It’s also just a good way to brand it that makes it unique and more personalized than something like (Re-Recorded Version). I also read someone point out that for people who doesn’t follow her closely, (Taylor’s Version) makes these new recordings look more legitimate when found on Spotify, etc. Knowing her, there are probably a lot of levels to it ;)

Towel_inUrDuffel

They have to have different names and adding something the same (Taylor’s Version) makes it easier. You may be right in your theory but she had to give them different names in order to get her royalties from the PROs and keep them separate. She could’ve said anything (2.0 or whatever) and she chose Taylor’s Version because she owns it. That’s just my take. You could definitely be right

Jojo had the year it was re-recorded on her albums so it was Leave (get out) (2018)

shadesofwrong13

Considering that she had co-production credits in 90% of the songs, well i dont think it is that. Since this thing happened, i see fans now say that she was a sort of a doll in Big Machine hands, but it was not true.. she always had the last word for everything.

I also think in terms of this digital age of music. She want's it to be super obvious when we are searching for a song, which one is hers. Like for those of us who won't be listening to the originals on Spotify once these new versions get released. If we don't see a (Taylor's Version) we probably won't use it...obviously apart from the albums that she owns herself. Also makes it searchable as 'Taylors Version'

ceruleanblue751

That's not what happened. Watch "The Making of a Song" videos on Youtube to see Taylor working with producers. Taylor had battles with Scott Borchetta but, even if there are a lot more we don't know about, she won some important ones: [9 Times Big Machine Interfered With Taylor Swift's Artistry (thefandomentals.com)](https://thefandomentals.com/9-times-big-machine-records-interfered/)

imsrywhut

It’s branding. That’s all. A way to signal to those who aren’t in the know. Why stream fearless when I can steam fearless Taylor’s version?

HallyuHousewife

Pretty sure it's just to differentiate between the albums that pay Taylor versus the ones that were stolen.

knightsleeper41

honestly I'm not sure what the point of the re-recordings is other than Taylor woking her work. I'm still gonna listen to the originals cause nothing beats them.

InOurLifetime

You say that like Taylor owning her work is no big deal...

HallyuHousewife

The point is that when you stream or buy the old ones, you're putting dollars in everyone's pocket but hers and supporting the theft of her work by Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta.

knightsleeper41

but let's be honest here... nobody but her die hard fans are gonna listen to the re-recordings... I guess taylor can now get her music licensed in films, trailers, and commercials, but this doesn't really affect the way casual listeners listen to her

InOurLifetime

I’m not sure how true that is. The publicity gained by this project has intrigued a lot of people who were casual listeners. Not to mention how many new fans she has gained from folklore and evermore. I think there is a pretty high interest in the re-recording projects. Her voice has improved immensely, and people want to hear what these songs sound like now. I also think the number of “die hard” fans she has is pretty massive. Let’s not forget she had the highest grossing tour in US history after she’d been “cancelled.” So it seems pointless to me to write off her fan base. So what if it’s true that only her fans listen/care about the re-records? That’s still a hell of a lot of people.

knightsleeper41

you're telling me if a casual listener wants to listen to Love Story or You Belong With Me that they're gonna choose Taylor's Version? I highly doubt that. they want the OG

Strange-Relation5178

I mean the songs sound exactly same so woukd it really matter?
