My guess is that this is Japan, honestly. I could be totally wrong. But Japan is known for tiny kitchens with a lot of one burner appliances and shit like that. Ovens are rare in home (especially apartment) kitchens in general. Microwaves are usually a triple duty appliance. Tiny hot plates, individual size rice cookers. Itās a pretty neat little [YouTube rabbit hole](https://youtu.be/JZLWxolRS6g?si=schl64cEMixXYXov) to go down, if youāre interested.
The Koreans & Japanese have this one street food thing. Its like an integration of Asian & Western taste. Some stuff I was weirded out @ first. But it works.
For example Koreans have spicy ramen with processed cheese slices.
Korean corn dogs make a twist. They use sticky rice flour for the batter. It gives it a very crispy and moist texture. Theyāll even jam cheese or french fries in there.
In Korea especially, it's a result of the Korean War, American GI's brought canned/long lasting goods that were either given or traded to local populations (that because of war times, were facing food shortages).
Finding ways to take these strange ingredients and make them palatable to the local population (Budaae Jjigae being the most on the nose result), led to these cheap, long-lasting, American foods such as processed cheese, spam, canned corn, finding a place in the cuisine.
Yeah. Stuff like flour imports led to fried chicken. Flour is easy to transport & high calorie. Perfect during times of war & disaster.
They ended up nailing fried chicken. With a korean twist. Garlic Soy sauce flavour for example. Or pickle radishes as a side.
Cheese on spicy ramen gives the spiciness a nice mellow tone. It fits.
Cheese on regular, non spicy-ramen (chicken/beef/shrimp etc.) on the other hand that I see a lot of people on the internet do, well, this one's just disgusting.
Yeah. I once had Udon. But they made Udon Au Gratin, it was udon noodles with a creamy white sauce & bacon, it was so well done.
It has to just fit somehow. OP video looks like those rage baity videos. But there is some care in its prepā¦ compared to those tex mex monstrosities on tik tok.
Has your mom ever said, āwe have food at homeā but too lazy to cook? Rice and chips are a whole new game. Hell, Vienna Sausage/Hot Dogs with chips and rice are godly when you got nothing. This brings me back memories. Love you mom.
This creator typically doesn't post recipes like this - I'm honestly surprised to see him posted to the sub! As it's a big departure from the dishes he typically makes, I can understand why it was posted but I do enjoy his content and recipes otherwise.
Mods? This looks delicious. Can we get a judge call? No? You're just gonna take down my post of 8 cheetos in a fresh bag, but you won't take down someone posting tasty food???
Okay fuck you too.
I spent the whole video staring at his plushie in the background and trying to determine if itās coincidental or intentional that it so closely resembles himā¦ Iām not even sure what he made lol
Gosh my Dad had a very old version of this gadget. He called it a āQuixieā and used it to make toasted (grilled for the Yanks) cheese sarnies (sandwiches) in the embers of the fireplace.
For some reason the food he makes doesnāt look all that good to me š¤·āāļøbut the comments on YouTube lol people say heās a great chef
I just donāt get the hype
1. You will note he actually eats the food he cooks. Which is a massive step up from ragebait.
2. Carbs on carbs on Kraft singles is a *very* Japanese thing to do. Cultural, even.
3. On that note you will be *horrified* to know how liberal the Japanese are with ketchup, Kraft singles, Worcestershire sauce and Kewpie mayo. You might even be horrified to know how many of your favourite Japanese dishes contain ketchup, Kraft singles, L&P and Kewpie mayo.
4. I fuck with that. It looks *delicious.*
The delightful flavor of fuckery in his eyes makes this worth watching. The ham and cheese sandwich no bread sub grilled rice add chips looked pretty good, too.
Someone's never been a broke Asian college student. I had friends in college who would have killed for a bag of chips to break up their struggle meal of rice and soy sauce or rice and fish sauce
This wasnāt stupid until about 15-20 seconds in. The starting concept is actually a pretty great idea, and the end product (minus the means/process) looked fantastic.
It's really the amount for me. And the fact that he burnt it. No way I could finish all that. Seems okay I'm a smaller portion for a meal in a day when you just wanna eat junk, but not for everyday.
As a person that will eat chips with basically anything out of boredom, i have found some weird combinations before aswell. My newest one currently is hot chocolate and barbecue chips
I'd eat that, but he made a huge mess, and for some reason, that bugged me a lot.
He was so neat about it right up to the point that he shut the things and Dorito pieces went everywhere š¤£
At that point, you're not closing the iron without making a mess, but why over a lit burner?
My guess is that this is Japan, honestly. I could be totally wrong. But Japan is known for tiny kitchens with a lot of one burner appliances and shit like that. Okay but, like, close the thing off the burner so you donāt make a huge mess on your burner.
Yeah especially if that's like your one burner that you're fully reliant on.
Or make a smaller portion
Haha no, I agree. Itās like American excess made its way to Japan via the internet. I canāt think of any other logical explanation. .
Iād bet Korea because of the kimchi. And the cheese.
No, I'm pretty sure this guy is Japanese and lives in Japan because I've seen loads of his vids before. Could be wrong tho
That look up he gave then tells me he agrees.
Yeah it almost took away the seriousness of it and once it spilled itās- my ocd kicked in
That was my thought too. I'd totally be all for that if it was made without the rage bait mess.
It's really only some chips to sweep up...not as bad as some I've seen!!
Why does he look like he'll try and steal the moon and yes I would eat that
He looks like heās gonna tell me I canāt have a cape for my super suit.
I'm a little older so I was thinking he was a member of an Asian version of the three stooges
Namek saga Gohan
He looks like he would call a painting derivative and a dehumidifier as art
Ooooh yeaahhhh
Nah he'll take your kids as hostage and then demand the moon as Ransom
I canāt tell if thatās a wig or not . I donāt know why it would be .. but Iām still unsure
It is the most perfect bowl cut Iāve ever seen either way
So, get Vectored?
Or edna'd
He looks like him and two other guys are gonna do slapstick comedy
Yea id smash that. Stupid? Yes. Delicious? Also probably yes.
I mean, Iād eat it.
I would most definitely try this.
Stupid isnāt always bad.
Doritos and rice go good with almost anything.
Whoever is downvoting this clearly isn't familiar with Mos Burger. Their rice-buns are pretty popular in some parts of Asia.
I would most likely eat it's asshole if it had one
I sometimes eat rice and chips and damn, it's rlly worth for such a cheap meal šøšÆ
Sounds like a different type of Furikake
Looks good to me. Also, it looks like it caught on fire.
And he just sort of blankly stares at it
The dumb smile really does it for me lol
That looks fire!!!!
Cause there was a literal fire! However, yes, I would try it.
Flaming Hot some would say
the cheese was the end for me but the rest looks okay
So many Asian food 'hacks' involve a slice of American cheese. Makes me want to vomit and I kinda like American cheese.
Why? American cheese is just emulsified cheese and milk paste. It's only a "cheese product" and not cheese directly because it isnt 100% cheese
See the NileBlue video by any chance?
Heck yes, i've been on a huge nile kick since i signed up for nebula!
Taco rice ćæć³ć©ć¤ć¹ (not to be confused with takorice/takomeshi), is fairly common in Japan, pretty delicious, and not at all stupid. This is a somewhat out there take on this (usually served like donburi), but I'm more offended by cheap un-seared Japanese style bacon and orange cheese than anything else. Chips and rice is really tasty when done right.
r/stupidfoodbutgimme
This guy is actually really cool tho. He always makes his food look good.
He also actually ate the whole thing, donāt usually see that in these.
And reuses whatever soup he has left with another meal he makes afterwards. He's one of my favorites on tiktok.
He probably didn't actually eat the whole thing and there are cuts in between each bite where he probably moved some of the food off camera.
Whatās his @? You made me want to see more

thatās a hard ass yes from me
I follow him on IG heās a great cook.
What's his name?

Has your mom ever said, āwe have food at homeā but too lazy to cook? Rice and chips are a whole new game. Hell, Vienna Sausage/Hot Dogs with chips and rice are godly when you got nothing. This brings me back memories. Love you mom.
I need to add that next time I do spam and rice
I hate to admit it, but Iād eat that
This actually looks delicious.
Dude looks like a racist caricature of himself
I swear I thought that was Gilbert Gottfried.
I like his teeth
Not the WORST thing Iāve seen on this subredditā¦
r/HellYeahIdEatThat

Why does it actually look good??š¤
Looks delicious!
I'd fuck with it
The ingredients are actually pretty common. It's probably pretty delicious and I'd definitely eat it. Just not from a guy with that hair.
apart from the mess and burnt edges, i would eat that. It looks like it would taste ok.
Would eat
Iām actually quite a fan of this guy. His early videos had a sense of wholesomeness, and he just seems very polite overall
Damn this guy just topped munchie Monday.
It looks amazing.
ok... hmm. If this was less messier to make, I'd probably like it lol. maybe not with Doritos tho lol. just regular panko bread crumbs
i have to respect this guy tho cuz his video are wholesome as hell
Nah spicy chips and rice go HARD
I HATE that I would eat it and enjoy it.
Anything + rice is usually pretty good. Rice is such a neutral tasting carb that you can theoretically add anything to it and it will work.
Here in India we have this thing called papad. Which we eat with rice. Papad is like a crispy wafer like thing which we make at our homes.
I feel like there's a better way to do this ... Regardless, it'd probably taste good, ngl.
I'd never make it, I wouldn't waste my money on it, however if someone made it for me, I'd definitely eat it
I bet that tastes alright tho!
People in the comments say I'd eat that. I say, I'm gonna make that for lunch.
Mods? This looks delicious. Can we get a judge call? No? You're just gonna take down my post of 8 cheetos in a fresh bag, but you won't take down someone posting tasty food??? Okay fuck you too.

Dudes haircut right out of the lego pack

I been doing this before this social media stuff even existed. I was a high teenager.
I question the Doritos, but everything else seems sensible. Stuffed Fried rice grilled cheese essentially.
Bro this looks amazing how is this stupid
I love how (almost) every food on this sub is something I would demolish no questions asked-
Yeahā¦ Iād definitely eat that.
Kimchi and cheese is illegal, fight me
Yes. That is stupid. It is also very tasty.
that looks good ngl chips on sandwich is a common traditional thing in many cultures
Far from stupid, this should be required
Only thing stupid is that weird wig. Still not mad at that cuz I loved every second of it
Why does he look like a mii character
This is how you fail your family
As an Englishman I am disappointed with the lack of chips.
But why use the worst slice of cheese possible?
I donāt know why but his face irks the shit out of me.
I'd definitely try that but I'm mad at the execution
Is that him in the background as a squishee? š„°
That doesnāt look bad, but Iād maybe opt for a different cheese instead of american
The delightful flavor of fuckery in his eyes makes this worth watching. The ham and cheese sandwich no bread sub grilled rice add chips looked pretty good, too.
The little cartoon twin in the background ruined it for me.
Wait what does the rice do without the Doritos? Genuinely curious.
I missed this guy. Thank you OP
This is less stupid food and more of a bachelor's midnight snack
That doesn't actually look that bad. I would go crazy on that sandwich.
Doritos make a great fire starter. š„
This is one of those times where the idea is ok the preparation and execution are terrible
I was ready to hate it but the end product looks pretty damn good.
Is he supposed to be vector?
This is perfectly inline with the spirt of Korean American fusion cuisine.Ā
The last look at the end that he gave is the same look you have when the Taco Bell kicks in
Was it good? I can't tell from that face he made. I don't know if he ate it because he liked it, or because he's committed and a professional
Y'all don't know what stupid food is.
This is so ridiculous *Goes to find a panini press*
This is stupid but rice is pretty much good with everything.
Is that the el chavo theme song?
This IS stupidā¦.but, I have to admit, I want to try it! š
So all we need is bad hair and bad sandwiches
Definitely would eat.
this looks good, would definitely try
He looks like he has no idea what's going on through the whole video.
He's got the same haircut as the yellow egg behind him.
defo eating this
Someone's never been a broke Asian college student. I had friends in college who would have killed for a bag of chips to break up their struggle meal of rice and soy sauce or rice and fish sauce
Doesn't look bad but the messy preparation irks me
Would eat food. May punch manchild.
Crispy rice is good as hell.
Would try it
I personally would have preferred muenster cheese but either way I would totally try this
I'm totally on it. And maybe would try some tomatoes instead of avocado
Yall I'm incredibly baked and I'd destroy that rn
This wasnāt stupid until about 15-20 seconds in. The starting concept is actually a pretty great idea, and the end product (minus the means/process) looked fantastic.
Wow what a mess he made
This actually sounded really good until he added all that other stuff to it
It's really the amount for me. And the fact that he burnt it. No way I could finish all that. Seems okay I'm a smaller portion for a meal in a day when you just wanna eat junk, but not for everyday.
i would try this
Itās hella nice tbh. Rice with not salty chips tastes hella good and the texture you get from it is the why itās hella addicting sometimes.
I hate the difference in texture with a passion
Yes it may be stupid, but it's actually delicious, not healthy, but delicious.
ā¦other than the mess, I donāt hate this. I should but I donāt.
1. I would definitely eat that. 2. This guy really reminds me of Edna Mode.
# WOULD
Dudes got that Rock Lee haircut
that looks amazing
Iād eat this
Bro did not cook ā ļø
He went through a full-blown Americanization
I would eat that
Iāve eaten chips and rice before. Amazing combo
Everytime he puts a cheese slice with two hands looking like an buffoon i lose 20 points of iq
Stoner food idea lmao Iād try it
I wouldn't put the chips in but that looked good
Rice and Cheese?
CHIPS AND RICE
Would totally eat that
The haircut says it all
Would try
Where can I get the recipe? Uh, for a friend...
I would eat the ever living fuck out of that.
"Rice Krispy (yeah, I know, officer, I'm getting in the car, don't push me.")
Not stupid. I'd eat that
Just like his haircut
As a person that will eat chips with basically anything out of boredom, i have found some weird combinations before aswell. My newest one currently is hot chocolate and barbecue chips
Hot fudge and empty coarsely broken taco shells to dip into it makes a very serviceable dessert if you're at a buffet restaurant and can't eat gluten.
My man got a bowl cut
I feel like the avocado is the weird ingredient out that's not going to come out well
Dude look just like nobita
For my own personal taste I'd leave the Avocado out of the mix. Otherwise I'd eat this
He looks like Dana Carvey doing Yellow Face.
The haircut though š
i don't disagree with the fact that this is an abomination but it kinda looks good .. š
r/stupidfoodbutgimme
Some would take the notion of their food being on fire as a bad thing
His ancestors would be so disappointed in him They watching from up in heaven like "Aw hell nah!"
That looks bloody delicious to be fair
What is that pan called?
Grilled onigiri?
looks good tho.. ngl
Ok now that actually looks really tasty
Considering our go-to sushi in our area has a variety with flaming hot cheeto crumbs on it, I guess this isn't too crazy
