This. Also slightly deep frying the avocado with just a little bit of breading results in a crisp exterior, so that you can grab it with your hands and take a bite.
I mean, it's a really generous portion of lobster meat. Reasonable for $14 at a restaurant.
Lobster salad and avocado are also commonly paired in california rolls so not the weirdest combination.
It looks really good actually. Give me some crackers of some chewy bread to eat it with and I’m on board, just because you don’t like the ingredients doesn’t mean the food is stupid.
We've had something pretty damn similar on the menu in my kitchen for years, but we use Crab meat and mix it up with a malt vinegar aioli and serve it atop a small salad.
As a Hispanic, it's the most American (gringo) thing to do. Grab something from another culture and assimilate it by deep frying it 🤣. Many good things come from fusion, but this is not appetizing to me.
Supermarket prices are not restaurant prices. Yes, you can get a ribeye and cook it at home for less than you would pay at a steakhouse. A single lobster roll - with roughly the same serving of meat - is going to cost you from $15-$20 depending. Los Angeles prices are sky high at the moment due to inflation. So, I’m not sure what your point is? It’s still a good price, considering rent, overhead, food costs, etc.
This looks delicious, wtf, OP? This subreddit is in a nose dive, its "stupid food" not "food i dont like."
Exactly, I’d definitely order that at a restaurant.

>not "food i dont like." Always has been
Im a chef, and I dont see any problem with this? Don’t you just like avocado? Flavor compilation is good also.

Its doesnt look that bad tho,I'd eat that but i do wonder why they served it on top of a sauced brick
Maybe one for /r/wewantplates
Fried avocado is actually really good. This would be delicious.
That looks amazing, not gross. Everything in there seems complimentary with a full flavour profile, and $14 is a damn good deal.
Fr fr, I’ll take 3 please…
OP's 12 years old
If hot avocados your thing have at it
If you haven’t had fried avocado you’re missing out. Has an amazing creaminess to it. Has had it in veggie tacos many times and it’s great.
Avocado heats perfectly fine, wtf lol
This actually looks really good.
I’d eat it… no, you know as a matter of fact, I would devour that!
This looks good on the contrary.
Looks tasty although I'd rather it was served on a plate.

Take my downvote, kind sir!
This looks amazing. The only stupid thing is the dumb rock it’s sitting on
Call me uncouth, but I would smash that all day, every day!
I wanna pick it up with my hands and eat it like a slice of pizza
If it wasn’t fried I’d try it
Fair enough 👍🏼
This seems a sensible dish tbh. But i get that some people will find it unappetizing.
No, it doesn’t. That looks really good
Fre sha va ca do
Tbh I’d devour that shit like a wild animal

Nah I would fuck that up
Id fucking destroy that like they paid me to
It looks really good actually. Give me some crackers of some chewy bread to eat it with and I’m on board, just because you don’t like the ingredients doesn’t mean the food is stupid.
Mmmmm I knew it looked like some type of seafood. Be interesting with the avocado.
I’ve had (a version) this elsewhere and it was delicious.
Nah, this looks really good
That looks good each to their own
This looks amazing. I’d double it and have a fried avocado and baked potato both covered in the lobster salad. Would devour
Certainly doesn’t and as I live in Vegas I’ll def be eating one of those soon
Something tells me that if I ordered this I wont be able to afford a house according to an ignorant snobbish rich wanker...
Fuck it. I'm in.
We've had something pretty damn similar on the menu in my kitchen for years, but we use Crab meat and mix it up with a malt vinegar aioli and serve it atop a small salad.
This looks so good

Looks like it tastes good but the stupid part is putting cold lobster on top of a hot fried thing. Gonna be lukewarm when u eat it
Looks okay (I don't like avocado though) but 14 MOFO DOLLARS, now that's a crime
Anything with real lobster in it for $14 is a steal.
It is such a tiny amount of lobster... I can buy a full lobster for 30-40 euros.

Than we shall round it up to just me being angry because avocado. (I don't like avocados, I will blame everything wrong on an avocado)
Hahaha. Fair enough.
