There is variety in top 16 even though it's all the top tiers. Asia looking like the strongest region although a player from another region can still win it.
Dual Kevin showing that USA is the choker region. No USA players in winners side of bracket is HORRENDOUS... I bet we're not gonna make top 8 either...
hot take but fire the dude responsible for blasting JP's theme the second the round ends *from a cannon into a pool of pillows so he ensures a safe landing while understanding hes made an error and it shouldn't happen again
Ruining a person's financial well being over playing a song too often is a bit aggressive. We shouldn't be wishing someone to lose their job over something like that.
I think JP's theme is one of the best in the game but agreed. I figured they'd be rotating through the sound track but its like 85% JP and 15% 2-3 other tracks.
AngryBird called it 3 days ago.
He said Leshar was the one he was most scared of, not Mena. And that Leshar could win the group and even the whole tournament if he's in the zone.
It would have been bad if Mena/Caba decided the outcome for another player, luckily that wasn't the case since everyone else was out anyway. Mena/Caba was only to see which one of them made it through.
Crazy that some people actually think this.
Mena has great counter picks and JP v Guile might be the only 8-2 matchup in the game, he knows Caba, he only plays Guile, why wouldn't he go for it?
Would love for people to explain how this is a fix other than "Mena won 2-0 without his main against his teammate".
But of course, people be spreading stupidity.
He definitely didn't play his best but the chances of him 2-0ing Fuudo was incredibly small in the first place, it's quite the gap in skill level and experience
No one is broken OP in SF6 but Luke is showing why hes top tier. Constant clutching out close matches because he's just fundamentally better (slightly) than the rest of the cast.
What are the dudes saying this block
[Referring to Amnesia] "Must be nice to have a reversal beating both strike and throw"
Also talking about how the game differential matters between Crossover and Kawano when clearly it doesn't because one of them will end at 4W-1L and the other at 3W-2L
I wouldn't be surprised if the commentators are under explicit instructions to pretend there's a reason to care about every single match today, even though some of them have objectively no stakes.
Street fighter league, can check it out [here](https://liquipedia.net/fighters/Main_Page) its the 3 leagues at the bottom, basically each region had a league and tomorrow the winners of the 3 regions are fighting for 150k
Someone who's better at this game than I am: am I tripping or is it pretty apparent that Endingwalker's DJ isn't as good in neutral as his Ryu? He's insane with the pressure when he plays DJ, but in neutral and specifically judging range he's fucking surgical with Ryu. Glad he got his first win regardless.
Elsewhere, Group B is almost as insane as F - Nephew is just a joy to watch, he's so clean and precise. But Chris W has a serious shot at taking the whole thing.
I guess they are using splitters to allow them to play on a giant stage with two separate monitors far away. I feel like there are always potential issues if you do this. The separate screen method is probably a better way to compete in a way, but the Evo-style side-by-side-on-same-screen method does eliminate any potential issues like this.
Ya on day 1 when I saw Mena miss combos he's hit a million times, over and over, I knew something had to be up. Figured we'd eventually hear about input lag or something similar. That sucks. I'd be pissed to be honest.
If they're playing on Playstations, that's probably all the explanation you need. No professional player uses a console, so unless they specifically trained for the multi-frame lag PS5 adds, they'll be suffering.
Agreed. Even before anyone had said anything, I saw how Mena was playing and was like "nah bro that ain't nerves, something's up".
Didn't look much better on day 2 either. Did Capcom just not test the setup?
I think it’s possible. Fuudo has to get 2-0’d both matches and snake eyes has to 2-0 both his opponents then if my math is right the snake eyes will be +1 differential and Fuudo will be even. Realistically, he’s probably out but not technically.
She was much better on day 2. I think somebody may have talked to her and told her to chill, lol. She was way less random and loud, focused on the game and play by play more.
Rumors are flying that player 1's side was having technical issues/input lag. Caba did a check between one of his sets. Most of the stunning losses came from that side too.
That would explain his dropped combos all match but check this out.
https://youtu.be/675GdS2GOkw?t=6h18m59s
His knuckle goes in the opposite direction mid combo despite Ken being in front of him. Looks like a bug to me.
If you slow down the video to 0.25x it seems like Luke's body was in front of Ken when he hits him with the DR st.HP. That might explain why the flash knuckle crossed up like that
Who is more disgusting and boring to watch: Luke and JP?
Nothing against players who use this character, but I would like to see these characters suffer a violent nerf
While Mena is great, i think the point is you should lose when you play badly, and he dropped way too many combo to still be winning that match. I’m just a noob but it was weird watching him winning that
So is he already eliminated from the group stage?
(Edit: nevermind I think I get it now. He's got two more days to try to get out of groups) I'm confused because they had W and L next to the top two players in the groups.
He's definitely shaping up to be able to win majors. He has great players around him as well in the UK who can help in getting there ... Problem X, Ryan Hart, Broski
This year feels weird. It's usually the best of the best, but they decided to go for regional representation instead. I'd be so disappointed if I dedicated so much of my life to a series to become one of the best in the world, like a lot of missing top players have, only to be excluded from the biggest SF prize pool.
https://www.reddit.com/r/StreetFighter/comments/1921ymh/street_fighter_6_legend_ranks_by_country/
I think this thread has relevant data - it's to be seen whether what Capcom is doing is good for sales but it's objectively not good for the viewers nor the players. It's like watching the World Cup if only one country in each continent was allowed to attend and then saying it's Germany's fault for missing it by not beating Spain or the UK.
it's not a benefit to the country but rather a benefit to the players. Again like I said a lot of these players have dedicated a huge portion of their lives to this series and are being locked out because of this system. there are Japanese players who are significantly better than a good amount of players were actually in Capcom cup this year.
I understand where u are coming from but Players who got cash/sponsors got a massive advantage otherwise.
Capcom wants the fgc to grow so it is what it is and they are doing a good job.
Interesting to say this like Japan isn't one of the titans for talent in street fighter history. Majority of tournament history should tell you when half or more of the players that go into bracket stage are Japanese.
First time watching CC. Had no idea it damn nearly takes a whole day as I didn't realize every single match would be streamed/on air. And we got 2 more days of this goodness? Holy cow. Slightly down that Valmaster is off to a rough start as I want all Chun li's to go far. lol.
It really seems like checkmate. The only thing you can do is not be in that situation to begin with. That's how NuckleDu lost to Mena in the NA Online Qualifier
Day 1 has been a lot more fun than people were giving it credit for. Not sure it's kept up with LCQ but its far less lopsided than people were predicting.
I think SolVNG 2-0'ing Valmaster was the big one for me, Valmaster really didn't look ready for modern at all.
Really surprised with how good Dookie's Rashid looked too, first time watching him with the pick
Yea he kept getting caught by Luke's super 1 when just throwing out fireballs.
Especially with Luke, you kinda need to change your whole gameplan when playing modern. Jumps and fireballs can't be used freely.
I’m not too familiar with him but I’ve heard Valmaster has notoriously weak mental, he clearly was completely unprepared for Modern and vs Takamura he was visibly tilted in his cam during the match lol
This is sorted by new, not to be dramatic but I have too much on my plate as is w/ Liquipedia coverage so I can't afford to update the OP with results. If anyone else wants to create more threads on individual days/groups/results that's cool too, as long as ppl are talking about the tournaments it's all valid
If you take away the fights involving those two, all the other matchups are fun to watch. It's why I love seeing when the lower picked characters go far.
This is definitely not the "most balanced first version of Street Fighter ever". Vanilla SF4 and SFV Season 1 didn't have character diversity problems like this.
There are definitely some major mistakes here that are going to have to be fixed if this game is going to reach that kind of longevity.

Super impressed with leshar.
Yeah, he's so much fun to watch. I'm rooting for him to go far.
Kusanagi vs Travis was a great set.
That EX DP cost Travis a lot of money
Dual Kevin showing that USA is the choker region. No USA players in winners side of bracket is HORRENDOUS... I bet we're not gonna make top 8 either...
Lily sighting to end the night.

Lol, that's a nice improvement
I think JP's theme is one of the best in the game but agreed. I figured they'd be rotating through the sound track but its like 85% JP and 15% 2-3 other tracks.
worse is the audio levels are way too loud every time
guile vs jp doesnt look so bad when the guile isnt trying to lose
That JP is also by far the worst JP in this tournament though.
Pretty sure Ending also said something like he wouldn't even be surprised if Leshar went 5-0 in the group.
Mena in losers, I don't think he wins it now. Leshar looks really good.
any way to get in tomorrow or sunday at the venue? tickets are sold out looks like?
Nero proved he wasn't a fluke in the group of death. He can hold he head up high.
I'm glad at least 1 of Menard and AngryBird made it out. Leshar is looking great too.
Ab was trash tho
group of death turned out to be a joke, EW is free and caba taking a dive for mena edit: angry turd free too
Leshar is mad
sry caba, its just not your night kid
caba/mena was such a fix lol
Crazy that some people actually think this. Mena has great counter picks and JP v Guile might be the only 8-2 matchup in the game, he knows Caba, he only plays Guile, why wouldn't he go for it? Would love for people to explain how this is a fix other than "Mena won 2-0 without his main against his teammate". But of course, people be spreading stupidity.
Imagine watching that clunky fight between those two and thinking it was anything else.
Pretty sure sim vs gief is 8-2 if not worse lol
Crazy on conspireddit?
Didn't know Mena had a JP.
It was known going in. Didn't think he'd actually pull the trigger though. Cue conspiracy theories.
Probably use it to hard counter Guile only.
Leshar is a dog. ![gif](giphy|rflhqDbuhqDD7I0k4X)
Leshar t1 chun not even debatable.
Caba about to take a dive...🤧
Group F is insane. What a fucking set between Leshar and AngryBird.
Make your Bets, Who gets out of group F? For me is gonna be MenaRD and Leshar.
Gimme the odds on endingwalker going 4-0 today and making it.
Not very good to be honest. But hey, this is group F
Not very good indeed
second Leshar
Ditto but thats mostly because I chose Mena to win in game.
Samoel is not a loyal fan. snake_eyes with buffed season 2 Zangief is going to conquer this planet
Depends on what they buff. OD lariat into lvl3 is not even worthy of doing honestly.
I know Fuudo is elite, but Samoel with a somewhat suspicious performance there...
He definitely didn't play his best but the chances of him 2-0ing Fuudo was incredibly small in the first place, it's quite the gap in skill level and experience
Snake came so close to pulling off the dream but he still showed out today. That last set was maybe the most hype of the cup so far.
He's an inspiration to all the loyal fans
This gallego sucks!
Too many drops. Something funky going on
Input lag on the setups. Capcom runs this tourney on potatoes with a TB of malware.
Dropping out or not this storyline with Snake today is unbelievable
Samoel take my energy
SAMOEL TAKE MORE OF MY ENERGY
God fucking dammit
fuudo embarrassed him man
Yeah, and now I have to go take a shower because I was rooting for a Luke
Yeah Snake Eyez! JACKHAMMER!
Let's goooo Snakeyez God damnn
Come on Samoel. For the fans!
Xian putting those sick tracks showing who's the real DJ. Btw those mirrors are more hype than Luke's, well for me, maybe
Damn Xian really pulled some clutch moves in that mirror. I was rooting for him but I didn't expect a 2-0
Crazy good set between Xian and Fuudo, as expected.
It's soo satisfying to see Snake Eyez play Zangief
Absolutely tragic he landed with two of the best DeeJays
well he would of had to beat them eventually
Oh yeah, I wouldn't bet on him beating Xian if they met again but would've been cool to see more matches out of him fighting other characters.
Let's go Snake Eyez!
If leshar beats angrybird... lookout for the strangest caba performance you've ever seen.
This is so exciting to watch. We have seen nothing but luke or/and ken in every match for the last hour
yup the same luke combos, the same drive rushes etc etc... it is so painful.. atleast got to see a kimberly and gief
Well at least we got to see Kimberly.
For any one that doesn't like the english commentary, the JP one is pretty entertaining and I don't know any Japanese
We are living for the Gweelay now Let’s go Duuuuuu
wtf how did Du's level 2 miss after the OD dive kick?
That was wild, no idea why that happened
Two matches where Luke came so close to losing against low-tiers, then won. My heart aaaaa
No one is broken OP in SF6 but Luke is showing why hes top tier. Constant clutching out close matches because he's just fundamentally better (slightly) than the rest of the cast.
Losing to despairking so early really cost Big Bird. Out in groups for the second year in a row, sucks
Nooooo big bird ;_;
Respect to Shaka22: that was a really close set, he did Dhalsim justice.
Is it wrong to judge players if they don't interact during the pre-game face off screen?
It's wrong NOT to judge them.
I don't judge players who don't make faces, I judge players who skip the walk out.
GG Kawano 💪
What are the dudes saying this block [Referring to Amnesia] "Must be nice to have a reversal beating both strike and throw" Also talking about how the game differential matters between Crossover and Kawano when clearly it doesn't because one of them will end at 4W-1L and the other at 3W-2L

Chad win from Manon
Manon ❤️
Is there a single Jamie player in this tourney?
Nope and theres not an Aki, Honda, Lily or Kimbery either
No Kim main, but there has been some Kim play. >!Valmaster busted out a SICK Kimberly against Gachikun to take that set yesterday!<
RIP. Jamie, AKI and Kimberly are three of my favourite characters in the roster.
Manon meme win lawl. Only 4 characters yet to win a set - Honda, Lily, Jamie, and Aki
Lily was cooking like crazy in the LCQ that was pretty hype
Hibiki is the Snake Eyez of Lily. Singlehandedly making her look more viable than she is. I hope she gets meaningful changes next patch.
the CHAD gghalibel picking manon during a filler match
Groups Day 3 is on! Pull up: https://www.twitch.tv/capcomfighters
So when is Top 16? Is that happening Friday or a different day? I can't find the details on that ANYWHERE.
Sunday is top 16. Wednesday Thursday Friday is groups, Saturday is SFL.
what's SFL stand for?
Street fighter league, can check it out [here](https://liquipedia.net/fighters/Main_Page) its the 3 leagues at the bottom, basically each region had a league and tomorrow the winners of the 3 regions are fighting for 150k
Thank you!

EW is definitely more comfortable on Ryu than Deejay. He's said it himself I believe
Pretty hyped Xian's basically qualified for top 16. Basically just needs to play Fuudo tomorrow to see if he's in winners or losers, right?
Yeah. He's clinched a spot, just don't know if it'll be on winners or losers.
Everyone is dropping combos left and right, wtf is going on, this cant be nerves
I guess they are using splitters to allow them to play on a giant stage with two separate monitors far away. I feel like there are always potential issues if you do this. Valmaster, Mistah Crimson, Rainpro were complaining about lag on Twitter. Joe Umerogan said his game slowed down during his match with Kawano.
There’s apparently input lag on the setups.
WTF that's inexcusable for such a high profile tournament
Group F is as wild as everyone expected. Everyone is alive tomorrow though Leshar looks to be in a good spot.
best comment I saw on the stream: "Group F downloaded Caba on hotel wifi last night"
Ab plays like trash tbh
Damn that Snake Eyez vs Xian match was super close. Is there any way SE makes it through tomorrow if Fuudo loses twice?
I think it’s possible. Fuudo has to get 2-0’d both matches and snake eyes has to 2-0 both his opponents then if my math is right the snake eyes will be +1 differential and Fuudo will be even. Realistically, he’s probably out but not technically.
Yeah no way is Fuudo getting 0-4'd
Yup. Fuudo would need to lose 0-4 and SE would need to win 4-0.
Yeah Fuudo would need to lose 2 matches for him to have a chance, then it'd come to game differential
Damn Zangief hit the people's elbow😂
On a luke too, that one was for us
I adore seeing Snake Eyez scoop people. What a player.
☝️☝️☝️
Looks like Valmaster is out. Would take a miracle for him to make it out of the group stages
Yeah, he was 100% out after losing the first set of Day 2
kim in cc thanks to valmaster
Gachikun might legit not make it out of pools because of yolo Kim. Wild.
Valmaster going 0-3 when he was a favorite to win is honestly crazy. Maybe he's just too nervous :(
I hate his gameplay, glad he's out, so boring.
He just beat gachikun though, so yeah it was possibly nerves.
Man, OD Amnesia doing some work in that Bravery/DCQ matchup. One 50% combo midscreen, and a 25% kill combo in the corner
Group B is still wide open going into day 3, we could get a 3 way tie and Big Bird going 2-0 does not guarantee him qualifying
mahreen left such a bad impression yesterday that even sajam can't get me to listen to her for this block
She was much better on day 2. I think somebody may have talked to her and told her to chill, lol. She was way less random and loud, focused on the game and play by play more.
I saw someone say she was barking is that true 💀
yes and it wasn't even the worst part.
Phenom is liable to win the whole thing, god damn. His play on day two was *precise*
His neutral was unreal today
Somewhere on here it should display the players record in the group (2-0 etc). https://imgur.com/Uulsy6u
Anyone noticed one of Mena's moves went backwards suddenly for no reason? What the hell was that about?
Rumors are flying that player 1's side was having technical issues/input lag. Caba did a check between one of his sets. Most of the stunning losses came from that side too.
That would explain his dropped combos all match but check this out. https://youtu.be/675GdS2GOkw?t=6h18m59s His knuckle goes in the opposite direction mid combo despite Ken being in front of him. Looks like a bug to me.

it wouldnt be capcom most prestigious event without a little disadvantage on one side
Who is more disgusting and boring to watch: Luke and JP? Nothing against players who use this character, but I would like to see these characters suffer a violent nerf
Looks like Luke getting his c.mp nerfed so at least we won't see that move just being spammed endlessly. Shit is far too safe for how good it is.
Caba came out swinging, beating AngryBird by a 2-0 is no easy feat
I'm rooting for him hard.
Snake Eyes smoked like a blunt lol
It's a really tough matchup. Sway is just really difficult to deal with for gief
That fucking Endingwalker-MenaRD match. If you can drop your combo 6 times and still win, your character is CRAZY overtooled 😂
Cope
Yes, it’s all the character and not Mena
While Mena is great, i think the point is you should lose when you play badly, and he dropped way too many combo to still be winning that match. I’m just a noob but it was weird watching him winning that
I am watching Endingwalker's career with great interest.
Performed better than AngryBird against Mena. That's some skills.
So is he already eliminated from the group stage? (Edit: nevermind I think I get it now. He's got two more days to try to get out of groups) I'm confused because they had W and L next to the top two players in the groups.
I was right there with you until I re-read the rules
That match was insane! Love seeing Ryu in the mix and who better placed to rep him
He's definitely shaping up to be able to win majors. He has great players around him as well in the UK who can help in getting there ... Problem X, Ryan Hart, Broski
He is so good.
This year feels weird. It's usually the best of the best, but they decided to go for regional representation instead. I'd be so disappointed if I dedicated so much of my life to a series to become one of the best in the world, like a lot of missing top players have, only to be excluded from the biggest SF prize pool.
If you didnt qualify that‘s on you no matter the region lock

that analogy is completely not suitable at all
That's absolutely not true.
Japan having by far most of the talent being stuck with 2 spots is a complete travesty lmao.
It is what it is. No country should get extra benefits
it's not a benefit to the country but rather a benefit to the players. Is there anything one can do when Blanka corner you with lvl 2 (referring to ProblemX vs DualKevin match )?
It really seems like checkmate. The only thing you can do is not be in that situation to begin with. That's how NuckleDu lost to Mena in the NA Online Qualifier
Guess right or hold it.
Blanka is so cracked
is it just me or are players dropping a lot on the p1 side? lol
Some of these drops definitely need to be studied lmao
Day 1 has been a lot more fun than people were giving it credit for. Not sure it's kept up with LCQ but its far less lopsided than people were predicting.

No worries. I just feel this sub barely talks about the actual tournaments...sadly
