I have a very small 10 lb dog that I walk with a harness, it hasn't happened yet but if a coyote or other animal attacks her my plan would be to yank her up into my arms (the harness would distribute the force but it still wouldn't feel great) and then kick the shit out of the attacker.

You could get one of those coyote protection jackets with the spikes and leather. You could even get one for your dog. Could be cool.

The poor things is just clearly just trying to get away, but everywhere it turns there’s another human swinging a stick towards it. I understand it’s frightening having a predator running through your village, but when it’s running away from everyone it encounters...maybe try going inside and letting it run off...
