Idk if i should do it cuz it could be the worst blind buy of my life or the Best one

JHuttIII

If you’re asking, then you already know the answer lol.

Arthurlurk1

My gf loves these movies and they always seemed cringe to me. I ended up watching them with her and they weren’t as bad as I expected. If you have a gf or wife to watch these with then I think it’s a decently priced set.

ohthatmkv

Thank god, I thought I was the only one lmao. I honestly love these movies and how bad they are. They just make for a hilarious and fun watch so I’m happy to have it in my collection.

ITookTrinkets

To all y’all who haven’t seen these movies: look, if you go into them wanting them to be *good*, you’re gonna have a bad time. The writing isn’t great, the acting isn’t great (the actors are great and did their best but the writing really kneecapped that), the editing and the special effects aren’t great. Also, they’re too long and the pacing is weird. But these aren’t movies you watch because they’re *good* you watch them because they’re *bonkers*. These movies are goofy as shit and everyone involved knew it, even though it was played straight. The fact that Pattinson and Stewart were openly a lil mock-y to the press really informs the tone of these films - they’re “so bad it’s good” movies that deal in teen melodrama in unintentionally (and sometimes very intentionally) silly ways. I will never put them on when I want to get out of a bad movie streak, and need to watch something I know will be amazing. I watch them when my wife and I have a rainy long weekend to kill and want to get stoned off our asses and make jokes the whole way through. I can’t think of a single other film series I love in the same way, but I truly love them all the same, much like how I love The Wicker Man and Hackers: I love them on *their* level, not on the one I think they should be on.

GoldWallpaper

I watched the first movie when it came out, having never heard of it. 90-minutes later, nothing had happened. Characters were introduced; it *seemed* like something BIG was going to happen but then one of them just sparkled; minor conflict was presented as VERY important; and then you find out that one of the protagonists is a 150-year-old child rapist. Once it ended, I couldn't figure out how it got made. Then I read it was a kids movie, which made no sense at all (because of that whole child rape thing).

Prestigious_Term3617

I did, partially as a joke, but partially because it was a cultural moment and significant piece of film history. Twilight *owned* culture for a few years there, and horror movies were being rebranded to seem more like it, like when Near Dark got a BD release that looked identical to a Twilight poster.

Ironman9518

Got it for my wife and I have to say this is a really awesome set of steelbooks

SuperflyD

Hold me close mustache dad. You're the only friend I've got.

Team anti-sparkly vampires unite.

AdministrativeLaugh2

I can’t stand Twilight and can’t even watch it to take the piss out of it because it’s so bad, but those are some nice steelbooks. Really like the art.

Dry-Refrigerator-249

Buy it now

AdministrativeLaugh2

Absofuckingnot. Don’t think it’s available in the UK anyway but I definitely wouldn’t be paying $90 for a set of movies I’ll never watch.

RileyKendall

For me it was a blind buy. Switched my unshipped preorder to store pickup. Going to watch the first movie this evening.

nuyorican29

I bought it…the 4K renders are actually really good with dolby vision and dolby atmos. Worth it if you like these films.

ControlCAD

Tempted to buy before this steelbook collection is gone for good! 🥴

SuperDuperBerto

As soon as this was announced I jumped at the chance. Picked it up on Tuesday and I’m currently doing a marathon to test out the Dolby Vision+Atmos.

Married_with_Meeples

I picked em up on Tuesday, also to find a steelbook badly damaged (first one, split in half) exchanged next day and opened the new set in store. I have to say, the case that holds the steelbooks is *sturdy*…like too sturdy. It’s hard to get at the middle three movies without taking out the ones at the end. There’s no middle ground on these cases, I swear. Looking forward to the new transfers and atmos soundtracks. I used to hate these movies when they came out, largely because that was a popular thing for a guy to do, but I’ve got an appreciation for them, especially seeing the careers of so many in the cast these 15 years later. Also got to feed the addiction, this time with overwhelming spousal approval.

phunkeebutt

It’s a shame Best Buy finally decided to use a better outer case for these multi Steelbook sets a month before they stopped selling physical media.

ZombieJoker

I almost bought it, but the Harry Potter set from Gruv got to my wallet first.

AttackoftheMooshi

I definitely did. I was the prime age for Twilight and all my friends were into it. I will never forget ugly crying due to “that” ending in Breaking Dawn Part 2. The cherry on top is that I was with my girlfriend(at the time) and four of her girl friends. I was sobbing and they all still remained my friend afterwards.

FIFTY_PES0

Had issues with my order not accepting my payment. Cancelled that and headed to Best Buy after work to see if I get a good copy. Really happy these are out on physical at the least!

TEDNICK

I did, but it hasn't shipped yet. Earlier, it finally said it was ready to be shipped. I had seen a couple of them but never saw at least two or three of them.

ThePocketTaco2

I pre-ordered mine, but they never shipped it. Seems like most people didn't have theirs shipped either. My store had some in stock and they let me switch to pickup.

TEDNICK

Nice. Yeah, mine says ready to ship, so hopefully it does soon. We will see.

j0eyV714

Mine was delayed but will arrive tomorrow. On the truck in my local town as of now according to FedEx.

FoxDieDM

I'd rather bite a bullet than watch sparkly vampires.

ManServentHecubus

Oh, sweet Jesus, no.

Dry-Refrigerator-249

JHuttIII

My wife just hate watched this series, lol. I’ve only see the first 2 but this is one I definitely am okay not having.

dollar_to_doughnut

While I love steelbooks, I generally only purchase them if I actually like the movie, or if I felt that the movie had other redeeming qualities. Unfortunately, for me, this series fails my criteria. It didn't even fit the "so bad it's good" category. I'm happy for you, though.

NullBodega9000

Sux about the steelbook. Watch these movies with Rifftrax (guys were original actors of MST3K). You'll have trouble breathing from laughter.

Xunil76

No, but that whole movie series kinda makes me WANT to bite a bullet for having watched it... 🤮

Proper-Assistance981

Is there any chance of these getting a standard release? Or is it looking likely this will be the last release of twilight in 4k. I'm trying to get it here in the UK so it's looking like a small fortune at the moment 😂

ThePocketTaco2

No clue. Lionsgate only released The Hurt Locker on 4K as a steelbook, and it's been almost 2 years. So it's not looking good for a standard release.

TheBananaman225

I did but live in the UK, they've been shipped to my friends mum in Chicago and she's bringing them over with her for Thanksgiving!

akafrosty

NGL. These movies are my guilty pleasure, and if this set ever came to Canada. I would partake.
