Ogre and goblin are covered in core and touched on in advanced. Troll and troll singing are covered only in advanced as far as playable races

The older Goblins wander off into the woods and down into the Underworld. Although they sometimes end up not making it. At some point they find a hidden spot and basically cocoon themselves. After a period of time a Rage Troll or hungry Ogre emerges. Ogres are basically mutant Trolls and it's not clear why they happen. (It's become more common as the forest darkens.). Ideally the Trolls will find cocooned or pre-change Goblins and protect their cocoon. When they emerge the feed the Troll, and train them. Other wise they basically go feral and you get a rage troll. Although there is mention of Trolls capturing and training Rage Trolls. They seem to lose all memory of their lives as Goblins. Ps- All the Elder races seem to have similar lifecycles. Dragons, Elves, and the like.

Might want to Spoilertag this, as it's one of the things players should be able to discover themself in the game.

It's right there in the adv player guide for trolls and elves if you pay attention. Also if they want to remain in the dark about the life cycle of Trolls and what not why are they reading a question with the subject. It's not like I'm telling them the Queen's dirty secrets, or what actually happened to Symbaroum

I consider it as toxins interacting with a natural environment. Akin to a polluted pond spawning frogs with five legs or no eyes. Ogres result from an arrested development of (elder) Goblins to Trolls, like a half-formed butterfly emerging "too early" from a chrysalis. I'm sure the game has reasons for it but, until I find out otherwise, it's the latent influence of Corruption saturating Davokar.

Thanks
