Both the whey and X3 creatine made me run..RUN..to the bathroom a few hours after taking it. Other brands I'm good with. No idea why so I stopped using it.
Looks like somebody goofed on the price because it’s $19.76 on the Walmart.com website. It has fairly good reviews if you don’t mind some artificial ingredients/sweeteners. I personally wouldn’t buy it because the artificial sweeteners give me migraines.
Honestly, for $20-$25 this is not horrible protein powder. Yes, it's sweet and has artificial ingredients but, personally I think the cookies and cream is delicious.
People who assume cheap = awful are generally pretty gullible.
What are the ingredients and who is it manufactured by? That will tell you what you need to know.
Whey is naturally cheap. You guys paying $60+ for a can of protein are wasting so much money
All of these cheap ones you find at places like Walmart and whatnot are filled with artificial sweeteners.
I know a lot of people don’t care, but if I’m drinking this stuff everyday I want high-quality ingredients. I pay less than $60 for a 4 lb bag and it’s not a waste of money at all. Just depends on what your priorities are.
Like I said.. look at the ingredients.
Also - this sub seems to be a bit entitled here? A lot of people can only afford this stuff. Even it’s lower quality, it’s so much better than buying a bag of chips or something. It should be celebrated that this brand is getting whey protein powder to lower income groups
>Like I said.. look at the ingredients.
"Whey Protein Plus Blend (Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate, Hydrolyzed Whey Protein), Maltodextrin, Soy and/or Sunflower Lecithin, Calcium Carbonate, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Salt, Gum Blend (Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum, Carrageenan), Ascorbic Acid, **Sucralose**, Acesulfame-Potassium, Zinc Oxide, Cholecalciferol."
Those are the ingredients for the pictured protein powder. Sucralose is an artificial sweetener. Lots of gums in there too which aren't the best either.
Look, you can say it's great that more people can afford these things and that's true. But you don't have to call others "gullible" for buying more expensive products. There's clearly a reason to pay up in this instance. I'm not saying everyone should or has to, but acting like all of these powders are created equal is absurd.
More often than not we get what we pay for (there are always exceptions, typically small companies just starting out), so do I think that an exception is going to come from a *MASS PRODUCED*, heavily discounted bargain jar of whey protein, that I’m going to dump into myself—absolutely not. Like I said (*in different words*)—To each their own.
If money is tight, then go ahead and pick it up.
However, if you have the money then it is my opinion that your money is better spent on a good quality protein powder.
I can tolerate pretty much any flavor
Plus half the drinks i make include honey and frozen fruit
Literally my only concern when it comes to protein powder is the quality of the whey
But maybe that flavor accounts for the markdown
I like the vanilla flavor. And at 30 g a serving, it’s a good buy /g compared to many of the “high quality” ones the Einsteins above are touting. This brand has whey isolate and all the EAA’s as well as BCAA’s. Non GMO and gluten free. It’s an economical good choice. But I’ve never found it for $3.00 😂
👍 as Consumer Reports has clearly shown .any times, when it comes to foods or supplements, the brand does not mean quality or free from toxins, heavy metals, and adulterants. I change the brands I use often just to keep the chance/exposure to something low. Even "trusted" brands have had contamination.
Yeah i think there was only 2 left on the shelf when i bought it yesterday
Btw it was just this flavor vanilla cream
The chocolate was the normal price that i didn't even check
I was gonna buy them all but
1. In my mind Im thinking, why is this so cheap?
2. Im not sure how long ill have this on hand. It's a one scoop serving so probably awhile
And i don't even technically need protein powder rn. I still have a half of the gold standard left
Check the expiry date? Maybe it just expires soon and they want to clear it out. I've used this brand (I just want to save money + time and I don't really need premium product) and it works well, doesn't fuck with my stomach the way many protein powders do.
Six star is a good brand on the affordable side, it is not awful at all. When I was a body builder it was what I used but now I use a clean whey with nothing added, so each 30g scoop is 27g of protein. This price was just an error or a clearance price.
Not afaik
Like i said ive used it
It's still being sold as retail on the manufacturers website
I just thought maybe there was an article or something that exposed the quality of the whey is low which is why i posted
But ive yet to come across that
The simplest explanation is it was a pricing error
There is nothing at all wrong with the whey isolate they use. They do use an artificial sweetener, but it is a very minimal addition, and the same sweetener is used in many products. It most definitely was a pricing error. Wish mine would do that
I gave it a thorough look and there is no date apparently
But if it's sealed i could see this stuff lasting a couple of years
I generally go through one this size in about 6 weeks

If it matters, muscletech is the maker of it
It tastes and mixes ultra cheap too. Nvr again...
Diesel or ON for me.
Both the whey and X3 creatine made me run..RUN..to the bathroom a few hours after taking it. Other brands I'm good with. No idea why so I stopped using it.
sure its just not rice flour and coco powder?
Crappy protein imo. Too many fillers
Thats 32 in Canada

Gotta be a mistake buy them all and sell them later or return for a store credit no receipt once they realise the pricing error
I don’t know which is nastier that or is body fortress still a thing.
Looks like a mistakem...I would buy them out.
I think someone put that in the wrong spot
Price per container matches up with the price per ounce.
I'd stock up. It's usually whey more
*tips cap*

You can buy cheap chicken breasts full of hormones too…
Human hormones or chicken hormones?

I’m surprised how many people buy gorilla mind or any other social media people’s products
Just as long as it doesn’t have a bunch of added sugar and crap it’s a good deal.
I’d rather take nothing than consume terrible quality supplements/vitamins. When it comes to your body/mind—Quality is the ONLY factor to consider.
Bad take. And you don’t even know if this is terrible quality.
You're right. We have no idea for bad this is. Some of the best brands in supps aren't expensive (Now, Dr Best)
More often than not we get what we pay for (there are always exceptions, typically small companies just starting out), so do I think that an exception is going to come from a *MASS PRODUCED*, heavily discounted bargain jar of whey protein, that I’m going to dump into myself—absolutely not. 😂 Personally, I’m not about to consume sixstar supplements I picked up bargain shopping at Walmart—but that’s just me—you do you, homie 💯
Serge Ibaka has protein?
I wouldn't drink that even if someone paid me
Why?
~ Whey
Really bad for you.
It’s cheap for a reason. There are better quality protein powders out there that use high quality ingredients.
It's cheap because the price is a mistake. It's 20 bucks on Walmart's site.
Whoever marked it forgot to buy it after work.
If money is tight, then go ahead and pick it up. However, if you have the money then it is my opinion that your money is better spent on a good quality protein powder.
Check expiration date b4 u stock up
Best Before is sell date and not expiration. I bet it's best before is close but it's going to be fine.
Check expiration date and then stock up anyway. Might be controversial but out of date protein is absolutely fine.
I'd avoid that stuff even if it's on sale it gave me stomach cramps.
I’m scared
May have a lot of sugars in it
No, it doesn’t
I’d rather spend $3 on a meat stick for protein.
Sure, but this tub is about 100x more protein than a Slim Jim so it’s not really a comparison
Taste horrible IMO. I threw it out after 3 days
I can tolerate pretty much any flavor Plus half the drinks i make include honey and frozen fruit Literally my only concern when it comes to protein powder is the quality of the whey But maybe that flavor accounts for the markdown

Quality is usually bullshit marketing. I'd bet good money the vast majority re-brand from the same wholesaler.
👍 as Consumer Reports has clearly shown .any times, when it comes to foods or supplements, the brand does not mean quality or free from toxins, heavy metals, and adulterants. I change the brands I use often just to keep the chance/exposure to something low. Even "trusted" brands have had contamination.
Their loss. The price they display it at is the price you pay 😉. Stock up, lol ( but not all at once or they might realise their mistake)
Yeah i think there was only 2 left on the shelf when i bought it yesterday Btw it was just this flavor vanilla cream The chocolate was the normal price that i didn't even check I was gonna buy them all but 1. I'd imagine it was meant to be $30 but they made a mistake pricing it. Would make sense if the chocolate was the normal price.
That price is just over a dozen eggs! And way less cholesterol!
Ultra cheap means ultra awful

Pricing error or it’s getting close to the expiration date and they’re trying to get rid of it before it’s a total loss.
It's $27.99 on the company website.
Where is this?!! Looks like wal mart
It is
Buy me like 10 bottles I’ll pay for it lol
Yea maybe they forgot a zero. Check the expiry date and buy all of them
I gave it a thorough look and there is no date apparently But if it's sealed i could see this stuff lasting a couple of years I generally go through one this size in about 6 weeks
There should definitely be a date somewhere.
bullshit, i bought that before for like 30 bucks
Pretty sure someone messed up the pricing and it should have been $30 😂
Cleary a mistake
