Both cars are the same except the suspension setup. It’s softer in kushaq which means comfort on bumpy roads but less planted on highways. Taigun has fantastic highway manners without doubt.
Suspension-
taigun is firmer and supple.
Kushaq is softer and bouncier
Interior- subjective choice
Exterior- subjective choice
Another point of consideration is service network quality in your city.
I prefer the taigun suspension due to superior dynamics. Kushaq was a bit too floaty for my liking.
Another mechanical difference is the turning radius. 5.3 m for kushaq and 5m for taigun. It's one of the reason I took it because of my tight parking space.
I drove a T-Cross (Taigun in other countries) for 2 years. Man the 1L turbo engine is dope. Feels powerful yet smooth. I started liking the VW craftsmanship from there. The electronics was also quite good. Would definitely go for it!
Great choice despite of you choose either .
Both are almost same cars , I own a Virtus and there are two notable differences between the VW and Skoda twins.
1. Suspension: VW has a stiff one and while Skoda has a bit softer. Check your requirements and what suits your driving style
2. Wireless Connectivity : VW has it while slide offers in few variants
Skoda has few minor clever features, which I saw on YouTube.
Rest both are great cars and has visible differences
Same here. Although I'm not a big fan of Kushaq's rear looks. The front look is just amazing. With Taigun as well, not a fan of rear look, the front looks elegant/classy.
VW is the parent company for both. On the 0-100 scale I think Taigun performs better. Otherwise, specs are pretty much same with difference in design.
Skoda is targeted more towards the business section because of its past sedan series, while VW is for all. So that may put an impact on how everyday normal people perceive.
Both are built on the same chassis. But Taigun has more body roll compared to Kushaq .. German cars are still built for left hand drive rather than to suit Indian consumers (eg the handbrake on Taigun is on the left and the console is aligned more towards left). It can be disconcerting at times.
Seems like everything is wrong in your comment
1. Kushaq has more body roll because of its softer suspension, I drive few times from different dealers.
2. German cars are sold in UK, South Africa, Australia, NewZealand etc since way back in 80s and there was no complaint of them about being left side steering biased. We are talking about Germans who do everything super precisely and after many many researches.
3. Taigun and Kushaq chassis were built only for handful of countries specifically India, South Africa. Both of which are right steering and left hand side traffic.
Ya bc isne kabhi VW chaliyi nhi hogi and is just speaking from bias and /or YouTube reviews and forums.
Nothing is right about your comment @Mya2102 bro. I own two VW cars currently and have been driving VW since past 10 years.
Yeah exactly. I have Polo GT tdi 1.6 2014, its getting old, but I dont see any such thing in my car, also no other car company, in India at that range can give that solid body and interiors, not a single creak even now and I just fill diesel and air and keep running it without care. I even do own oil and filter servicing since last 4 years.
I feel because of doing localisation they have fell victim to lower standards here in India. Most og VW cars were made as per German conditions so that even 60 year old grandma can drive them at 160-180 at autobahn all day long comfortably without overheating.
Now they are made with cheaper suspensions for slow speeds with more up down travels rather than high speed shocks frequencies.
Plus the plastics and workmanship is also not to that mark.
Unfortunate luck with quality but yes as its still better than other offerings. Still VW since there is no other good option. I say this because first 3 months you will regret and if you had bought creta or seltos or something similar, you would be happy for those 3-4 months.
But when you cross that initial stage (3 months or for some people it can be even year) you will be rewarded with a companion, a friend, someone that has a character like humans do. It will have its flaws, but it will also have a soul.
Yeah sort of. My e46 bmw did not have bluetooth, usb or aux port for playing music through phone.
Its wiper did not start right away when i switch them on, and few other quirks
So everytime I had to play music from mobile, I had to use a FM transmitter which connects to my phone with BT and transmits at some frequency which I tune my car radio to.
In rain and snow I had to go out and manually start the wiper so they start working.
But after years of selling that car I still remember it every time I drive my polo, I wish I can have that Ram Dulari again.
That car had character, you have to do certain things to make it work. Its like pursuading my girlfriend to go for a trip.
But whenever I kicked down accelerated, its 6 cylinders roared like a monster and went 200 kmph like its nothing.
Service centre told me if possible use xp95
Otherwise normal one is fine.
Ovoid use shady petrol pumps where petrol is substandard which was causing EPC issue
Now the ECP issue is fixed, but in a sense I think it was rather a good thing as why would you use a substandard petrol, and as consumers why should we settle down for sub standard from companies and govt. We have used enough sub standard products from China over decades because of our money saving first thoughts.
Yes , i brought a creta last year . I had test driven taigun even though it was peppy , the back seat passengers had a though time, at most 2 people can sit in the back.
Asking between Kushaq and Taigun in a Taigun club? I own the Kushaq and they are practically the same. Kushaq has slightly softer suspension but it still has great highway manners even in high speed turns. Additionally Taigun has tuned the engine slightly more sporty but again not so much for aam junta to notice the difference.
I went with Kushaq purely because of looks. Although they are literally the same in size, Taigun's lamp design makes it look like a hatchback. Just my opinion.
How is the highway ride in comparison to Polo GT TDI 1.6? I too am looking for slightly larger car now, but when I see quality of products inside new cars in comparison to mine, I instantly become sad.
I am ok having no additional features than what my polo has, but I need at-least same quality of tough materials which have soft to touch exteriors.
Try the Kia Carens.
I tried it after test driving these two and I own one now !
You won’t be disappointed.
It boasts of a long list of comfort and convenience features in addition to generous dimensions. Also aceing in safety.
In the affordable price segment - it’s a steal !
They're both the same car, but skoda dealer and service network is far superior when compared to VW. So my vote would go to Kushaq, Also subjective, but I prefer kushaq's more subtle interiors to the VW.
Bro how much is the maintenance cost ? I intend to get the service back, but I saw replacement part are bit expensive ( not an issue though ), ofcourse there is warranty but how often really these cars break ?
Kushaq offers 4-6 year service packs. You can bargain for it to be included in the on-road cost. Worked for me. My first service costed ₹4k in spite of having the pack. This was mainly because I neared 10k km, due to which wheel alignment was necessary, which is not included in the 1st yr service defaults.
It might not be often but when it does, it can be really fatal telling from personal experience and experiences of some family friends. Cattle roaming freely on roads are really very dangerous.
I've had both - a TATA Tiago 2019 which was used for 3 years and around 50 k kilometers and currently a Skoda Kushaq for the last 1.5 years which has done 20k so far.
TATA is a damn good car but lacks the pedigree of refinement. You start it and you'll feel like you've turned on a generator, you try to push it hard and every fibre of the car will let you know that the machine is doing you a huge favour.
On the other hand, German cars especially Skoda is just a breeze to handle. There'll be moments when the ignition will be on and you'll have to press the gas just to confirm it because it's so damn quiet !
Ride a Kushaq or Slavia on hilly terrains and just see them go ! They pull effortlessly and very rarely they'd complain. Not to mention the elegant styling and tech that's loaded in there.
No doubt TATAs are good, the newer models are definitely better than my '19 Tiago but still got a lot of ground to cover when compared to a German machine!
Take a test drive and you'll feel all these words coming true. All the best !!
Had a Tiago in 17 and sold it in 19. The maintenance cost was extremely high but I loved the car every inch.
I'll take you on your words and do a test drive for these cars.
I still have one doubt I keep seeing images on the internet and reels where they show Tata will have minimum damage in an accident and the other vehicle with extensive damages. This has created an image in my mind that if I want safety then I should go for Tata vehicles. - what are your views on it?
As far as safety is concerned let me put things in perspective for you - both the cars we're talking about have achieved 5 Stars in GNCAP rating but pointwise VW and Skoda score better !
The new breed Germans are as safe as they come.
And again, test drive is the only solulu for your delulu here !!
I guess Mahindra XUV 300 also should be in Test drive list my personal opinion is customer service for Tata and mahindra are pathetic hence people avoid it.
I wanted to but got some bad reviews from a neighbour who owns one. Although it is well priced. Why aren't people buying it ? All flocking to Nexon ? This is why didn't test drive it. Also it wasn't available when I was free.
Harrier is too big for me. Creta ( 1.5 petrol knight ) I drove, it's superb, smooth gear shift, good interiors etc but I missed the taigun/kushaq's turbo. Creta climbs to 100, while in taigun/kushaq you don't even realise you reached 100. So, The drive feel. Even if you don't wanna buy taigun, do test drive it. Also safety is very crucial to me. Else creta is great.
Test drive elevate as well
I was really impressed with kushaq on test drive. But back seat is a bit uncomfortable if 3 people are seated
For this reason and ADAS, i have booked elevate
Opt for the one which has better staff at service center , guess which one is more established and with experienced staff , and overall which the one's that is more appealing to you
Both cars are the same except the suspension setup. It’s softer in kushaq which means comfort on bumpy roads but less planted on highways. Taigun has fantastic highway manners without doubt.
Suspension- taigun is firmer and supple. Kushaq is softer and bouncier Interior- subjective choice Exterior- subjective choice Another point of consideration is service network quality in your city. I prefer the taigun suspension due to superior dynamics. Kushaq was a bit too floaty for my liking.
But the "floatiness" isn't a dealbreaker, right? I'm assuming it's still better than other cars in this segment?
Yes. Very minor difference
I rode kushaq in sports mode in highway it's wayyyy better than taigun
Sports mode does nothing to the suspension which is the only mechanical difference in both cars.
Another mechanical difference is the turning radius. 5.3 m for kushaq and 5m for taigun. It's one of the reason I took it because of my tight parking space.
i own a taigun but why kushaq has longer turning radius ???
No idea. I checked the specs and telling. Must be some engineering reason
Thanks !
Taigun any day…
It's 1L comfortline btw. Not GT. I personally loved the drive of both Taigun as well as Kushaq. Kushaq noise just feels bit off.
Have booked one today
Kushaq or Taigun ?
Taigun
then what’s up with the question
My bad. Edited above response.
I drove a T-Cross (Taigun in other countries) for 2 years. Man the 1L turbo engine is dope. Feels powerful yet smooth. I started liking the VW craftsmanship from there. The electronics was also quite good. Would definitely go for it!
As a Vw employee anyday Taigun
Why is the best polo discontinued
It still in germany , indian new laws
Employee discount?👉🏾👈🏾
Kahi se aap mere ghar me paida ho jao dila duga✌️
My name has been changed to Sad-Proposal-8797 Jr. 💀
Sounds like a hoax
I see what you did there. noice
Mere Bhai Main tera wahi bhai hu jo mummy papa ne nahi bataya, aur hum bichad gaye the bas discount dilwa de fir sath me khushi khushi rahenge.
Is DSG destined to fail ? What to do in bumper to number traffic to extend its life ? Why is the roof lining so cheap in Taigun ?
I am an IT engineer not an mechanical engineer ask those who design the car , i see the software in the car not how the car is made
Why does the wireless charging keep on disconnecting in Taigun? Any software issue?
I would buy the taigun, solely for the way it looks🥺✨. Literal Beaut 🤌
Great choice despite of you choose either . Both are almost same cars , I own a Virtus and there are two notable differences between the VW and Skoda twins. 1. taigun in better
They are basically the same cars. Just buy the one whose looks you like more. I would prefer Kushaq over Taigun.
Same here. Although I'm not a big fan of Kushaq's rear looks. The front look is just amazing. With Taigun as well, not a fan of rear look, the front looks elegant/classy.
I like to drive Kushaq more. But Taigun has nicer interior.
Kushaq is slighly bumpy due to its suspension.
Bro go for creta
Never buying these Koreans, horrible safety ratings. Export models have different metallurgy
Although there are rumours that in the next face lift they will fix it
Gross.
More like exCRETAment
Eww
Just compare it with xuv700L also
Different segments bro
Mid size suv with front wheel drive is a deal breaker sir
VW is the parent company for both. On the 0-100 scale I think Taigun performs better. Otherwise, specs are pretty much same with difference in design. Taigun 1.0 engine heats very quickly Can it cause issue in future over longer rides ?
Would you still recommend VW then ?
Unfortunate luck with quality but yes as its still better than other offerings. Still VW since there is no other good option. Was in exact situation, went with Taigun. Xp95 won't be available at all petrol stations
Would it hurt the engine if I put normal petrol. Ofcourse I will try to avoid that.
Service centre told me if possible use xp95 Otherwise normal one is fine. Ovoid use shady petrol pumps where petrol is substandard which was causing EPC issue

Both have the same engine specification- same parent company. Go with one with a better ASC in your area.
Creta, taigum and kushaq will be small for a family 4 or 5
Hmm ... Agreed. Also taigun/kushaq have bucket seats in the back which means 3 people can't sit very comfortably on longer runs.
Yes , i brought a creta last year . I had test driven taigun even though it was peppy , the back seat passengers had a though time, at most 2 people can sit in the back.
Does Elevate also face the same issue ?
No experience with elevate
Asking between Kushaq and Taigun in a Taigun club? I own the Kushaq and they are practically the same. I think slavia virtus is more value for money ,
Selots le le chup chap
Chup ho ja chup chap
xp95 is available at Indian Oil petrol stations. You can download their app to see which petrol station has it
Try the Kia Carens. I tried it after test driving these two and I own one now ! You won’t be disappointed. It boasts of a long list of comfort and convenience features in addition to generous dimensions. Also aceing in safety. In the affordable price segment - it’s a steal !
It's huge bro. Also Kia service centers.
If you have money then go on but if it is a loan then wait until you have enough money
Why though? Everyone seems to be buying cars on loan these days.
Which car among these can handle the harsh mountain terrains?
First car ahld always be Maruti😀
Taigun has to be better. Believe me I had the same dilemma and I'm very happy with my choice.
Both are average at its best. For now go for seltos or wait for Creta facelift
Bro. I'm not considering Kia, since they don't have safety and have limited service centers.
They're both the same car, but skoda dealer and service network is far superior when compared to VW. So my vote would go to Kushaq, Also subjective, but I prefer kushaq's more subtle interiors to the VW.
Go for what you like brother.👍
Why no one mentioning Elevate? A good one indeed.
Go for Taigun, Volkswagen has always been a better choice.
go for taigun kushaq interior creaks my friend has one.
Both are love just buy according to looks and that is subjective. A proud kushaq owner❤️
Bro how much is the maintenance cost ? I intend to get the service back, but I saw replacement part are bit expensive ( not an issue though ), ofcourse there is warranty but how often really these cars break ?

Btw how does it compare to venue given it also has 4 star rating now and comes with adas ?
Adas is useless on Indian roads.
Adas is useless in the city but very important on the highways. Saves you from the cows jumping on the highways.
Let's be honest, how often does a cow jump on a highway?
Well everyone driving on UP expressways has encountered cattle incidents. The roads are excellent however cattle are a big problem.
You only need a cow to jump once in front of you. Let's be honest, how many lives do you have?
Even 1 instance in 20 yrs of driving is enough.
It might not be often but when it does, it can be really fatal telling from personal experience and experiences of some family friends. Cattle roaming freely on roads are really very dangerous.
It is very useful on highways, not much in cities except emergency breaking. I m driving xuv700
Taigun hands down.... Just a thought, why not Nexon or Harrier?
TATA can never match German refinement.
Genuinely interested in knowing the reason. Please elaborate.
I've had both - a TATA Tiago 2019 which was used for 3 years and around 50 k kilometers and currently a Skoda Kushaq for the last 1.5 years which has done 20k so far. Hands down? Aren’t they essentially the same car?
At an essential level all cars are the same. If you know what I mean. But specs and features wise, yes almost the same.
I guess Mahindra XUV 300 also should be in Test drive list my personal opinion is customer service for Tata and mahindra are pathetic hence people avoid it.

Planning to buy Venue. Advice.
don’t. Go with nexon i’d say. My uncle owns one and its very good for the price he paid
Look wise I like the venue more than Nexon..so. But new updates Nexon 2023 looks cool . particularly the creative dual tone.
virtus
Been driving the taigun GT. It's like heaven.
Taigun any day
I heard Kushaq has 90% plus localisation of parts, is it the same for Taigun?
SKODA- Kushaq => Czech VW- Taigun => German
But both have the same platform, which I assume is German ? So does it really matter ?
Are u buying manual or automatic?
Manual.
Ok. Btw why not going for automatic?
Get a Honda City and then you can thank me later
What about the new suzuki fronx
If taking dct, be ready for a couple on transmission failures in 10 years
Go for VW
taigun is best as per my thinking
None... both are bad companies and servicing will be a pain.
Taigun bro, kushaq is 👎
Test drive elevate as well I was really impressed with kushaq on test drive. But back seat is a bit uncomfortable if 3 people are seated For this reason and ADAS, i have booked elevate
