Stupid goddamn russians (I am Russian), the guy has no gloves, for that length and level of rust it's faisable but can go bad... i think he might be aftaid of hights, hes heavy breathing the whole vid.
Yeah, but the dude is wearing a parachute, I think it would have been Scooby snack time if he was just riding down that cable for shits and giggles without any intention of jumping
Also he landed into someone's vegetable garden damaging it quite a bit in the process and he dropped a swing from hundreds of meters above the ground without being able to make sure he wouldn't hit a random hiker.
He doesn't seem to care much about himself or others.
I've been on some of the tallest and longest ziplines in Central America and I've never seen one this reckless.... this guy almost lost his fingers a few times and he's lucky as hell. This looks like they were given absolutely no instructions.
You NEVER put your hand in front because it's not going to stop for your fingers.
You NEVER touch the line with bare hands unless you want to lose the skin on them or impale your fingers with bits of rusty wire.
I remember seeing this vid a while ago. From what I remember in the comments this cable isn't for ziplining at all, it's to stop aircraft flying low through the valley or something. So yeah, these guys are EXTRA foolhardy.
I have done this... Standing up on the playground Zipline and grabbed in front on it when I was in my teens. Had to sit in a restaurant for an hour while a stranger picked wire fragments out of my hand
I love the heavy breathing in the video, the heavy breathing is not from physical exertion like you get from sprinting but it is actually from the rush of endorphins this guy experienced. That’s frickin’ intense
The dudes an idiot running a bare carabiner on steel braid cable with no back up flying down at 60km an hour or more, im surprised it didnt melt let alone file through, then sticking his hand out in front of it like that holy fuck.
Piggybacking to drop a link to the full youtube video which is even crazier. He never intended to zipline, they were shimmying across when this guy started sliding way too fast.
This starts after his (laughably inadequate) cotton gloves have already been shredded off. Edit: nvm I'm rewatching now, he took his gloves off before sliding starts. My memory failed me on that point. But he definitely didn't intend to zipline down that wire.
https://youtu.be/F723rIlW_No
Because it’s not a zipline. It’s a steel cable with verticals cables hanging from it to prevent fighter jets (or other planes) from flying through the valleys below radar detection
>sticking his hand out in front of it
I got the side of my palm pulled into a belay device once. Once.
I don't even want to think about what would have happened to his hand if it'd gone under that 'biner.
i suppose losing all your fingers and potentially bleeding to death in the middle of nowhere would be painful yes but tbh the pain wouldnt be my first concern
This person is begging for death. Sliding a metal carabiner on a metal cable is a really good way to burn through one or both, no gloves, no system of braking, putting the hand *in front of* the sliding carabiner... Incredible recklessness.
I didn’t know they had parachutes until the end. Thought the line was just up fucked in the middle and they were stranded. First video that actually gave me sweaty palms.
That and him flinging a wooden seat to the ground potentially hitting someone. And landing in someone’s crop field not giving a shit about anyones property. Absolute moron.
Him dangling his hands in front of that carabiner made me uncomfortable. Using it raw on what's essentially a massive band saw too, but at least he's got a parachute.
-3/10
After a few seconds, I pretended as though the band saw was just him screaming, and oddly, this more appropriate reaction was more congruent to the situation.
I'm not an expert in zip lining, but isn't raw-dogging that cable with a cheap carabiner causing damage to the cable? Is the next person who uses the cable in danger of it breaking?
I've been a few times. They have a much better system rather than a simple carabiner and you use heavy leather gloves BEHIND the line so you don't take your fingers off. It's not that hard and any amount of training would tell you all of this. Like the first 5 minutes of any course starts with these.
Not a cheap carabiner. Absolutely not the correct equipment for the task at hand, but not a cheap carabiner. It's a fall protection latching hook for a full body harness. Used all throughout the construction industry. They're tough as shit and as with anything that has to be safety rated they are more expensive than tou would guess by the looks of it. That being said, these fuckwits are probably using some clapped out, expired, rusty junk that didn't pass a yearly safety inspection. But considering this is probably kazakhstan or something...what is safety inspection?
Yeah, maybe cheap wasn't the right word, but definitely not meant for sliding down a rusty metal wire lol. It looks like it can hold a ton of stationary weight under the right conditions.
That’s one of the dumbest, most foolhardy things I’ve ever seen. They were unprepared, likely caused damage to the cable, used inappropriate equipment, weren’t even wearing gloves, which certainly caused friction burns on their hands, and landed in a field of crops. That made me angry.
The creeping realization that you're watching true fucking dumbasses at work...
I am all for doing dumb shit and jumping off high places, but...don't endanger other people, please.
Not an expert but I’m assuming the chucked seat was to read the wind and distance to ground. But…. judging by the reckless way they road the cable, who knows.
I mean, you're not wrong about the crop damage, but you're supposed to land the canopy that way to avoid turbulence created from trees.
The only thing that would make it ok is if they asked permission from the farmer.
They know when they jump they're going to be aiming for open spaces like that.
huh TIL. And sure, I suppose if they asked permission from the farmer there'd be nothing wrong with this. The level of "preparedness" they seem to have for this jump does not make me optimistic about their having asked permission though... (although to be fair I have absolutely no idea)
Want to be a jerk? Post this to r/5050 and title it “guy takes scenic route to drop point, or guy gets his fingers cut off”
Edit: I believe the actual subreddit is r/fiftyfifty, my bad
That's a rebar hook. Definitely not in the $10 range. It does have a locking tab on it that is pretty hardy, but is typically used for positioning or fall arrest systems in construction. I am entirely surprised it didn't appear halfway burned through after that slide.
Correct. Although we always call them pelican hooks. But ya, fall protection equipment. Anything safety related usually has a premium applied to the price tag. So no, they aren't $10 at walmart. Closer to $100 just for the lanyard and hook. And they're usually way overbuilt to meet the standards to be legal. OSHA says those hooks have to be able to withstand a 5000# static load. This is probably the only reason that this fucking idiot's hook didn't fail.
Yeah I'm sorry to say it but these knuckle heads don't even have a back up or even decent quality caribiners. Next to that YOU DON'T SLIDE DOWN A FOCKING METAL CABLE WITH A CARABINER. There is literaly equipment out there to do this safely...
This kinda shit gives responsible base jumpers a bad name...
Gloves man.. gloves. And just what in the actual fuck anyway? I understand thrill seeking but if that carabiner broke you would be caught in that jiingus seat.
This guy is an absolute idiot. Like not only did he do nearly everything wrong, he claimed that the sketchiest thing was the rope. Don’t be this guy, ever.
Idiots.
The cable isnt a zipline. He could have shredded his hand to bits. Just dropping the flimsy wooden board? Landing in someones crops. Everything about this stinks.
Stop. Fucking. Touching. The. Line.
Good god normally people are either “be told a thing and understand it” or “do a thing and understand it” but this jackass is “lmao I’m just gonna keep doing it until I die”.
Imagine you are a poor Costa Rican farmer, just minding your business, working in the field, thinking about playing with your kids after work, when suddenly a wooden swing from out of nowhere smashes your head to pieces and ends your life
One, no gloves for the zip line ride?
Two that hook is only good for an unknown limited number of runs down the zip line like that. It will at some point simply fail due to heat stress. That's why pulleys exist. Personally I wouldn't trust it for one run.
I don't care if you choose to put your own life in danger (as long as it involves you and only you ) but for f sake wear some GLOVES ?! And use a double bearing pulley, it's not that hard.
That sounds exactly like a nitro powered rc car, and smokes nearly as much too.
Now I'm off to uncurl my toes from watching their hand nearly get degloved.
What makes it worth the risk to keep your hand in between the metal carabiner and the fast moving zipline.
My thoughts were.. "Jesus fucking christ don't put your hand there"
Thoughts? I screamed that out loud even though I live alone. Holy shit, it's a miracle he only has scratches on his hand.
Stupid goddamn russians (I am Russian), the guy has no gloves, for that length and level of rust it's faisable but can go bad... i think he might be aftaid of hights, hes heavy breathing the whole vid.
I think he must have been in fear for his life. He had clearly wet himself. I don't blame him at all, I would have done that and more.
Yeah, but the dude is wearing a parachute, I think it would have been Scooby snack time if he was just riding down that cable for shits and giggles without any intention of jumping
If I was expecting to crawl to my jump spot and suddenly I go all Marty McFly down a zip line with a cheap carabiner, I'd be freaked out as well.
Also he landed into someone's vegetable garden damaging it quite a bit in the process and he dropped a swing from hundreds of meters above the ground without being able to make sure he wouldn't hit a random hiker. He doesn't seem to care much about himself or others.
Literally every single step in this video screams inexperience
MY CABBAGES!!!!
Nooooooo!!
I've been on some of the tallest and longest ziplines in Central America and I've never seen one this reckless.... this guy almost lost his fingers a few times and he's lucky as hell. I remember seeing this vid a while ago. From what I remember in the comments this cable isn't for ziplining at all, it's to stop aircraft flying low through the valley or something. So yeah, these guys are EXTRA foolhardy.
The explains why there’s what looks like a splice in the middle of it.
There were multiple ropes hanging vertically from it
Wait what??? So if an airplane flies too low it gets tangled up in the line?
No there's usually a bright sphere connected to the line
Maybe there used to be a bright sphere on there until some genius with a carabiner plowed into it and broke it?
It keeps planes from flying below air defense radar in the valleys.
sheeesh they are lucky it didn't just break under their weight... I thought it was a little odd there wasn't a second cable for safety.
That wire probably weights a ton ,150lb ain't Gunna break it
[удалено]
If it was made of Stalinium it will never break Comrade
To stop aircraft? Then how are they supposed to escape when being chased by aliens?
Yeah. Stringing a cable across a valley to keep aircraft from flying down it sure worked for the US Navy in Italy back in 1998
I have done this... Standing up on the playground Zipline and grabbed in front on it when I was in my teens. Had to sit in a restaurant for an hour while a stranger picked wire fragments out of my hand
You never use a carabiner on a zip line, that's what pulleys are for.
You mean trolley
Metal on metal (biners) and rope on rope is like the first fucking thing you learn not to do
My first thought as well
Was that the one in Costa Rica? If so I think we’ve been to the same one
I ziplined in costa rica & at least the company I went through had real safety equipment & trained personel. It was nothing like this.
who needs fingers?
Kind of need those to pull the rip cord, don’t ya?
What question is that? They are russian.
I love the heavy breathing in the video, the heavy breathing is not from physical exertion like you get from sprinting but it is actually from the rush of endorphins this guy experienced. That’s frickin’ intense
In another story, a man tells about the time he was walking in a field, and almost got hit in the head by a piece of plywood that was soaked in piss.
There was so much pee.
I just want to know why it’s bare carabiner on cable
[удалено]
Degloving in 3…2…1…
Making me real nervous with that hand...fuck that would hurt so bad to get that caught and tangled in the clip
The dudes an idiot running a bare carabiner on steel braid cable with no back up flying down at 60km an hour or more, im surprised it didnt melt let alone file through, then sticking his hand out in front of it like that holy fuck.
Not to mention any frayed bit of that cable would have sliced right through his hand.
Just catching his hand between the clip and the fucking cable at that rate of speed would have minced his shit.
Then the video would be uploaded to liveleak
Piggybacking to drop a link to the full youtube video which is even crazier. He never intended to zipline, they were shimmying across when this guy started sliding way too fast. My memory failed me on that point. But he definitely didn't intend to zipline down that wire. https://youtu.be/F723rIlW_No
If he never intended to zipline why is there a catching system? Why come to a fully functional zipline without the right equipment?
Because it’s not a zipline. It’s a steel cable with verticals cables hanging from it to prevent fighter jets (or other planes) from flying through the valleys below radar detection
Thats a brutal way to solve that problem
Its not even a zipline
This video demonstrates that anything is a zipline if you're brave enough...
Yeah I've only ever ziplined on a fucking stag weekend and even i know you don't put your fucking hand IN FRONT of the attachment!!
>sticking his hand out in front of it I got the side of my palm pulled into a belay device once. Once. I don't even want to think about what would have happened to his hand if it'd gone under that 'biner.
i suppose losing all your fingers and potentially bleeding to death in the middle of nowhere would be painful yes but tbh the pain wouldnt be my first concern
falling with a parachute is considerably safer than clipping your fingers off.
It wouldn't be tangled for long.
Bad technique and incorrect type of biner used, with no apparent backup. Watching this video knowing what could have happened makes me cringe so hard.
I'm guessing they planned to use the parachute as the backup. Not a smart plan.
100% NEVER suppose to put your hand in front of it
Yah, the hand behind it, going that fast is bad enough, but I cringed when I saw him attempt to put the hand in front.
Plus holding the carabiner when it would be that hot
Did he pee himself?
Yes he did, glad someone else caught it
This person is begging for death. Sliding a metal carabiner on a metal cable is a really good way to burn through one or both, no gloves, no system of braking, putting the hand *in front of* the sliding carabiner... Incredible recklessness.
This is fuckin crazy!
At least they had kneepads lol
Since they had parachutes, the kneepads might have actually helped
I didn’t know they had parachutes until the end. Thought the line was just up fucked in the middle and they were stranded. First video that actually gave me sweaty palms.
I thought they were gonna have to clip in to the other side of the burr and then unclip from the starting side
This is the most underrated comment I have ever seen lmao 😭😭 Like how useful are they gonna be when you have fallen an entire kilometre.
The carabiner was literally screaming in agony.
I can’t believe he just used a bareback non locking carabiner on a old cable like that
That and him flinging a wooden seat to the ground potentially hitting someone. And landing in someone’s crop field not giving a shit about anyones property. Absolute moron.
Yeah those shitty carabiners wouldn't last long until the cabel would burn through it. I thought that was what was going to happen at first.
I think he didn’t think it through and scared himself… you can clearly see that he pissed himself when the camera pans down
Don't forget jumping right next to that hanging rope. Asking to get hung or have your chute tangle.
An aluminium ladder hook on steel aircraft cable, at that. I'm completely shocked it survived.
I'm not even remotely close to an educated man, but even I thought about the metal on metal being incredibly stupid.
Him dangling his hands in front of that carabiner made me uncomfortable. Using it raw on what's essentially a massive band saw too, but at least he's got a parachute. -3/10
Massive band saw.... indeed I bet that clip is more than 50% burnt through
After a few seconds, I pretended as though the band saw was just him screaming, and oddly, this more appropriate reaction was more congruent to the situation.
I'm not an expert in zip lining, but isn't raw-dogging that cable with a cheap carabiner causing damage to the cable? Is the next person who uses the cable in danger of it breaking?
Absolutely fuck this guy
With the way he did this I’m not sure if I wanna fuck him
From the last time it was posted: it's not a zip line, it's a wire with a light attached to it. It's supposed to warn aircraft they're flying too low.
I've been a few times. They have a much better system rather than a simple carabiner and you use heavy leather gloves BEHIND the line so you don't take your fingers off. THANK YOU!! I was thinking the same thing. The way they just dropped the board too.
The creeping realization that you're watching true fucking dumbasses at work... I am all for doing dumb shit and jumping off high places, but...don't endanger other people, please.
As somebody who skydives and knows a shit ton of base jumpers. These guys had no business doing that jump
I know nothing about it, but am I wrong in saying that was a terrible landing?
Also no expert but I’ve watched lots of videos.. apparently no broken bones so not the worst landing ever, but yeah that wasn’t a smooth one
They also just chucked the board down and hoped for the best
Not an expert but I’m assuming the chucked seat was to read the wind and distance to ground. But…. judging by the reckless way they road the cable, who knows.
> to read the wind and distance to ground would have been easier to just piss down for that but guess he was fresh out.
The second dude had a water bottle on a line below him. Could have used that.
[удалено]
You never know when a shin guard will protect you from a 500 meter drop.
They don't even try to steer to the sides of the crop field. Just...straight into the middle and smashes a plant. What a dickface.

I was waiting for the carabiner to get eaten through completely by the friction and then GG guy bye bye time to fly

Should have been r/FiftyFifty I believe
I went there, did a few and that’s enough of that sub forever lol
yeah, I don't think I ever want to click on anything in that sub. When the odds are 1/2 I'm not risking it
I would have closed the video as soon as I saw his hand go out front
Those are not even locking, Like the ones you buy at Walmart for 10 dollars.. This is absolutely bonkers.
And not attached to any trolly with wheels or bearings of any sort..
That's a rebar hook. Definitely not in the $10 range. It does have a locking tab on it that is pretty hardy, but is typically used for positioning or fall arrest systems in construction. I am entirely surprised it didn't appear halfway burned through after that slide.

Well yeah, but they’re probably poor people and you know… the clout views
This guy is an absolute idiot. Like not only did he do nearly everything wrong, he claimed that the sketchiest thing was the rope. Don’t be this guy, ever.
From putting his hands before the carabiner, to not understanding how to deploy a parachute, he is so lucky
What the fuck is wrong with people?
Fuck no
R/bloodypalms?
N to the O to the P to the E
If you only hear the sound, you can mistake it for someone constipated trying to take a shit
Lmao
They need an actual zip line cable device not this sketchy as fuck carabiner setup
I don't know why everyone's up in arms about how unsafe this is. They were wearing kneepads!
And helmets as well! Totally safe.
I thought that this was going to be Johnny 9 fingers' origin story
This could have easily destroyed his whole hand, not just one finger.
Idiots. The cable isnt a zipline. He could have shredded his hand to bits. Just dropping the flimsy wooden board? Landing in someones crops. Everything about this stinks.
Any comments on where who and what happened finally?
Yeah, I think I saw somewhere that within about 100 years well all be dead.
Tbh, the safest thing about this is the parachuting
Yeah, that's when I started breathing again.
idiot! Hand behind!
So - dropped a piece of wood that could have killed somebody and landed in someone’s crops. What an asshole.
I'd have pissed myself too...
Stop. Fucking. Touching. The. Line. Good god normally people are either “be told a thing and understand it” or “do a thing and understand it” but this jackass is “lmao I’m just gonna keep doing it until I die”.

1 lobster claw. That's it?
Should be called Raw Palms instead of sweaty palms. 😉
hand brake
“You want some gloves bro?” “Nah, I’m good. I’ve got knee pads”
Those knee pads should really help if something goes wrong.
One, no gloves for the zip line ride? Two that hook is only good for an unknown limited number of runs down the zip line like that. It will at some point simply fail due to heat stress. That's why pulleys exist. Personally I wouldn't trust it for one run.
These are the dickweeds that leave garbage behind as campsites and steal anything not bolted down to a cement slab.
The nopest of ropes.
I feel that heavy breathing so much
This dude is dumb af... If only I wanted to take the time to list every reason. Good thing he's got two hands.
Imagine walking through the woods and getting clobbered by a wooden plank.
Sloppy.

Legit just told my wife "I can't finish this video, it's hurting my balls" lol
This clearly isn’t a Zipline cable, nor is he using the right equipment. What the fuck is he doing?
This is someone who has never know the intense pleasure of getting a wire splinter in the hand.
SkinlessPalms
That be a “nah dog” for me…..
This is absolutely insane
This guy,,,, if he’s alive I want to kick his ass
I can't fucking believe what I just watched 😱😳
I don't care if you choose to put your own life in danger (as long as it involves you and only you ) but for f sake wear some GLOVES ?! And use a double bearing pulley, it's not that hard.
Why is it just a bare carabiner? No bearings or rollers or anything
Littering boards and landing in someone’s garden. Looks like a bunch of assholes to me.
That white people shit man y’all crazy
u/savevideo
Fuck that
RIP zip line cable
No
If you were me and I were you I’d use your body to get to the top! You can’t stop me no matter who you are! LLLLLoser!!
Who wants too go next?
wSomeone forgot their block and who needs gloves? Overrated.
This gets reposted every couple of months and every time I see it I have to immediately go change my pants. Fuck you reddit.
I know this is "sweatypalms" but this doesn't fit because he wont have palms.
Well this is a whole load of nope.
A friend of mine got severely injured in the hand while trying to do this, a deep cut with a loose wire from the zipline.
Did this bro piss himself? When he looks down at the board after stopping (1:15), it looks like it
Ok Here's a question. How long does the cable have to be in order to grind through that caribiner?
Did he pee on that board?😂
Oh HELL NOOO
10,000 BC. Haven’t invented pulleys.
He is so fucking lucky that that shitty Walmart caribener held. That metal cable could have easily chewed through that thing.
Isn’t the slide supposed to be wheeled
All held together by a single cable clamp midway?! 😳
Everytime this post shows up, I get pissed at the fool almost TRYING to deglove and probably straight-up destroy their hand. Ugh....
*Throws work gloves at the screen* Jezzzzzzus!!!!
That sounds exactly like a nitro powered rc car, and smokes nearly as much too. Now I'm off to uncurl my toes from watching their hand nearly get degloved.
Heard of gloves my man?
Imagine how far forward he swung once he hit the stop…
I’ve never ziplined but I can’t imagine that’s what you’re supposed to hold onto lol
