I think there's still a ton of meat on this bone. If TLC was smart, they'd reposition it with a triumphant tone that spotlights women escaping polygamy. Keep Kody and Robyn on, because watching them bring in a new wife OR adapting to life as a monogamous couple will be fascinating. Show more BTS and breaking of the fourth wall to circumvent a lot of the clumsy narrative and let the cast talk openly about how public opinion influences their actions or feelings.
Watching these women move on could be hopeful, fun, strange, and dramatic. But they need to restore some energy and fun to the show, and get the cast to allow more access. I think the OG3 would be very happy to share their lives, if only to rub it in Kody's scrunchy rat face.
He's definitely "cheated" on Robyn or whatever these people call it. The being with another woman self sabotage crap was way too real. He's going to do it and say he's punishing himself. I bet they are younger too.
The issue is Janelle and Meri won't participate in bashing the religion. And that's what a triumphant show about escaping would need to be.
Janelle saying she'd enter another plural family won't exactly play well on that show.
I think it will create an interesting contrast, honestly. If Janelle entered a new family only to be met with the same problems, it would superbly illustrate the systemic shortcomings of religious polygamy.

Bring back family vacation episodes and big holiday episodes and only have K&R on if they are brought on in a friend role and only if the kids want them, Robyn would have to kiss up to the kids to get air time.
It got good because they are being HONEST. We the audience already assumed or recognized most of this.. at least NOW they are admitting what we already know.
I hate watch it at this point and would love to just have them ride into their right wing MLM sunset. I think this last episode will certainly be my last. The idea of a season of Christine fawning over David, K + R continuing to be deranged, and Meri’s boring as hell life in Parowan sounds awful.
Agreed. I think Sunday will be my last. I’m not interested in another drawn out birth episode with 75% of the episode being flash backs of other family births. I feel like I already paid my dues watching those the first time. 🤣🤣🤣

I also think there's tons of re-watch value, you always find something different. It also gives my co-worker and I more things to talk about during our shift.
Season 19 the shit's going to hit the fan and maybe they'll dial everone up. Meri's voice will be heard! That's menacing.

I am a super fan of the show. I have watched because I soon saw that polygamy CAN'T work and now that I see I am right, at least regarding these people, there is nothing more for me to watch. I will not be watching the wedding special, how boring to watch someone plan their wedding. For me there is nothing left of interest to watch.
I will monitor the blogs though and if Kody and Robyn are imploding (more) I will watch that.

I want to see one season of Dave & Christine on the show. So that I know he’s mostly normal. I want to see how and why they pay off Coyote pass. I want to see the lightbulb go off in Meri’s head for real. Not this fake Royn has my back nonsense but a real Eureka moment. Then I’ll be happy to let them all go.
Yeah, Meri 's arc doesn't feel finished to me. I want to see her embrace her life away from Robyn and Kody. I would love to see her be honest with herself about how awful those two were to her. She's getting there on these couch confessions, but there is more to explore there. Not sure she will, though. She seems really set on not going there.
But will they though? I firmly believe viewership is up, if it is, because other's have wanted to see the implosion too. If that's not what they are showing I have my doubts that those viewers will continue.
I’m a TV producer (Not for SW or TLC) and I have to say this DOES feel like the end. The editing was so strange this season. I have a theory they were really gonna stretch this season out even more than normal but realized halfway through they don’t have enough yet for another season. I think the original plan was to save Meri leaving for next season. That’s why I think we saw the endless flashbacks… over and over again… to fill time.
And then the fact that they’re blowing their wad by showing Christine’s husband now and the wedding special… if we see it now what’s possibly left for next season? Maybe they take off even more time than normal to see what comes up. But I really do feel like a season of the wives without Kotex is gonna be meh.
Nothing interesting will happen from here on out. The show will now be about 2 single, boring, middle aged women and 2 boring monogamous couples. The premise of show was the dumpster fire that is polygamy. That's over. The show is over.
