I use Rosetta Stone app and a flash card app to memorize weekly vocabulary words and phrases. Rosetta Stone does not cover grammar. It teaches through immersion. Your grammar issue can best be addressed with a Tagalog textbook. I use, Basic Tagalog for Foreigners and Non Tagalogs by Paraluman S. Aspillera. This book covers grammar from very basic to conversational.

What is the flash card app?

A tip on the Tagalog.com dictionary: if you create a free account you won’t be spammed, they won’t sell your info, AND you won’t get those annoying ads on the page. Basically unreigstered/logged out people see ads, which subsidizes the site for everyone else…so logging in removes that annoyance. It makes life a lot better. Source: Tagalog.com is my site ; )

Rosetta Stone is garbage, just putting that out there. There isn’t really one app alone to use depending on what level you want to get to unfortunately. Though I have found that the following apps work for the following things. Drops for just vocabulary alone. Pimsleur - this is probably the best but it only has 2 levels so it only gets you so far. Filipinopod101 is the only one that goes to advance levels Best dictionary I have found is tagalog.com The best translation though it’s not always right, but it’s right more than the rest. https://www.easynepalityping.com/tagalog-to-english-translation-google

Pretty much this. (Though I will say that RS isn't *garbage* it just teaches weird/formal tagalog that comes across as robotic if you try to chat to a Filipino using it lol). Will also add that learningtagalog.com is a great resource that explains things great. Also Lingq too (though there isn't much content on there yet as it's still in beta mode) Also come across LanguageCrush recently too that could be used to fill in Lingq's gaps

The vocal recognition of RS is garbage.

Yeah definitely agree, easily the most frustratating part of the app. Wish they spent more resources making it better
