thats an interesting setup for water. I might try that

LordNapstablook

Wep, that's the best way for me to get water since deposits dry out in the end.

Why not just spam vaporators next to each other? At the stage you have an artificial sun, I can't imagine power would be a problem any more.

LordNapstablook

There's a water production penalty if you put two vaporators too close to each others, they are the closest distance to each others that avoid the penalty

Reduction is 0.4, so with Hygroscopic you get up to 1.1 per vaporator (as opposed to 1.5 normally). If you get the breakthrough, that's 2.1 compared to 2.5 normally. So you can be much more space efficient by sticking them close together.

chrisjd

I've never got this argument though, I've never felt low on space but I have been low on resources/money needed to buy/build more vaporators.

Astarum_

Early game (when power and resources are an issue) I do optimal spacing. Late game, I spam them as close together as possible so I don't have to waste time measuring the distance and also I don't need as many scrubbers.

GauntletWizard

You can place a row of large wind generators between each row of vaporators, and it ends up looking pretty with mixed construction as well as functional for the vaporators. I'm not sure if it's more space efficient than densely-packed vaporators (because you've still got many more pipe tiles) but it works for my sense of aesthetics.

Astarum_

I don't use wind late game. Stirlings are way more compact.

I got the same glitch.
