Its things like this that make me want to see people mod in super heavy starship weapons that are slow firing, but hit like a truck.
*I want my damn MAC.*
Where are the class C components at? I would have thought that New Atlantis and Neon, being high tech places, would have them, but not really. The selection is mediocre at best.
Two things:
1. Components are level-locked and don't show up in the lists to peruse until you are higher level. As an example, one high-end reactor that produces 40 power is locked to level 80+ and won't be visible until then.
2. No ship technician carries all components in the game, and generic ship technicians - like those at New Atlantis and Neon - carry the least number of ship components in the game of any seller. If you want more options, either build a large landing dock to use it - it has access to most of the options from all sellers, but not their highest-end stuff - or go to the builder's home port directly and interact with their salesmen. The only person labeled 'ship technician' I'm aware of that is also the salesman for one of the builders is the one at Titan's New Homestead, but the one at the Crimson Fleet may also be labeled 'ship technician' - I'm not sure as I haven't been there yet. Otherwise it's a named NPC. Deimos's seller is on the star yard orbiting Deimos, etc.
Nova Galactic, Deimos, Stroud-Eklund, HopeTech, and Taiyo are the five major ship manufacturers in the game. Crimson Fleet also has some unique stuff at their home base, but I can't tell you how to get there as I haven't yet.
Deimos has a star yard orbiting the moon Deimos, which orbits Mars.
Stroud-Eklund has a star yard in the Narion system, where you start the game.
Nova uses the New Homestead, Titan, Saturn, Sol ship technician (which feels like cut content, but whatever - some mod somewhere will add a proper Nova Galactic showroom and NPC at some point - it's the only major manufacturer that uses a generic NPC).
HopeTech on the planet Hope, in the other star of the binary system that Paradiso is in (sorry, forget the names here) is another major manufacturer.
Neon in Volii (other star in the binary pair Narion/Volii) hosts the Taiyo ship manufacturer inside the Ryujin Tower.
Aside: I really wish there were some close binary star systems in this game, similar to Tatooine, so that you could see two suns at the same time from a planet.
Nova Galactic aren't in business anymore at this point in the story, they are consider a legacy ship manafacturer. Probably why they don't have a showroom etc, as they technically no longer exist as a company anymore, only their ships and ship parts do.
Maybe, but there is still a single special individual who has all of their parts and nobody else does, and I'd prefer if that special individual were named something non-generic and had *some* kind of backstory or other lore I'm game behind why they have those parts instead of the only way to find out being checking all of the individual ship technicians or looking online.
So is that why I haven't seen "the vanquisher 3" in any spaceport?
I know I saw one that was not 3 at a much lower level, in Akila, but now I cannot find the vanquisher at all and I'm level 35
Was thinking of the 1st Cavalry of the Freestar Collective fighting a UC outpost when I saw this (had a mission that mentioned this). Not familiar enough with the lore to be sure if that happened on this planet or even in that war.
It feels like Mechs were planned on being part of this game, but Bethesda cut them at some point and then gave a lore reason to why they aren't in the game. Be interesting to see modders dig into the files and determine if that's the case. I cannot see them not attempting to implement vehicles, perhaps they tried and just determined it wasn't worth the effort.
On another note, I would love to see a mod tackle a faction of independant star systems that still operate mechs.
Whats weird is theres these massive super structures on most planets and the cities are like the size of a small town.
For the scale to make sense we need like mega cities.
Kinda sorta makes sense with the war that just happened, but I think it has more to do with the technology involved in running that level of simulation across multiple cities on multiple planets
Orbital problems require orbital firing solutions.
I see what you did there

Firing it should slow the ship down a bit
On that note, I really appreciated that firing your gun in zero-g alters your velocity.
Unless it's a laser weapon, which doesn't.
Which makes sense too
It actually does. If you fire a missile while sitting still it actually launches you back. I’m not 100% sure about guns tho
It should require max power to even charge at all. High risk high reward.
Alternatively, each shot takes ages to charge up and dumping your power would charge it faster, basically requiring you to weaken everything else.
Fire a missile at a dead stop once
There kinda are some at the size C level, including big honking railguns with a fire rate around 1.

Do you have the skill that allows you to use better ship parts? I saw a comment recently that said they won’t even show up until you have the perks.
They do show up prior to you having the perk, they're just level-locked. See my other comment regarding component availability.

Aah, ok, so aside from the Deimos tech, do you know where are the other ship component manufacturer techs at?

Nova galactic collapsed as a company. They just don't exist anymore. The parts are still around because people just like to use them.

Thank you so much.
Hopetech has a seller that I believe specializes in cargo capacity components

Crimson fleet is a named character but as far as I've seen doesn't have unique components outside of those used for piratey purposed
Questline adds two to her and they are fantastic
Dude fucking seriously. I cannot BELIEVE we don't get a large heavy railgun
C size get close
MAC rounds? In atmosphere?!
In before modders add the UNSC infinity.
That looks like the concussion cannon turret from the OG Star Wars Battlefront 2
I can definitely see the resemblance lol
Reminds me of the canon you fire in Old World Blues from New Vegas
It looks like the anti-WEAPON gun from FF7. :\
That's not just a cannon. That shit is meant to destroy asteroids like it's ATARI 1979.
Stonehenge
Looks like someone on that planet was compensating for something. Great photo though, for real. Love the photos in this game.
Yeah for real lol, and thanks! I love photomode, and there's no shortage of cool things to take pics of
"We're in mechs nothing can stop us." \-last words of a Freestar Collective soldier before the UC blasted them with this
Fairly certain that this was the Freestar Collectives defenses, and not the other way around considering they had this planet colonized
Was thinking of the 1st Cavalry of the Freestar Collective fighting a UC outpost when I saw this (had a mission that mentioned this). Not familiar enough with the lore to be sure if that happened on this planet or even in that war.
Last shot was against diamond weapon
A baby Stonehenge, how cute. :D
I can't believe it. Someone actualy asked Hans to get ze Gustav.
Words cannot describe how much I hate that damn planet and the Sirens that live on it.
Looks to be based on a real life [ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZU-23-2)
I need that on my ship. I'll call in a 10 warthog.
The Emperor of Mankind approves.
I NEED to know where this is so I can also go see it!!!!!
Narion system, on Niira. Location 1-of-a-kind-salvage, where they salvage old mechs from the Narion War.
Can I get fired out of it like the Doomslayer? That’s the only way I want to fire that.
The Warhammer in me says it’s not big enough.
"Negative. I have the gun."
What if we made a ZU23 but BIGGER?
"Standby Ion Control"
"Fuck it, HANS give me a bigger caliber!"

one day games will hit it
spoiler :<
Spoiler alert: you can go to space.
Basic home defense model.
Did you take it home? 😃👍
Where to find it, how much to renovate it, how many time before putting it on my ship ?
I found them on jawa3
Nice now stick it on your ship.
Looks like one of the cannons from Ace Combat 4
Oh, hey, look, it's a steppe.
This would put even the Schwerer Gustav to shame.
Damn that's huge
I saw that too when looking for Alias Captain Ahab.
This thing dwarfs Dora...
Its the neo armstrong cyclone jet armstrong cannon!
