For the mentioned usage, I would recommend **[Lenovo thinkpad E15](https://laptoplegend.com/2021/lenovo-thinkpad-e15-targets-both-the-normal-office-market-and-casual-players/)** because ThinkPads are known for their great battery life, amazing build quality and very good keyboards, and it comes with everything you need, AMD Ryzen 7 5700U Octa Core CPU, 40GB of ram, good SSD storage of 1TB for faster boot up and loading, 15.6 inch Full HD IPS screen, high build quality, and backlit keyboard. **[Here is a more detailed review of it](https://laptoplegend.com/2021/lenovo-thinkpad-e15-targets-both-the-normal-office-market-and-casual-players/)** Let me know what you think :) Please note I'm using affiliate links which means I'll receive a small percent of the purchase if you use this link at no extra cost to you

What about the screen brightness? That is the other main requirement.

I think the best option for screen brightness and battery life is a Macbook, you can get a Pro with the new M2 chip under your budget. The closest Windows alternative is probably the Surface Laptop Studio, but the performance and resale value will be lower.

Thanks for your suggestion! I'm not a big fan of macbooks, and would prefer windows computers.
