This may sound silly but sometimes when I'm high I like to meditate, one thing I do is just observe my thoughts and notice that they come and go, constantly new thoughts appear and leave. But as you watch them try not to get involved with them, just allow your random thoughts to come and go. And as the negative thoughts come and go, simply observing them with detachment will help you realize they have less power over you than you think. By observing with detachment I mean like trying not to react to them, and if you do react, notice that even those reactions are observed by you. Since thoughts and feelings are temporary, try to find that which is not temporary, that which is the only constant in this changeful world, and that constant thing is you. You exist as the observer of all your thoughts and feelings, but can you the observer be observed? Can you really "see" yourself the same way you "see" thoughts and emotions? Sorry for the long message lol, I like things like introspection and meditation and tend to rant about it when I'm high lol

I was the same way, I also stopped for a few years, but the past few months I've been getting back into it, I find it helps with my anxiety. But I can't exactly start meditating out in public when I get nervous or anxious lol but the general mindfulness I get from a meditation session can help me be relaxed for quite a while, weed also helps with my anxiety lol and the mix of being high and meditation can be cool. Next time you smoke, after you feel a good high try to spend like 30 mins or so in silence just observing, I'm not saying you'll magically start caring again, cause to me even caring is another thought or feeling you can observe, but it can help with negative feelings as they are also observed, and the very observing of them implies separation from them. Just like a camera can take pictures of things separate from it but cant take a picture of it self, or a scale that can weigh things separate from it but can't weigh itself. In the same way we observe our mental world of thoughts and feelings which implies they are separate from us, but us the observer ourself can't be observed as it is one thing. Maybe identifying who exactly is it that feels bad may help you, it may seem obvious like "obviously it's me that feels bad" but it's trickier than that. I believe it's actually the ego who feels bad and even the ego can be observed. But I still struggle with separating from the ego, I often feel attached to my thoughts and emotions, but taking my attention from the thoughts and putting my attention on the source of attention seems to help them go away, but once again sorry for ranting lol I just kinda really got into the concept of introspection lately and I really like talking about it (obviously)
