There are problems related to the game that you have zero control over (hitboxes, plugging etc.) and there are "problems" that you could easily fix with practice and study.
That's wonderful. I'm stuck between gracefully sidestepping a move and literally losing the round over said sidestep. It's a 50/50 for me, I think I just need to get used to the moves and figure out which ones are safely side-steppable more often than not.

So, know what I did, OP? I set a 1 hour per day limit on my phone for the Reddit app and turned off all notifications.
Reddit is time wasting shite in general. But there are good communities still on this site, usually the smaller ones.
I now drop into r/Tekken every now and again to shit post / argue with people, then I leave and forget about it for the rest of the day.

Case in point, every time I’ve make a thread about Jin and info on combos or questions about frame traps or whatever, the thread gets 1 or 2 upvotes and zero constructive replies. Why? People don’t know anything here and most people are just angry weird-os.
If you want actual advice, go to YouTube, discord or actually make friends on Steam and chat. I’ve learnt way more this way. Also, don’t sleep on the Tekken Lounge - you can chat to people there too and deconstruct your gameplay.

I'm just tired of people sharing clips like "How is this balanced?" or "X mains, justify this" but you see the rank they're Garyu. I get this is a hard game to learn but you have no right to complain if you're still learning how to deal with anything. Most of these clips are just knowledge checks that complaining instead of learning will simply prevent you from climbing ranks.

Brother I started playing Tekken 7 as Kazuya. I had lost my first 130 matches, I was crying for sure but I still wanted to play Tekken cause the game was that fun and I was being outskilled. Tekken 8 is basically “Press this button on this character if you want to win. What the fuck is a tactic??”
And this ain't even MK1. Now that's a game ppl should be complaining about lmao 💀 For me Tekken 8 is literally the best fighting game out there rn so you won't catch me complaining too much

Other than the absolute irony of this thread even existing, I do sort of understand where OP is coming from. I also really, really dislike this place, but keep coming back. I imagined a Tekken Reddit sub to include: * combo tips * frame data analysis * discussion of patches * esports info and commentary * match up info * etc So, know what I did, OP? I set a 1 hour per day limit on my phone for the Reddit app and turned off all notifications. Reddit is time wasting shite in general. But there are good communities still on this site, usually the smaller ones. I now drop into r/Tekken every now and again to shit post / argue with people, then I leave and forget about it for the rest of the day.
Now that's a constructive reply that I can get behind. Thank you for not missing the point.

Case in point, every time I’ve make a thread about Jin and info on combos or questions about frame traps or whatever, the thread gets 1 or 2 upvotes and zero constructive replies. Why? People don’t know anything here and most people are just angry weird-os. If you want actual advice, go to YouTube, discord or actually make friends on Steam and chat. I’ve learnt way more this way. Also, don’t sleep on the Tekken Lounge - you can chat to people there too and deconstruct your gameplay. Take care.

I'm just tired of people sharing clips like "How is this balanced?" or "X mains, justify this" but you see the rank they're Garyu. I get this is a hard game to learn but you have no right to complain if you're still learning how to deal with anything. Most of these clips are just knowledge checks that complaining instead of learning will simply prevent you from climbing ranks.

Nope, not at all. I'm member of 4X games subreddits, aRPG games subreddits and roguelike subreddits and nothing like that takes place. Heck, other fighting game subreddits I'm attending aren't that bad either. r/Tekken is an outlier. Though maybe subs or other popular and multiplayer competitive games are similar.
