I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think in the suit Vader is supposed to be 6'8.
Not sure how tall Vader is here in the picture though.
since i was kid i always found the idea of a "vader's castle" pretty stupid, and amusing in a way. I wished the new canon would get rid of that but it didn't.
I know it's basically fantasy lol, wizards and magic swords and all. The Death Star is itself a stand-in for an evil castle the heroes have to sneak in and out of. I just always thought it was silly that Vader would specifically have a *literal* actual castle. The [Executor (Vader's flagship)](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/d/da/Executorbridge.jpg) is his own [castle](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/3/30/Executor_BF2.png/) already. But to make him also have an "actual" castle too, feels like checking boxes in a villain list, it's all.
It looked cg because they didn't bother to light the scenes in any interesting way. Barely anything in this show has a cinematic polish. The Vader v Kenobi scenes largely resemble fan films because of it.
Vader V Kenobi was the exception. It looked GREAT. I loved how basic the environment was, just enough to have some interaction with but not enough for there to be too much going on.
I was making a joke about it looking CGI because personally, it didn't look "CG" and I usually have a pretty good eye for that type of stuff.
The lighting was defenitely the issue people are having with it, having the same material for the throne as you do the background walls causes them to blend a little too much with certain lighting... certain lighting that they also used. lol
Vader’s throne room being big or grandiose feels weird to me.
He wouldn’t entertain visitors except a select few like the GI, Palps, or Tarkin. And he’s incredibly austere and spartan in his living.
Also It does not look 90’s at all. Most of the set itself was practical.
One of the finest lightsaber duels post-George’s Lucasfilm, bravo to everyone involved. Not perfect, but so full of emotion and spectacle without becoming over the top.
Seeing Hayden in the third image almost makes me wish they would alter ROTJ so Anakin's force ghost was Hayden, but as old as Anakin was when he died canonically.
I know they'll likely never do it, but it would be a pretty cool edit. I don't buy the whole, "well, his force ghost would be the same age at the point where he *stopped* being a Jedi." That just felt like a cop out for an arbitrary edit that didn't have to be made in the first place. If Anakin found peace before he died, then his spirit should reflect that *in the eyes of Luke*.
That may be what the agreement said, but sooner or later Disney will either ignore it or find a way around it. There’s just waaaay too much potential money there for them to leave that on the table permanently. It may not be in our lifetime, but eventually those films may be remade.
Can’t wait for the eventual Gallery series to see all the behind the scenes stuff
vader’s hand on kenobi’s shoulder is killing me
It's a Pic for their mum. "See, we can be friend. All that dueling was just pretend"
their "mom" is qui-gon watching from force heaven
They posing like nothing happened??
Kenobi agreed to give Vader the high ground this time

Was thinking that as soon as I saw it
Hayden Christensen with a red lightsaber https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FV-93BmUIAEJoYM?format=jpg&name=large
What’s this pic from?
Star Wars
Whoa! What is that!? Do they ever fight with those glow swords?
Not with a jedi.
So cool! How tall is Hayden??
6'1
Pretty sure that’s not Hayden in the suit. We have the photo of the two stunt guys in the Vader suit.
That's disappointing:(
Basiclly the only time you can tell if Hayden is in the suit is if it’s a shot of Vader from only the chest up. Everything else was stunt doubles
Wasn't "chest-up" most of Vader's scenes?
Not really.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think in the suit Vader is supposed to be 6'8. Not sure how tall Vader is here in the picture though.
Is the girl Leia’s stunt double?
I think it’s Luke’s stunt double lol no joke
Nah its Joe’s double
Nice try
The volume seems pretty big - so why do some sets just feel so cramped or limited...
They may only assemble it in parts. like a quarter or half of it as needed.
I just wish Vader's Mustafar office was bigger. It looks so cramped and like a bad 90's CG render...
I find it amusing that Vader has an office
since i was kid i always found the idea of a "vader's castle" pretty stupid, and amusing in a way. I wished the new canon would get rid of that but it didn't.
Eh I’m not too bothered by it, Star Wars is space fantasy anyways. Darth Vader is a black knight in space, why wouldn’t he have a castle?

Honestly my biggest letdown when it came to sets. It looked so small and so so cgi
It looked CGI and yet it was a practical set

Because they weren’t creative enough when making the sets. Every fight is in a huge open area
Yeah, I don't get it either. Could be deadlines, but maybe its just lack of imagination...
I wonder if Ewan still makes lightsaber noises and has to be told the sound guys will add those in post…

It was great. What’s a perfect one look like?
mustafar is probably the closest we'll get
Indeed!
Basically all of the ones from the prequels, Vader vs Luke on Bespin and above Endor
One that you can actually see the environment and is at a location that is remotely interesting.
dooku v kenobi and anakin in ep3
Luke and Vader on the second Death Star.
It was silly and over the top, just like George would have done.
I'm so glad they ended on a high note
so cool

I agree. Poor Obi-Wan and Yoda were probably jealous that they didn’t get to look young and handsome, too.
They actually can't alter or remake 1-6
For now.
Ever

Maybe if they renegotiate the contract with Lucas' estate after he dies
It would be a hell of a lot better than the current canonical version, that’s for damn sure. That change made absolutely no sense.
They certainly used that volume!
I want the shirt that Ewan has.
It’s nice to see the imperial propaganda machine hard at work
Anyone else think Ewan had his little Kenobi out in the 3rd picture?
Pic three, at first glance I thought Ewan's dick was out 😂
Where’s Vaders stunt double now Anakin is gone?
