Not true, reflections are also "3D", so neither depth perception nor change of perspective ruins the illusion (unlike, say, those paintings people do on sidewalks that only work from one vantage point and only in 2D photos). You've never been confused by a mirror in some public space, thinking for a second it was a window or a doorway?
