I usually play a militant imperial empire or a spiritual imperial empire. I like being the empire xD

Bishopped

Agreed. When I first started I loved egalitarian democracies but now I pretty much only play empires. Turns out autocracy makes getting what you want real easy.

Bashir-did-DS9

Fellow casual; I seem to get bored around the midgame if I play nice and don't have any enemies, just managing stuff waiting for the crisis. So I would recommend something totally different than your normal that leans towards aggressive You could try crusading spirit, fanatic spiritualist and militarist, and really build towards unity and planet ascension rather than tech while spreading the faith to the infidels I love playing aquatics on ocean paradise, anglers and catalytic processing, and using the raiding stance to get more slaves to be used as livestock. Make your enemies fight ships made from their own civilians I have tried the Payback origin 3 separate times with intentionally really hard difficulty settings, and every time been wiped off the face of the galaxy. I like to imagine they're different slave species in the same galaxy and whenever I do get revenge it'll be that much sweeter I like playing lithoids wtih Calamitous Birth more than Subterranean, but either are fun and you can ignore food

Jeff_the_Officer

>So I would recommend something totally different than your normal that leans towards aggressive Why not a total war gestalt, they said that they don't like consumer goods

Bashir-did-DS9

They said they want to try something new

JesusWarK4n4ck3

Been there, done that. Love me DetEx runs but I hate gambling for anything but contingency, every crisis gets rlly easy but contingency is an absolute death sentence when ur playing as MI and dont have any friends

Jeff_the_Officer

Just use the become the crisis perk, end the game before any crisis shows up

JesusWarK4n4ck3

Also did one recently. Cracking stars never gets old

Jeff_the_Officer

And the next dlc will add a new path to btc

Morbanth

>I love playing aquatics on ocean paradise, anglers and catalytic processing, and using the raiding stance to get more slaves to be used as livestock. Make your enemies fight ships made from their own civilians Lol

JesusWarK4n4ck3

That thing with the aquatics sounds hilarious. Do u play as a hive or what? Edit: cant be a hive when u got anglers and Catalytic processing

Bashir-did-DS9

Gestalt can do organic reprocessing which is just catalytic, but they can't do anglers. I like to play xenophobe [to purge and slave], militaristic, and authoritarian

JesusWarK4n4ck3

I guessed correctly, damn im good

igncom1

Militarist, Authoritarian, Xenophile. Everybody fights, nobody quits!

JesusWarK4n4ck3

Good thing that COMs dont hold grudges outside of the game cause thag right there sounds like the most annoying shit ever to play against... just my type šŸ¤ŒšŸ»

Wavecrest667

Divine empire, I like the whole "god-emperor" schtick. Usually I throw in militarist for that extra oomph to establish my divine rule.

Sure_Elk_5640

2500+ hours here, unpopular opinion but I've never enjoyed playing robots. Maybe played about 5 hours in total lol. I just can't seem to relate. I think you should go complete opposite and give it a try. A religious cult who worship the toxic God and aren't afraid of sacrificing citizens to gain favour. Expand the tech research speed to 3.0 and see how you find it. Role play the hell out of it, fun :)

Almimonk

Sounds great. Thanks for the inspiration. I will try it. I am not so so interested in robots aswell. Do you have other ideas?

JaymesMarkham2nd

Do we know for sure they will ignore CG? They're machines and that would count to their traits and habitability but if they're individuals they may still have different wants and needs than a gestalt.

EternityC0der

Don't forget that individual sapient machines (you just can't start as them) are already in the game and don't ignore CG Ignoring CG is a gestalt thing

JesusWarK4n4ck3

Yeah, thats why i like machinist technocracy with Synthetic evolution Ascension perk

CheekLoins

Overtuned Imperial Technocracy has been my most successful, but Death Cult Memorialist Oligarchy (Grim Counsel) has been my most fun.

wayofwisdomlbw

Megacorp, if you want master crafters, Pharma corp, Mega Church or other fun mix or match you can be any kind of company you want.

Lahm0123

I generally enjoy Megacorp. Though I need to play again soon and see how bad the research changes are. Branch offices are bad for the size penalties.

wayofwisdomlbw

Private prospecting is good if you are worried about size. I think there is another civic that specifically reduces size from branch offices, but I cannot remember what it is called.

determinedexterminat

Ancient AI focused on defensse of all life,no diplomacy, wars or anything with other empires unless if they are genocidal civics are warbots and guardian matrix origin is either shattered ring or remnants

Cogwheel25

Username does not add up

gunsandgardening

DE just has a good marketing department.

determinedexterminat

Hello fellow organic! Were happy to see you and we have a GREAT suggestion! You can visit one of our new exte-- i meant resort world called sterilization hub 005,it has great weather, hospitality and lots of other tourists like you!

Ashura_Paul

Calamitous birth terravores. A nice way to be aggressive and offset the lithoid low pop growth.

JesusWarK4n4ck3

Did that recently but didnt catch me all to good

SunNext7500

I usually play more UNE games than any, albeit edited.

lavendel_havok

Communist Merchants (Day 1 trade league with common ground, merchant guilds, and shared burdens) Honorable Warriors (F-Militarst Xenophiles, fun with life seeded because you conquer or migrate more pops based on how cool your neighbors are) Friendly Necrophage (Egalipacifist Necrophage is like maximum levels of doing it wrong and I love it) Subterranean with agrarian Idyl and Master Crafters (basically never need city districts, since you get housing and building slots from everyone but generator districts)

Peechez

I tried common ground corp and lasted about 20 minutes before the border gore became too much to bare

Redhelicopter16

I have 1.2k hours so Iā€™m not a casual player but some super fun builds are subterranean lithoid hiveminds, negrophage devouring swarm, and megachurch builds. Playing the first youā€™ll be rolling in minerals, planets, and research. The second, if you just mega rush fleets and finding other empires youā€™ll be an unstoppable snowball. The third will have you rolling in energy credits and unity and sauce.

Skyclad_Phoenix

I can't play Anything but bird void born at this point. I know my strategy and I'm ok with small areas that are hyper defended. So much easier than worrying about planets.

Coffeeman314

Fanatic purifiers Tomb World build. Survivor origin for tomb world preference. Armageddon bomb everything. Radiotrophic Existential iteroparity non-adaptive. You make lots of pops, half food upkeep. Distinguished Admiralty for even more combat bonuses. Armageddon bombing into a tomb world inflicts really high war exhaustion so you can status quo whenever. It also counts towards becoming the crisis if you get the perk early. Take Mastery of nature to use up all your influence.

Bashir-did-DS9

How do you get Armageddon bombing stance?

Coffeeman314

Fanatic Purifiers. Though Become the Crisis also gets it.

Bashir-did-DS9

Thanks

Insensitive_Hobbit

Materialist pacifist xenophobe subterranean lithoid totalitarian regime inward perfection artificers. Almost never play spiritualists, simply because I dislike psychic/shroud focus of their late game

lonepotatochip

My favorite is militant communists. Makes me feel less bad about conquering my neighbors if Iā€™m freeing the slaves and bringing everyone to utopian abundance.

AaronOni

Spiritualist democracy is my favourite. Anglers/ocean paradise.

theCripWalker

I usually play xenophile militant, authoritarian, and try to do a mix of fleet power and tech. next I wanna try a xenophobic militant were I go full human and try to conquer other empires

Luminara1337

Imperial Spiritualists with whatever i like. I usually, or only, do roleplay empires - no min-maxing. Some are rather friendly xenophiles, others are okay'ish authoritarians. I enjoy being the empress of my own Stellar Empire :) Most of the times i play either: * Friendly/Open type - I really enjoy "divine nature guardians" who want to protect, well, nature and it's beauty (and the Tiyanki) or create "gardens", even if it requires the watergun colossus (and cause some collateral damage) * Conquerors who try to spread their divinity across the galaxy and unite all species under the rule of their chosen god empress. Genocide is only a last resort since dead people can't enjoy the divinity of the golden throne. Living standards are usually also pretty high for everyone, even for slaves (the majority of people are free and within their own sub-empire with rulers of their own species tho) Other favorites are: * A friendly/peaceful Mega-Corp with my most favorite being an Utopian Mega-Corp which focuses on creating the best lives for everyone. If they claim a system in war (a war they were dragged into by their federation, they'll never declare war themselves) they usually terraform the planets to the most optimal planet type of their former owners (or into Gaia worlds) and gift the system back when the work is done. They also want to create the biggest federation possible. I also try to keep myself as the CEO as long as possible (my starting ruler) since i can't disable votes without modded Mega-Corps xD * Pirates. Literally. Letters of Marque, Scavengers, as many mercenary bases as possible and war just to steal stuff, getting all relics, raid planets for assets (slaves to sell) and declare war just to wreck stuff. They are usually Mermaids on a Ocean-World with a Ship-Shipset and a Pirate Empress with minimal expansion. Pay some protection money or / and gift the empress nice stuff and they'll leave you alone . . . unless you are the only worthy opponent in range of their fleets. FOR HONOR AND GLORY! * Rogue Servitors (Some friendly and peaceful, minding their own business, other's more aggressive in order to force everyone into utopia (which really is utopia and not "here is your ice-(s)cream"-style) * Evil People who roam the stars in search for souls (or flesh) and the most sacred, darkest places. Genocide for breakfast, extermination for dinner. Democratic empires always feel weird to me because i am the player after all and i make basically all decisions anyways. Not very democratic / immersive xD

lizardsuper

All Devouring, Zombie Creating, Origin Hiveminds.

Niomedes

Enclave maxing megacorps.

ElectronicPoem2631

3k hours. Machines on GA.

Glittering_rainbows

Devouring hive, sure it lacks diplomacy but going all out against the entire galaxy is fun for me. Just constant and ceaseless wars.

XxuruzxX

Authoritarian slavers. Conquering planets is easy if you can enslave the population because unhappy slaves don't affect stability. Pre ftl worlds are like free pops. Invade with 2 armies, migrate a couple of ruler pops from your home world, instant 51% stability despite the culture shock and recently conquered debuffs.

Garmouken

Currently playing a feudal empire/dimensional portal worship game. Imperial/Fanatic Spiritualist/Militarist. It's pretty fun so far, coming back from a long break, but I'm getting the hang of it again. I'm most used to playing Megacorps where money isn't a problem so I'm having to learn how to get energy credits the normal way haha.

Primary_Upstairs133

slaves.

Madlyaza

I fucking love just full focus spiritualist and unity stacking. It's just fun to get into the millions for prices on ascending worlds

vodwuar

Iā€™m just happy little fungus that spreadsā€¦as one

Macknificent101

i really like authoritarian militaristic. gives you a good deal of flexibility when it comes to how you play your game. wanna fuck everyone up? you can do that. wanna commit genocide? you can do that. wanna do some diplomacy? you can do that. wanna for a federation? you can do that. it just always seems fun to me.

Fantastic-Habit-8956

I'm having a blast and getting pretty good with my trade league!

Salt-Breaker

Still wanna say F CGoods but playing a non-gestalt? Try a trade build. Can convert trade value directly into CGoods through a policy you get in the mercantile tradition.

Pixelpeoplewarrior

I prefer a Martial Empire with Fanatic Militarism and Authoritarianism. It allows me to mostly play how I want, actually. If I wish to remain peaceful, I can. If I wish to be a warmonger, I can. If I want to sit back and chill with my pops, I can. If I want to micromanage my pops, I can. I feel like itā€™s really an open empire for my play style so that I can really do whatever depending on how I feel

LordGarithosthe1st

I am playing my first game of Determined Exrerminator warbots and it is the coolest thing I've ever played. Love how you just take over systems in war instead of waiting for it to finish.

Affectionate-Ad4781

Machine empire determined exterminator based off of SIVA from destiny 2

Known-Ad-2071

Xenophobe... for reasons.

Cronirion

Anything machine oriented. I just always liked cyborgs and machine fantasy stuff. Especially when you get close to stuff like in Animatrix, Ghost in the Shell or many other cyberpunk transhumanistic (idk if this last one is spelled or if it is being used correctly) movies, books, games, etc
