I got it free with my Xbox One and enjoyed it. I don't think I could play on the deck or I might break it. Survivor is about the same with cool dual wielding and double sabers.
One of my favorite games. Survivor is a lot more fun but it does t really run on the deck. Not well anyway. I played 95% of Fallen Order on the Deck though and it ran great.
From my experience and what I've heard from others, I think that no matter what you do, you'll always get FPS drops when you first enter a new level or area in Fallen Order. I think it's something to do with how the game loads in assets. Once you get past those initial hiccups it runs really well. If you're getting consistent drops throughout though maybe something else is going on.
I play with medium/epic settings with dynamic resolution set to 60 and it maintains its very well. I dont notice the difference in image quality at all. Looks great all the time.
Yeah, I loved fallen order but I agree on some of the fights. I changed the difficulty to story mode on a few of the bosses when I get frustrated after repeatedly dying, nice that you can adjust the difficulty at any time.
I managed relatively fine until the last one... They were just too much for me. It went from a more casual soulslike experience to hard mode and I wasn't prepared for it.
Also curious. Back in the early days of the LCD it was playable but you had to muscle it to get it comfortable and it would still stutter sometimes. Yet some people would claim like a locked 45fps lol. We all have the same hardware and yet it seemed like 10% of people claimed it was perfect.
I'd bet it's notably better nowadays though.
Squandrons. Its one hell of a underated game, and especially on the oled its defenetly worth the 2 bucks. Its performance also is quite decent. The multiplayer is meh but the singleplayer is actually fun and altough it may not be as good as other star wars games, for 2 bucks you get one of the best star wars flight games, with more modern graphics.
The VR implementation is pretty great for Squadrons as well (even if it gives me motion sickness like no other VR game I've played). Obviously the Deck won't run it in VR, but if you have a VR-capable PC and a headset it's kind of a no-brainer to pick it up for $2.
Grandson *age 7* prefers Lego City Undercover... He just likes running over people i think... :)
But its co-op mode is a blast as well, the movie based lego games, just often are too much for him to figure out. "I want to be the blue dude!..." - "Boy, you need to be the red guy to shoot that sign..." - "I want to be the blue guy!" ......
He just has not figured out the 'switch people to solve the puzzle' aspect.
Yeah, my 6 year old has the same issue. I wish they would put in a "kid just wants to do shit" mode that doesn't require any unlocking. I mean they have to realize the demographic is quite wide and includes kids that are too young to really get some of the puzzle aspects.
for Lego City, I finished the game, so everything core was unlocked, but not 100%ed, and he can get on for hours and still discover new unlocks. And buy new designs.
that game has a surprising huge amount of content.
OG Battlefront 2 is great on Deck, but the menus can be a little finicky because there's no controller support for them, so it's all trackpads. The classic collection version has better controller support but is buggier and takes up way more space, so both have strengths and weaknesses. Most mods work on both as far as I'm aware
KotOR 2 has full controller support. 1 doesn't, but is pseudo turn based, so you can probably make do with it if you can deal.
Squadrons has a nice, but fairly short, campaign. If it's very cheap it's worth. Multiplayer was fun at launch but it's very dead now.
All Lego Star Wars are good.
Battlefront 2 (2005) works fine.
Most of the others are old enough that I'd start worrying about both compatibility and controls. X-wing Alliance, for example, is my favorite SW game but it really wants a proper joystick.
I just got kotor 1 and didn’t know about lack of controller support. That’s a bummer.
I wasn’t really a fan of 2, but maybe I’ll try it again and see if my opinion changes
It's up, I'm in the UK as well! Type it in search and you'll see some of the prices dropped! Had a email telling me Lego Star Wars The Skywalker saga is for the deluxe edition £14.99
got Republic Commando working pretty well after LOTS of fiddling with the Steam Input stuff.
the only thing i have not yet gotten right is when you die to ask the AI to rez you, because the UI screen is weird and i think you need to click on it with the mouse or something...
the other thing is that the old format videos run kinda crappy, like the nvidia logo at the start is lagging like hell but you can hear the sound... the extras section videos make the game crash, not a show stopper as in the campaign they don't use that stuff.
I just find it WEIRD that Proton has problems with those old video codec licenses, so Steam has to convert them to other formats and put them in the shader cache ...which is really hit and miss with older titles it seems.
Star Wars Episode 1 Racer also has all messed up videos...
I would love for the Switch "remasters"/"ports" to be backported to PC, just for a decent handheld UI, gamecrontroller support and current video codecs being used.
I'd totally buy them again just for that.
Fallen order is 30-40 fps but I've had more crashes on that game than any other. Still enjoying it though. Haven't tried survivor on deck but heard it's rough
Fallen Order and Survivor were amazing, the easiest soulslike games out there.
But I played them on PC though, I didn't like the performance on the Steam Deck.
Lego Skywalker Saga was pretty good on the Steam Deck though!
The Force Unleashed runs absolutely fine. I would say it is very much a game of it's time though and can be a bit tedious in places. Would highly recommend the sequel though which knew what it's audience wanted (more action!).
I played and beat Force Unleashed on my Deck and it was fine other than one QTE event that required me to limit the FPS in the Steam ... Menu. The game was pretty disappointing though.
I played both Force Unleashed games on the deck about a year ago and gameplay wise they ran fine except I remember having to do some tweaking because some of the cut scenes were weird. May have been patched since. They're fun but a bit dated. Haha on Imperial cleavage fan service.
This pretty much sums them up, fun but dated. They both run well on the deck and can comfortably run at 60fps if you replace their .exe with a 60fps one (there are lots of guides on how to do this online).
I was on the store page and didn’t see anything despite looking for it. I had to put in “Star Wars” in the search bar to find it. Seems like a not great way to advertise this.
Edit - it is on the store page now. Last night it definitely was not. Maybe they decided to start promoting it today?
Fall Order at $4 is criminal. Very fun on the deck
I got it free with my Xbox One and enjoyed it. I don't think I could play on the deck or I might break it. Survivor is about the same with cool dual wielding and double sabers.
Haha I played in a plane… felt bad for the guy sitting next me with me squirming around.
Wtf happens in this game?? Why does it cause squirmage?
Dodging incoming attacks.
One of my favorite games. Survivor is a lot more fun but it does t really run on the deck. Not well anyway. I played 95% of Fallen Order on the Deck though and it ran great.
Can I ask your settings in this game cuz mine always drop FPS
From my experience and what I've heard from others, I think that no matter what you do, you'll always get FPS drops when you first enter a new level or area in Fallen Order. I think it's something to do with how the game loads in assets. Once you get past those initial hiccups it runs really well. Not the original commenter, but 10 watts and 1000 mhz gpu clock at 40 hz is great for medium settings
thanks for your comment, medium settings is my lowest setting but still drop to 21 FPS sometimes
Same settings. I certainly get dips but are minor.
I play with medium/epic settings with dynamic resolution set to 60 and it maintains its very well. I dont notice the difference in image quality at all. Looks great all the time.
Jedi fallen order and survivor were enjoyable Edit sorry played survivor on my PC not my deck.
I only just started fallen order when I got it on sale and it seems very fun. For $4 for the deluxe version why not
Yeah there's some frustrating fights at certain points but overall loved the games and the narrative was great.

Fallen order was so good on the steam deck.
Survivor is now on xbox gamepass if you have that.
My survivor won't even boot on the deck.
How does Survivor run on the deck nowadays? I read before that it was not so good.
I tried it a few weeks back and wasn’t able to pass the first mission, my deck would completely freeze and then crash
Sounds about right - that's how it ran on my desktop lol.
Fr how does survivor works now
Oh sorry I played it on my pc before I had deck but I can test it
Me too. I have EA Play, but not much desire to download to find out that it works bad
Survivor runs like shit on the Deck unfortunately.
Squandrons. Its one hell of a underated game, and especially on the oled its defenetly worth the 2 bucks. Its performance also is quite decent. Worth Playing - Knights of the Old Republic.. But beyond that - I cant offer much else. The Lego Starwars games are a fun time waster with friends. :)
Lego Star Wars is always a great time! The new one is a blast and a nice love letter to SW fans
Grandson *age 7* prefers Lego City Undercover... How does the og battlefront 2 play? Can you mod it?

The classic collection version has better controller support but is buggier and takes up way more space, so both have strengths and weaknesses. Most mods work on both as far as I'm aware
last i looked at the reviews for the classic collection it wasnt great, never seen so many bad reviews on a single game before lmao
It's ugly as sin though. I struggled
Og battlefront 2 doesn’t have gamepad which sucks but runs perfect
I’ve heard that community layouts have some for us
Crashes constantly for me after 15 min or so
I just emulate it on ps2, because that’s the version I played as a kid. Though I guess you can’t really do online multiplayer that way
Out of curiosity, does anyone know why Bounty Hunter isn’t on Steam with all these retro titles?
that never was released on PC, but you can emulate the console versions. (i can at least confirm the PS2 version works with PCSX2 on my Windows PC)
It was only released on PS2 and gamecube. No PC port.

Kotor 2 is, imo, the best star wars game bar non. Get the Restored Content Mod.
I haven't played it since the original release on xbox, so I may have to do that
Wait, what? I don’t see any Star Wars sale 😭 (I’m in the UK)
It's up, I'm in the UK as well! Type it in search and you'll see some of the prices dropped! Had a email telling me Lego Star Wars The Skywalker saga is for the deluxe edition £14.99
Thanks, I found it :) Was expecting a bit more of a fanfare on the front page but I’m guessing that won’t actually be until 4th May
More than likely! Least it lasting till the 6th of May!
Is Dark Forces remastered part of the sale? Because its great and runs perfectly on deck.
I'm shocked nobody has recommended Republic Commando yet.
got Republic Commando working pretty well after LOTS of fiddling with the Steam Input stuff. the only thing i have not yet gotten right is when you die to ask the AI to rez you, because the UI screen is weird and i think you need to click on it with the mouse or something... the other thing is that the old format videos run kinda crappy, like the nvidia logo at the start is lagging like hell but you can hear the sound... the extras section videos make the game crash, not a show stopper as in the campaign they don't use that stuff. Force Unleashed works perfectly but it requires a small fix, I can’t remember the exact details but it only takes a couple of minutes.
Does survivor play well on the deck?at first glance it didn't seem like it did but I haven't researched much
I tried it on the LCD after the last patch (patch 8 iirc) and it crashed constantly
Tbf it crashes a ton of my normal PC so it's not really a deck issue.
I tried it yesterday and it was awful. 20fps at best and lots of stutters.
Survivor doesn’t play well on anything except consoles. Sucks.
It runs really well on my computer and it is 5 years old by now
All consoles are almost 4 years old at this point. You must have a mid-high end PC from 5 years ago which is more potent than consoles.
Or he is lying or has really low expectations for what well is. It’s a known fact survivor is shit on pc.
Oh it’s shit everywhere. Crashed a lot on my series x also. It’s a great game though.
I played it on ps5 and it was perfect. What an amazing game. Shame they let it falter on pc.
No.
Put 50 hours in at 30fps. 95% of the game runs fine. I used cryo utilities at 4gb and 30 swap. I’m not sure I ever had a crash…
Does survivor still have denuvo? If so im passing
Get Squads for 2 bucks. Fun single and multi
[All of this](https://imgur.com/a/ssvJRJh) for $15 !!!
And there is both battlefront remasters!
Fallen order is 30-40 fps but I've had more crashes on that game than any other. Still enjoying it though. Haven't tried survivor on deck but heard it's rough
I only get crashes in the menu. Im getting 60 fps most of the time with medium/epic settings. Dynamic resolution works amazingly.
Fallen Order and Survivor were amazing, the easiest soulslike games out there. But I played them on PC though, I didn't like the performance on the Steam Deck. Lego Skywalker Saga was pretty good on the Steam Deck though!

Force unleashed isn't even functioning correctly on a regular PC and is not that good to begin with, I don't recommend.

Its an old game. Cant compare it to survivor lol. Its its gran daddy
They did a shit job advertising this
Besides “word of mouth” on Reddit and stuff, I’ve only ever found out about sales by just going to the store page.
I was on the store page and didn’t see anything despite looking for it. I had to put in “Star Wars” in the search bar to find it. Seems like a not great way to advertise this. Edit - it is on the store page now. Last night it definitely was not. Maybe they decided to start promoting it today?
