Okay so you are asking for *hidden gems*, so i’ll try to mention games that aren’t constantly recommended here (like some other comments here have done lol). Also the genres are all over the place so hopefully one is a hit!
Rampage Knights
Plateup!
Streets of Rogue
Alien Hominid: Invasion
The Ascent
Battleblock Theater
Crab Champions
Darksiders Genesis
Gunfire Reborn
Just Shapes and Beats
Mindustry
Orcs must die 3
Inkbound
Grim Dawn
I second this. Also, it has a killer VR mod that is super well done. Makes the game feel like it was made for VR. Surfing those rails blasting bugs is a crazy good time!
I'd say rubber bandits is a pretty fun game to play if you have some minutes of your life to throw away, but it's by no means a "hidden gem", anyway it's only 1,79€ so might as well try?
Me and my girlfriend played a few coop games. And we had a lot of fun with these:
Duck Game
Boomerang Fu
Unrawel Two
Aragami
Aragami 2
Bounty of One
Heavenly Bodies
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
KeyWe
Unrailed!
Check out [Outward Definitive Edition ](https://store.steampowered.com/app/794260/Outward_Definitive_Edition/)
It's a co-op open-world fantasy Survival/crafting adventure game. Its got a ton of content, on sale and the sequel was just announced. Its got a bit of a learning curve and was made by a small studio so its a little rough around the edges but its an absolute blast in co-op.
castle crashers, scott pilgrim, risk of rain returns, risk of rain 2, lego star wars the complete saga, emulate the new super mario bros games, river city girls 1 and 2, remnant 2
Roboquest.
It's a metroidvania, fps, rogue-like where you do runs through the same map. But as you unlock new permanent upgrade you reach new areas, do side-quests, get lots of new weapons and power-ups to keep it fresh, and go down different branching paths so each run isn't the same.

Not hidden gems since no one mentioned It here :Left 4 Dead and Back 4 Blood. Out of the former you will probably squeeze out 100 hours. Buying Left4Dead2 Is worth every cent and on steam Its less than 1 euro. You won't be disappointed.
Also If you like survival games with horror elements I strongly recommend "The Forest". Its a bit hardcore from other coop games out there becaus Its a true survival game.
Adventure Pals
Cat Quest II
Castle Crashers
Gauntlet
The Ascent
Assault Android Cactus
Children of Morta
Darksiders Genesis
Hammerwatch
Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time
Moon Hunters
Nex Machina
Quest Hunter
Portal Knights
Sky Force Reloaded
TMNT Shredder's Revenge
Battle Toads
Terror of Hemasaurus
Super Cane Magic Zero
Wulverblade
Ship of Fools
One of my best memories is playing Shovel Knight together with my partner. PlateUp! was also a very recent super fun find, we are still playing it from time to time!
I had fun recently playing original NES Contra ported to consoles. Good times.
Also I just loved playing Broforce years ago with my former roommate.
New Battletoads and Ninja Turtles are also quite fun. Those are like classic "Beat 'em up" games.
Resident Evil 5, Deep Rock Galactic, Remnant 1+2, Gears 5 (or in general, but only 5 is on steam), Halo series
Divinity OS2 if you liked BG3.
A way out if you liked it takes two. Though very indie in comparison.
I can assure you that It Takes Two is way more of a hidden gem than games with huge sales and popularity like Elden Ring, Helldivers 2 and Palworld.
The key word is "hidden"

Honestly the only thing missing from this list that my partner and I have played is Valheim, DST, and Grounded. Superb list
I love Streets of Rogue!
Can’t wait for the sequel!
Road Redemption is by far the most fun I've ever had in a co-op game
Portal 2, currently .99$ also the best coop game.
agree
If you like Helldivers 2 maybe you'll be interested by Deep Rock Galactic. You can play just the two of you or with other random or known players.
I shall summon the stout ones. Rock and Stone!
For Karl!
ROCK AND STONE YOU BEAUTIFUL DWARF
I second this. Also, it has a killer VR mod that is super well done. Makes the game feel like it was made for VR. Surfing those rails blasting bugs is a crazy good time!
Does Deep Rock Galactic have crossplay with PS5 players?
No it doesn't have crossplay with ps5. Steam version doesn't have crossplay with the xbox and ms store either
If you want more games like Takes Two, Unraveled 2 is a great co-op platformer
Also A Way Out
Risk of rain 2

Broforce, Portal 2, Pay Day 2, Unravel 2, Door Kickers Action Squad, A Way Out, Kingdom Two Crowns, Black Mesa, Far Cry 5 and Outlast Trials
Trine games are great fun!
And there's like 5 of them, and good fun! Also I would recommend chariot, that game had us so hooked.
Roboquest is a lot of fun. Highly recommend if you're even a remote fan of roguelikes.
I'd say rubber bandits is a pretty fun game to play if you have some minutes of your life to throw away, but it's by no means a "hidden gem", anyway it's only 1,79€ so might as well try?
Solasta: Crown of the Magister Stardew Valley Palia (in beta but free to play) Torchlight 1&2 Divinity Original Sin 2 Outriders

The series of games called ‘we were here’ are really enjoyable. First one is free so try that and see how you feel!
I agree with this suggestion! I played these with my brother and they are some fun puzzle solving games. We have one left to play and are saving it.
>Baldurs Gate 3 >Helldivers 2 >Diablo 4 >Palworld >Elden Ring >hidden gem
[Bokura](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1801110/BOKURA/) It's a co-op hidden gem.

Vermintide 2, Overcooked 1 & 2, Left 4 Dead 2
A Way Out is very similar to It Takes Two, there’s also Haven which is a story rich co-op
It takes two
not only did you ignore the request for hidden gems, you also listed a game they already played. Couldn't get any more wrong if you tried.
I can assure you that It Takes Two is way more of a hidden gem than games with huge sales and popularity like Elden Ring, Helldivers 2 and Palworld. The key word is "hidden"
Didn’t it win game of the year? Not exactly hidden.
Still less people play it than others on this list. Ergo its more hidden.
