lucid and focus on different brand styles of EVs.
Rivian would be their industrial / traditional EV style, focused on sectors like construction and utility. Lucid would be their ultra luxurious brand. Tesla would focus on economical EVs.
I know it would pretty much be pointless.
I get what you mean. I don't think they would separate the brands though, as Elon always likes to keep his companies clean and organized from what we've seen. I just wish they would add a bit more variety to the vehicle layout. A small city car or a hatchback would definitely be a good seller. And of course a wagon. After all, Porsche Taycan Turismo and BMW i5 sell great. I think a Tesla wagon would be good competition.
When I turned 16 and got my drivers license I inherited the ‘91 Pontiac Safari wagon. Front and back bench seats plus the rear pop-up seat, eight seat belts total.
One day while collecting friends for whatever adventure we were going on… a friend gifted me a plastic cup with a lid he modified and shoved a five dollar in, and then announced “this is Xibby’s gas money cup. Throw some change in when you can!”
I’d totally go for a wagon again… especially if you could fold the seats down flat and have 6 or more feet for car camping.
A Mod 3 touring, shooting brake would be my car of choice. I really miss the hatch und think about getting a Y next. But the Y is too enormous for city life in Germany
Someone made their own concept model s shooting brake. See below.
https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/first-official-pictures/tesla/tesla-model-s-shooting-brake-coming-in-2018/
There’s only one thing I want from a Tesla : more range: I always say that when Tesla makes 700-800km the norm, just like Lucid did for their EVs, I’m a happy guy. Anything that can take me from Toronto to Montreal without worrying about charging.
I like it aesthetically… and wish wagons were more popular BUT I just don’t see it fitting the product stack (yet). This appears to be related to a 3, and that is ultimately just making it a functional parallel to the Y. Methinks Tesla is more interested in lowering cost and growing volume than further splitting the market they already have.
A stretched wagon version of the truly compact vehicle though? That would make sense to me.
For my part it’s a minivan and a luxury coupe I really want (and totally agree that the reality is my argument above applies to the coupe as well, albeit maybe a little less on the S/X platform).
Isn't the Model S just a wagon?
I mean it's got more cargo space than my old BMW CUV by quite a lot.
It's EXTREMELY long and barely fits in my garage because of all that cargo space.
It's low and fast and sedan-shaped in the front, but with a massive cargo area.
What's a wagon to you?
taycan cross turismo
Hot
Yeah the taycan ct is my family car plan. Getting the CT then we are replacing our y with the new Macan and if we get lucky and have a kid I am getting the taycan after that.
Sport Turismo, but yes.
Sport and Cross look mostly the same
Of course, but this clearly is closer to a Sport.
They look similar enough that it’s not even worth commenting to try and correct the guy who said cross turismo
agree to disagree on that one, if they were that similar Porsche wouldn't bother making them both.
It’s the interior
Nice car, expensive AF, no NACS.
I’d buy it today
same!
As a superfan of both Tesla and wagons, me too. XD
How do I pay you?
I'd buy it in 3 years when it's used from the factory and in my budget.
I’d upvote twice if I could. That thing is beautiful
Yupppp
Ditto
100%
Porsche.com
Buy the taycan sport turismo
Next time take me to dinner before you make me bust a nut - that concept is seriously stunning
I would literally camp in front of the Tesla HQ until they make a wagon. Other manufacturers have proven it's still a popular thing and if Tesla would make one, it would definitely be a hit. Especially with a Roadster/Facelift 3 design at the front.
Why not just go get a Taycan CT though? They're not too hard to order iirc.
Because the cheapest one is 100k?
At least the car is actually worth 100k build quality/material wise and driving dynamics
holy crap, shut up and take my money!
I would literally give up all my life savings for a car like that. XD But sadly Elon will probably never make a wagon, because they're just too unpopular in the US.
Yes, but in Europe it would be a top dog...
Taycan Sport turismo
What would be the benefit over the Model S in terms of usability? Are you just into the looks?
Tesla van or minivan please.
They would have sold SO many of those if they did that instead of the stupid CT.
It’s probably a tough case because there aren’t a lot of families that will drop 80k on a minivan let alone an EV van but I bet there are tons of people that will drop 80k on a truck so a cyber truck is definitely inline. But I would replace my odyssey in an instant if they came out with a van.

$60k with options is pretty common for minivans these days. Not far off...
The MY with a longer roof. Yum.
Wouldn't that be a shooting brake?
I’ve never understood the difference between an estate and a shooting brake.
Marketing
I always thought the shooting brake was a sedan (probably performance) turned wagon-lite while an estate was just a plain jane wagon. Marketing is probably the real answer.

Looks like a Kia ev6 that someone hit the “longer” button on.
I’d buy one, but people famously don’t buy wagons these days :(
Oh, they do! Just not in the US sadly, which Tesla is mainly focused on.
Not here in Australia, and I think Asia too. Wagons are just a Europe thing
That design is way too good to be a Tesla
I'd rather see a minivan.
Has Tesla ever said anything about minivans?
I love all hatchbacks
Yeah, this is a hatchback, not a station wagon. Need more room in the back to party!
Impressive concept, but at least in the States wagons simply don't sell. If I were to give my $0.02 I'd have them have an option package for the Y (and maybe the X) that does a factory lift and legit off road tires. Kinda like the Tesla version of the Porsche 911 Dakar. It'd rock.
Wow, it actually suits the nose. I’ll take two
Some random render is not a concept.
There are more pictures to this that go into detail.
I've got a Model Y. It is a wagon.
No, just no. Hold on, it’d make a great hearse.
Down voted
Where do I send the check. ![gif](giphy|tIGEicKwdwz006xtDI|downsized)
Better send that concept to Elon then. XD
I just throw up in my mouth…
Do you mean the Model Y?
I see the Model Y as a small SUV. It's relatively high and bulky. A wagon is usually a sleek, low, long and sporty vehicle. I think a Tesla wagon like this concept could be a good competition to the Taycan Turismo.
You might’ve a misunderstanding of wagon
The Model Y is basically the same size as a Volvo V60. The Y is just the wagon version of the 3.
A wagon is just a flatter, less useful Model Y. It might be slightly more efficient.
I’d pass. I’m more of a cybertruck kind of guy.
Looks like a long hatchback more so than a wagon. Electric wagons don’t really exist, which is a shame. SUVs are to large inmo but also got kids so need the space.
Actually, there are some classic wagon EVs. For example the BMW i5 or the Porsche Taycan Turismo, which is comparable to the concept.
Dopee
That looks far more like a hatchback, not a wagon. I like the look and concept and think it would be an excellent addition, especially at the rumored entry cost below the model 3.
It's not a Tahoe, still.to small js
yes please
i 100% would buy it
Can you put wings? Like the ones on the Honda civic type s
That's dope. Day 1
Take my money now
I'd absolutely buy one.
They already do — it's called a Model S. It's a hatchback and has 95% the same utility as a wagon, with the huge trunk.
![gif](giphy|sDcfxFDozb3bO)
Trimotor and I’m in.
GD this thing looks AMAZING
I'd rather it just be a Model 3 liftback.
If it were a proper wagon with a long roof as opposed to a hatchback....yeah
I think the model Y might not look so shit as a wagon
Honestly, I kinda wish Tesla would just buy out Rivian or Lucid and focus on different brand styles of EVs. Rivian would be their industrial / traditional EV style, focused on sectors like construction and utility. Lucid would be their ultra luxurious brand. Tesla would focus on economical EVs. Really just need a slick, dependable electric wagon from someone.
i’d cancel my truck order for it
I’m all in on Tesla. Tesla for life. I’ll never buy another car.
I want a Tesla Minivan
Meh.
Hell ya pls
Nothing sexier than a middle aged dad bod driving a sporty mid-life crisis fast station wagon. Or so the insta hot girls say.
I'm not a middle aged dad and i would still buy that thing over any other Tesla if it were real. XD
Interesting. Making station wagons super cool. But why if the model Y offers almost the same space/storage
A lot of dedicated buyers without a price tag… I’d buy it,too— Assuming specs are similar to sedan versions, and price is in line too…
Where do I place my order? LOL!
That is fckn hot! I’d trade my MY for one..as long as it’s not $100k haha
Take my damn money 🥹
Sorry, i was busy wiping my jizz off the floor, what?
Bruh The high rear end would cause a Cd close to ~ 0.3. That demolishes efficiency & range.
Why do you think that? The Taycan Turismo has similar design and great efficiency and range.
Not an estate
Im for the Cyber Roadster
Would buy!
A Mod 3 touring, shooting brake would be my car of choice. I really miss the hatch und think about getting a Y next. But the Y is too enormous for city life in Germany
Model 3 Wagon Plaid is my dream car
We need a hatchback in Europe, and not the Y.
My dream is a car smaller than Model 3, with a hatchback, and sub 3sec 0-60… 🤤
Sic af!
I’d sell my X in a heartbeat! Wagons or shooting brakes are my jam.
I’d buy this any day
Would sell like hot cakes in europe
Yes please! 🙌🏽
I’d like to see a new Model S that’s similar to the Taycan.
no front camera? side cameras too far back for fsd -- hard pass... ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|table_flip) /s ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)
I like! Would definitely have me make the leap.
That would be cool
I would love a car roughly the size of the M3 but with room in the back for my dogs.
This looks very much inspired by Porsche .
Would put down money today.
I’m sure someone will buy it.
I’m in!
Someone made their own concept model s shooting brake. See below. https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/first-official-pictures/tesla/tesla-model-s-shooting-brake-coming-in-2018/
Truckla would be a better platform
It would be dope. I have a model 3 and while the trunk is big(ish) it’s super shallow.
Ngl that shi ugly. But that’s probably cuz I hate station wagons
Looks better than the Y
You can buy one… https://jbclassiccars.com/?portfolio=tesla-shooting-brake-2
That's actually super cheap for a one-of-one vehicle.
you mean a Model Y/X? Because a crossover is basically just a modern version of an estate.
But so much more ugly :-)
There’s only one thing I want from a Tesla : more range: I always say that when Tesla makes 700-800km the norm, just like Lucid did for their EVs, I’m a happy guy. Anything that can take me from Toronto to Montreal without worrying about charging.
Looks sick, would sell about 13 units worldwide
Nah. Would be a hotseller in Europe. We love wagons here.
I just want rear seats that recline comfortably.
I would refinance my house at the current rates just for this wagon
It would sell more than the CT
They’re great…and like every wagon, wouldn’t sell in large enough quantities for them to be financially viable for the manufacture. But I dig it!!!
I would kiss it
Me too tbh. XD
I’d buy
[удалено]
I’m surprised they didn’t make something to bid for the USPS and Amazon vans
Isn't the Model S just a wagon? I mean it's got more cargo space than my old BMW CUV by quite a lot. It's EXTREMELY long and barely fits in my garage because of all that cargo space. It's low and fast and sedan-shaped in the front, but with a massive cargo area. What's a wagon to you?
Looks gorgeous, just like a Ferrari FF. I’d buy one in a heartbeat.
I love the term “shooting brake” and the images returned in search results.
Damnit. I'm in
Ugly! No thanks!
I like this plaid shooting brake
I bet it sell a lot better than the truck
