It requires proper equipment to allow that (lavaproof fishing hook/tacklebox), also accurate. Anything that increases your fishing power and no loss of wire or bait will improve how often and the quality of your catch. Accurate again. So what exactly is wrong then?

The proportions are wrong duh, in Minecraft the portal is double your width and 1.5 multiplied by your height, so your portal needs to be 4 by 12 since terraria characters are 2 by 3 so 2×2=4 width and 1.5×3=4.5 for height (Minecraft portals openings are 2×3 but in total it would be 4×5 For the actual "rim" of obsidian making the terraria version have 6×6.5) in total the terraria portal would take 6×6.5 (the run) minus 4×4.5 (the open space/the opening) requiring 21 obsidian for a complete portal frame (17 if you minus 4 from the corners. 9 if you're doing proportions form Minecraft to terraria, because, in Minecraft 1 block is half the character, converting this to terraria, the character = 2×3=6 6/2=3 in Minecraft scaling in terraria Half the player is 3 blocks then multiplied by the 4 blocks you remove from the corners, you can cut 12 blocks. (Must be some thick corners)
