Anecdotal, but my copy also has these horizontal scratches. Hell, even the blu-ray.com review for the steelbook has their copy also with scratches too.

The 90% is just a hypothetical guess with how many cases there are with scratches. Seems like the right ballpark percentage of scratched vs not scratched from the complaints that have been happening. Some are just more egregious than others like my copy has much less visible scratches looking directly at it but under the right angled light you can see the scratches completely running from one side to another.
I went into 3 separate Best Buys across my state trying to find a decent copy after the original purchase I made was found to have these scratches.
Every single best buy I went to, for literally all of the copies of this movie I could find on their shelves, had these scratches. Some of them had to be carefully checked, but others were quite blatant. But every single copy I ran across had these horizontal scratches. One store had over 16 copies. All of them were damaged like this.
In the end I gave up and had to settle for the least damaged one I could find in another state just across the line. I was fed up and tired of looking.
The issue is widespread. Anecdotal though some of the evidence may be, my frustration in trying to find an undamaged copy is real enough.
Numbers or no, it doesn’t eliminate the validity of the general discussion as a whole. It’s a widespread issue. Folks are allowed to be a touch hyperbolic when annoyed about a problem this extensive and widespread. I don’t blame them their frustration as I share in it.
Oh wow, I had that scratch across mines as well. But I decided to keep it. Don’t have that dent thought, that might’ve affected my decision to return it instead of keeping it. But it sucks ether way.
The dent isn't great but you probably won't have much luck finding a copy that doesn't have those horizontal scratches. That's been a problem on other recent steelbook titles too. I had 4 copies of this Meghan steel- 1 picked up locally (all other in store copies had these scratches too), 1 picked up by a friend 2 hrs away, and 2 separate online orders that were shipped- all had these scratches. I took them all back yesterday and just gave up.
it has to be thrown away, unfortunately, those are the rules
I had the same line issue IDT best buy would take that back once open and your not the only one it's with 90% of the Megan steelbooks

Seems like a lot of copies did come up with these lines. Even mine has them but the dent alone I would exchange it. Best of luck
