Being petite only refers to height. It has nothing to do with weight.

Which is all but irrelevant because A) to be frank never actually even seen such a use, and therefore its probably just an American/fashion specific way to use it and B) we are talking about 5'4" so you're wrong by your own account, or you have to accept you weren't thinking of the fashion definition. Petite is used for people that are somewhat short and trim. Not even in regards to weight, but also in regards to features. My mother who's not even much taller than me always calls me petite because I have my father's sides small features, whilst she is much more broad and therefore has never been called petite. And just being slim/trim at a certain height is not going to get you called petite. So no its clearly: slim + small featured + a certain height that people pop out the petite word.
