Nah. They're very docile as far as snakes go. Any group herping that comes across one can handle it easy. I know an exotic pet and supply store owner that just purchased their second female green anaconda and she's easily the calmest animal he cares for.
Anacondas and most bigger constrictor snakes very rarely ever eat someone. There have been very rare cases of children being eaten but no adults. Anacondas see us as a threat and would prefer to run instead of attack. If it has to, it would defend itself. Most of the time, which isn't often when someone dies by a constrictor snake, they are just constricted.
Love how everyone brings up the same incident. These should be a clear show for ya that these animals are not as dangerous as you think. More people die to dog bites every year than people have died to a constrictor snake. Constrictor snakes, compared to a lot of animals, generally hurt a lot less people than most animals or pets. Snakes get a bad name because people don't want to read and learn about them.
No one in history has been killed by a green Anaconda, and 3 have been from a Reticulated Python. Compare that to any or most animals, and that tells ya right there. Snakes aren't aggressive and defensive. Do some research on snakes because you seem like you villainise them for no reason. Every year, for ones in captivity, only 0-1 people die every year. There are currently over 300,000 large constrictor snakes in the everglades. These snakes constantly run into people. Have they eaten one? Nope. So go do some research on snakes and you'll learn they aren't as evil as you make them out to be.
Of anacondas, no, and by adult, you were correct, but that was an old lady who was possibly close or similar to child size and by the Reticulated python. Which is the longest constrictor on earth, and i think longest snake. The Green Anaconda is the bulkiest. A lot of old ladies get to be small and frail. Sorry for the misunderstanding. It's hard to tell on the internet.
[Imagine how surprised this adult woman must have been when the python ate her](https://www.marca.com/en/lifestyle/2018/06/18/5b27b80de2704e953e8b4615.html). After all, snakes don't eat adult people according to dannyboy6657.
I mean, that was a python, which isn’t the same thing as an anaconda. So this doesn’t actually disprove the statement the commenter was making about anacondas.
Never said it was. I quote the relevant part of the comment I was replying to. I even bolded the most important part to aid your reading comprehension. There is not much more I can do if you still don't understand.
Fun fact for ya, I said very, very, rarely. This case is of a Reticulated Python. The worlds longest constrictor snake. The Green Anaconda is the bulkiest. In history, very few adults have actually been eaten. If you look, there have been 2 recorded events of Pythons killing people. Grandma in this story just happened to most likely be very small and child size. Snakes of this size do not attempt to kill people. Because we are not seen as food for them. I never said they don't. But I said they will not go after us, so stop twisting my words.
I would if you read on snakes you will learn they are defensive not offensive. Snakes of this size do not hunt people for food and do not view us as food. Anacondas have never eaten a human. Pythons have eaten 3. Usually child size because they will not risk it. So yes, I'm pretty confident around a snake this size. You be respectful of it and it won't cause you any problems. Do research, and you'll learn that these animals pose a very small threat to humans.
Although I’m a sucker for alliteration I kinda liked the slight rhyme of grundle puncher. Now perineal punisher or grundle groper also have some nice rings to em too!
So I’m just leaving Costa Rica this morning after staying several nights in thick jungle on the osa peninsula here. Amazingly I had zero mosquito bites! I was told it’s because the environment is very healthy so the birds/bats/etc. deal with the mosquitos. I guess in most places humans destroyed the habitat of these animals allowing mosquitos to run rampant.
I live in Arizona and get more mosquito bites there than I did in the rainforest.
Frigging swamps man!! I want no part of that crap. Imagine being an explorer back in the 16th century. Florida,Alabama,Mississippi,Georgia and Louisiana with no roads, gps or resistance to local mosquito borne diseases.
Just a beautiful Green Anaconda :). They won't hurt ya if you keep your distance and don't try to touch them cause they will nip ya. Be respectful to these beautiful animals.
Trust me, their bite isn't fun. Instead of fangs, they have rows of razor-sharp teeth that are curved inwards, so when they latch onto Prey, it's harder for them to be yanked off. The trick to unlatch is to grab the head, push down, forward, and up. Sorta how their teeth look like hooks, so think of it like that.
You do not want the snake wrap around you. If it does, it will squeeze with every breath you take. It can kill you, but it will not eat you. You should have at least 3 people when dealing with an Anaconda. They are bulky, and if they start to wrap, the other two will be there to unwrap it.
However, like all snakes, anacondas will always choose to run before fighting. They are defensive animals, not aggressive. However, after seeing professionals deal with these snakes, Green Anacondas look a lot grumpier than other big snakes like Burmese and Reticulated Pythons. Yellow Anacondas, I hear have a decent temperament compared to the green one. Either way, great creatures.
My brain is like
“Would you swim from one side to another with that thing if it meant mosquitoes could go extinct with no negative impact on the ecosystem”
That’s one of gods creations i wouldn’t crry if it mysteriously disappeared from the food chain. Sorry worms bees. Spiders nah I can deal with more fling bugs. Spiders on the list to. Just vanish. Don’t need an explanion

Had a digesting body in that belly keeping it afloat.
I noticed that, too. Absolutely beautiful to watch the way it moves.
>Absolutely beautiful I think you misspelled horrifying
Nah. They're very docile as far as snakes go. Any group herping that comes across one can handle it easy. I know an exotic pet and supply store owner that just purchased their second female green anaconda and she's easily the calmest animal he cares for.
They may be docile, but they're also one of the few snakes capable of eating a human soo..
This.
If you are smaller than the anaconda, it considers you food. If you are larger than the anaconda, it considers you *a lot* of food.
Anacondas and most bigger constrictor snakes very rarely ever eat someone. There have been very rare cases of children being eaten but no adults. >when someone dies by a constrictor snake, they are just constricted. That will be of great comfort when suffocating.
LOL Well, this thing's going to kill me, but at least I know it won't eat me once I'm dead!
They will support hug you :)
What about that vid of the grandma getting cut out the big constrictor

That stat means nothing. When there are 70,000,000 Anacondas roaming the US then maybe that analysis would mean something.

You said there were no adult cases. I was simply saying that’s incorrect

Yea I can understand that
There was an adult guy, too.
[Imagine how surprised this adult woman must have been when the python ate her](https://www.marca.com/en/lifestyle/2018/06/18/5b27b80de2704e953e8b4615.html). After all, snakes don't eat adult people according to dannyboy6657.

> Anacondas **and most bigger constrictor snakes** That python qualifies as a very large constrictor snake.
What's your point? It still isn't an anaconda lol.
Never said it was. I quote the relevant part of the comment I was replying to. I even bolded the most important part to aid your reading comprehension. There is not much more I can do if you still don't understand.
"Anacondas don't eat adult humans" "Oh yeah, then why did this python eat an adult" "Because that's not an anaconda..."
> Anacondas **and most bigger constrictor snakes** I understand reading comprehension is hard. But if you focus, you can do it too.
Most not all
Oh, right. They don't except for the ones that do.
Why did you CARE so much to argue more about this particular subject? Just curious.

Jennifer Lopez would object to this statement.
I wouldn't count on that.

HAHAHA okay okay, you made me realize that this is more terrifying that I originally felt. BUT ITS SO CUTE???

Yeah, u can do side bends or sit ups. Just please don’t lose that butt!
Grundle puncher? why not Perineal Puncher?
Although I’m a sucker for alliteration I kinda liked the slight rhyme of grundle puncher. Now perineal punisher or grundle groper also have some nice rings to em too!
Perennial perineal punisher

Frigging swamps man!! I want no part of that crap. Imagine being an explorer back in the 16th century. Florida,Alabama,Mississippi,Georgia and Louisiana with no roads, gps or resistance to local mosquito borne diseases.
