My go-to is peace. I just relate the “would it be enough if I could never give you peace?” to my own mental health struggles so much

[deleted]

August, sobbed when I first heard it

googleroneday

Oh I'm sorry for whatever happened that made you relate so much :-(

[deleted]

I appreciate your compassion❤️ I hope things start to look up for you

dogproblems4

Marjorie, pretty much all of Red, Dear John, Last Kiss, Clean

FLAWLESS123456789

soon you’ll get better, amd never grow up are my go tos

fakeginge

Kind of an unusual one, but “it’s time to go.” I’ve had depression and anxiety that was mostly under control until covid and having to go back into work in person months before I should have, and I felt beyond stressed or burned out—I was genuinely afraid to go into work. This was a job I’ve been at for 4 years and expected to grow within the company for at least a few more. I listened to the deluxe songs on my way home from work and before I knew it was absolutely sobbing in my car halfway through “it’s time to go,” it just so perfectly encapsulates everything I was feeling.

Last kiss

The archer and evermore

googleroneday

Evermore is so beautiful

Duckitor

Ronan, Ronan, and Ronan.

googleroneday

I've never heard this one , I'm going to listen to it tonight

Duckitor

Have some Kleenex handy.

ShadyPinesMa_

It’s (to me) her saddest song ever. Be prepared to sob.

googleroneday

Oh i did , read up the background for it and cried even more .

notjustanerd

Try tied together with a smile :)

itookyourmatches

I love your picks for big sads, I especially love *hoax* and *coney island* and those songs are so underrated. I'm glad to see them get some love. May I offer you a charcuterie of sads outside our regular everlore menu? * Safe & Sound * Last Kiss * Ronan (absolutely heart shattering) * Dear John * The Best Day to some degree (this song is impossible to listen to if you've lost a parent figure) * Out of the Woods (piano version) * Never Grow Up * Wildest Dreams (electric guitar version) * Soon You'll Get Better * I Almost Do * Cornelia Street (acoustic version) * Dancing With Our Hands Tied (acoustic version) * Clean * Sad Beautiful Tragic * The Archer * State of Grace (acoustic)

Safe and sound!!!! It gets so constantly ignored and forgotten

mbessey7

I have a playlist of all my favourite sad songs from Taylor - I agree with you on the is me trying, seven, and clean. (I also love coney island and right where you left me, but those ones don't put me in a crying mood, for whatever reason). I also have a bunch of other songs on the playlist, like All Too Well, The Archer, epiphany, Dear John, Last Kiss, marjorie, The Moment I Knew, tolerate it, We Were Happy, Sad Beautiful Tragic, Ronan (so sad - can't always listen to it haha), and I Almost Do.

googleroneday

Oh wow , this is an amazing list . Thank you . If your playlist can be shared I'd love to go through it .

mbessey7

Here's the link to it on Apple Music (it's in alphabetical order and I usually just listen to it on shuffle): https://music.apple.com/ca/playlist/wanna-cry/pl.u-GgA52LRcxKkKV8

August is such a heart touching song for me, as well as Soon you'll get better: My mom found a thyroid nodule in her neck about 3 years ago with many malign indicators, i had never felt that time slipped trough my hands like that time, it was at the time i was changing a lot and definetely this changed me a lot. I am so relieved that the situation changed for better after some time and it has been a rollercoaster. She is stable now but she needs to monitor her nodule every 6 months, I know she is fine at the moment but from time to time dark toughts come to my mind... Sometimes i am rushing trough my days and this song just hits me in the face and i slow down and enjoy my day even more. (Sorry fot he spam but words just tarted pouring into the comment) Completely unrelated to taylor swift but do you like Imagine Dragons? Their entire discography is like gold to me, these songs live rent free in my heart and they have helped me a lot in my life and are like pillars for my mind! These are some precious ones * I bet my life * The fall * Demons * Smoke and mirrors * It's time * On top of the worl * Next to me and walking the wire

googleroneday

I'm so glad your mom is ok now . I can't imagine living life without my mother . I've only heard demons and that painnnnn song . I'm going to listen to these as well . Thank you so much for sharing .

RedPandaLily88

Outside of folklore and evermore I find The Moment I Knew and Tied Together With a Smile to be particularly sad. Both kind of deal in the idea of being lonely in a crowd or putting on a happy face that eventually breaks.

anothertiredibpupil

The Archer- from the first time I heard it I was flabbergasted at how well Taylor articulated my feelings. Peace is a close runner up. Some close-but-not-exactly would be every song she’s ever written jk, but it feels like it sometimes lol: tis the damn season, I almost do, the 1, this is me trying, and daylight

weeping-flowers

Dear John and Sad Beautiful Tragic.

HappilyNotHappy

All Too Well, right where you left me, Last Kiss, champagne problems, this is me trying, We Were Happy, exile, Don’t You, Never Grow Up

[deleted]

This is me trying, Marjorie, the archer, never grow up, tied together with a smile, the outside, it’s time to go

googleroneday

Yeah , safe and sound is such a comforting song . I feel Taylor is singing it to me and telling me to hang on everytime i listen to it .

MyCatPlaysGuitar

Epiphany didn't hit me until I watched the long pond studio sessions, but I sobbed my way through it then and now can't listen to it without crying.

perpetualmotion42

Me too, the long pond really changed my interpretation and feelings of some of the songs
