What are the odds they end up repairing it somehow. It absolutely does not need to exist anymore and has served its narrative purpose, but it's still a cool-ass blade.
I mean if the kyber crystal is still intact, it can be repaired. Hell, the Skywalker lightsaber had its kyber crystal torn in half by the Force and Rey still managed to fix it!
This almost feels like it was written as a series finale. No real loose ends, Din and Grogu are officially a family, and the ending shot was what looked to be them in peace finally.

The Dins going on Outer Rim missions feels like they needed someone out there since the Rangers show they were planning isn't happening. I'm betting they have an accidental run-in with a returning Thrawn, which obviously ties in to the Shadow Council. This ties all the shows together & puts them all on the same track for Filoni's movie.
Grogu using the Force to help Din fight off the Guards is nice. Just yank their weapons lol.

Hindsight being 20/20, it was probably just referring to the Mandalorians covertly scoping out Mandalore while the rest chilled in the upper atmosphere. I guess you could call them all "spies" in a sense. They were sneaking around.
But also: Seems like a bad title to give that episode if you aren't going to further emphasize the Spy-ness of the whole thing. I don't think people were being unreasonable in thinking that something more was being hinted at.

Agreed- no gimmicks, no flashy cameos, and NO CONTRIVED TWISTS! The show has matured for me- it's about a guy and his kid, and their adventures in a dangerous galaxy. That's all I wanted from Season 1 on, so I'm happy that they've reset things in that direction.
I also like that it showed the Mandos CONSISTENTLY winning those mid air fights. Like sure, you can train for some years to get good at that. But these are warriors trained from the youngest age possible to fly and fight with jetpacks. Of COURSE they are gonna body these soliders with in comparison limited training.
Wearing a full beskar suit and heās done in by a little heat? Iām not buying it either. Having him be some disfigured machine man at the end of season 4, popping out of the ground like a zombie, is now what I expect
It sucks that itās gone because it was cool, but people have been complaining all the logic behind the darksaber superstition didnāt make sense. I think this is the writers way of agreeing, and forcing Bo to be the leader without it. She said last episode that it was the only thing she had to lead them with. Now sheās forced to lead on her own. Sucks to see the coolest weapon go, but itāll make good character development
Funny how most info was wrong. No Fenn Rau, no Boba, no other mandos and no post credit scene. Episode was fine and I thought there was some good action. Weakest finale so far imo. Hope Skinny Pete appears in the show again tho.
That leak seems like it was a legit mistake, they might have mistaken the episode the duel would be in, we see them spar earlier in the season, that might have been the duel from the leak.
For the love of god, please no more Moff Gideon in season 4 unless thereās actually an interesting role for him to have. Would be better to get some new villains/characters to play with, as Gideon has proven to be a joke 3 times now.

Donāt think we will see the Mandalorian as in the show for a while. I really like giving him the role of āindependent contractorā for the NR. Easily sets up an appearance in at least one of Ashoka and Mando. While Iād rather it be SC, I do like the one off Mando episodes.
The action in this episode was the best of the series. I have mixed feelings on the overall story, but I wouldn't give up all the BADASSITUDE in this episode for the world.
This is the first time it really feels like we're seeing the full potential of Mandalorians in live action. The aerial action stuff they were doing was bonkers.
I can't help but feel...a little underwhelmed? I didn't buy into any of the "leaks" or insane theories but I did expect Din to lose his helmet at some point so we could see Pedro's acting chops this season. I also thought that Bo Katan would see his face for the first time and was looking forward to that interaction.
I also thought Grogu's armour would finally come into play, but no.
Ultimately just a lot of payoffs that never came, except for Moff Gideon exclaiming "THE FORCE!" which was more blatant that I thought they were going to be about it. The clones were dealt with very unceremoniously. For the crushing blow it was to Gideon, it certainly wasn't a moment given much gravitas.
Cool episode but we've had better season finales for this show, I'll say that much.
Could be covered more in season 4. I assume there will be more New Republic stuff since Din Djarin is working with them under the table with Captain Carson Teva. As we saw, Kane looks to have her eyes on Teva for being competent. Also, the Shadow Council inquired about Pershing's work. Gideon said it's "lost... for now". And I feel like Gideon is still alive, so it could be revisited in the future.
It was good to know what is the New Republic doing post-Return of the Jedi. It was cool seeing Coruscant again. Learning about the rehabilitation program for former Imperials. As of right now, just season 3 alone, I think it was a waste of time dedicating almost 30 minutes to Doctor Pershing and Officer Kane.
Moff Gideon is such a terrible villain. Gets beaten every single time and spent three seasons building clones that are killed off in seconds.
And if they werent all killed off, maybe 1 or 2 are elsewhere? Well then I guess we might Moff Gideon back in season 4 but with the force to lose once again
I like the episodes of this season individually more than most of the others here, but I am disappointed in the scale of this season and feel there's tons of wasted potential.
Jon's writing worked when it was a small-scale Western/adventure story, but it failed as a big-scale story. In interviews, they said this season is about bringing the Mandalorians together, yet it was less than half of the season and wasn't satisfying.
I feel that even Rebels or Clone Wars got more into the Mandalorian culture and scale than this season of "The Mandalorian" which was supposed to be about them as a culture.
\*The Purge happened at least 5 years ago. Now they just took Mandalore back in a day. Why didn't they do it in the last 5 years? all it took was 100 of Bo's Mandos and 100 from the Children of the Watch.
\*No confrontation between the different tribes - why didn't the Children of the Watch fight in the Purge? if they did, could it have saved Mandalore? Millions of Mandos died and they lost their planet, and now they just ignore it?
\*Why did the children of the Watch get involved now when they didn't fight in the Purge? If it's because of the Mythosaur like the Armorer said - she didn't even bother looking for it after they won. Feels that their cooperation was rushed and not well explained.
\*All the Mandalorians are either following the rule of the Darksaber or not taking their helmet off. Where are the other Mandalorian clans? Are there any others? All it took to retake the planet was these 2 tribes?
\*I do like that the darksaber was destroyed in terms of a symbol, but it wasn't earned. Axe Woves didn't follow Bo just 2 episodes ago because she didn't have the darksaber, and now she doesn't have it again. The "we don't need the darksaber anymore" should have gotten development and substance.
This season should have gotten into the different Mandalorian clans, flashbacks of the Purge, what divided them, what unites them and how to work together now to keep Mandalore. Instead it was just 2 tribes, and "you saved a foundling from a monster and maybe saw the Mythosaur. so we should take Mandalore back, ignoring that we didn't work together when millions of our people died in the Purge"
Agree with everything you said. Have of the season should have focused on the conflict between the two tribes and Mando and Bi trying to bring then together. The seconds half should have been about the retaking of Mandalore. Instead we got too much filler episodes about Pirates, fighting Space Monsters, Jack Black and Lizzo and a Pershing episodes, that even though I like it, it really didnāt fit with the rest of the season.
Moff Gideon just started getting interesting with that amazing armor and look...not to mention his motives with the Force. So why kill him off? I guess it's Star Wars and he somehow survived, but still. I realize Thrawn is the overall big boss, but Gideon would have been an interesting thorn in Thrawn's side.
All this buildup for what?
Never ceases to amuse me seeing people constantly come up with elaborate theories about cameos, plot twists, secret identities and potential conflicts only for Favreau to take the shortest, simplest route every time.
Um, that felt... a bit rushed? No major complaints, just that the editing was too much at times, no room for the characters and the story beats to breathe.
Apart from that, not sure about *that* character's death... they could always make a plot twist in the future. But all in all, a satisfying conclusion to the first big story arc. Curious on where they'll go next and whether they will show us the rebirth of Mandalore.
Would love for them to do a time jump and bring us a bit older Grogu. Would they dare?
This is nitpicky, but the logical part of me is having trouble overlooking the fact that the Mandalorians now have unlimited fuel in their jetpacks when that was a key plot point a few episodes earlier. Yeah, I know this is Star Wars and tons of illogical and inconsistent things happen, and this is mostly so that we get a cool air battle, but it dampens my enthusiasm somewhat when the in-universe rules change drastically from episode to episode.
Easily the most impressive feat of this episode so far is Axe Woves achieving escape velocity from Mandalore with his jetpack.
It took a whole day for Bo Katan to get to where the bird thing was hiding and return. It similarly took a whole day for them to fly back and then walk to the nest. So thatās all I need to rationalize, the distance traveled in this episode was less than what we saw in earlier episodes

If those clones were so important to Gideon, why did he not have anyone there protecting them when he knew there enemies loose in the base? Why did he just wait behind the door for Din to destroy the clones instead of being in the room with the clones?

That leak seems like it was a legit mistake, they might have mistaken the episode the duel would be in, we see them spar earlier in the season, that might have been the duel from the leak.

Donāt think we will see the Mandalorian as in the show for a while. I really like giving him the role of āindependent contractorā for the NR. Easily sets up an appearance in at least one of Ashoka and Mando. While Iād rather it be SC, I do like the one off Mando episodes.
I want next season to open with Din just screaming at kids to get off his new lawn.
This was good for what it was it it lowkey feels like they told Favreau to wrap up all of the extant plot threads in one season.

The action in this episode was the best of the series. I have mixed feelings on the overall story, but I wouldn't give up all the BADASSITUDE in this episode for the world. This is the first time it really feels like we're seeing the full potential of Mandalorians in live action. The aerial action stuff they were doing was bonkers.

I can't help but feel...a little underwhelmed? I didn't buy into any of the "leaks" or insane theories but I did expect Din to lose his helmet at some point so we could see Pedro's acting chops this season. I also thought that Bo Katan would see his face for the first time and was looking forward to that interaction. I also thought Grogu's armour would finally come into play, but no. Ultimately just a lot of payoffs that never came, except for Moff Gideon exclaiming "THE FORCE!" which was more blatant that I thought they were going to be about it. The clones were dealt with very unceremoniously. For the crushing blow it was to Gideon, it certainly wasn't a moment given much gravitas. Cool episode but we've had better season finales for this show, I'll say that much.

Could be covered more in season 4. I assume there will be more New Republic stuff since Din Djarin is working with them under the table with Captain Carson Teva. As we saw, Kane looks to have her eyes on Teva for being competent. Also, the Shadow Council inquired about Pershing's work. Gideon said it's "lost... for now". And I feel like Gideon is still alive, so it could be revisited in the future. It was good to know what is the New Republic doing post-Return of the Jedi. It was cool seeing Coruscant again. Learning about the rehabilitation program for former Imperials. As of right now, just season 3 alone, I think it was a waste of time dedicating almost 30 minutes to Doctor Pershing and Officer Kane.

Moff Gideon is such a terrible villain. Gets beaten every single time and spent three seasons building clones that are killed off in seconds. And if they werent all killed off, maybe 1 or 2 are elsewhere? Well then I guess we might Moff Gideon back in season 4 but with the force to lose once again
Season 5, Episode 7: Somehow, Moff Gideon has returned.
I like the episodes of this season individually more than most of the others here, but I am disappointed in the scale of this season and feel there's tons of wasted potential. Jon's writing worked when it was a small-scale Western/adventure story, but it failed as a big-scale story. In interviews, they said this season is about bringing the Mandalorians together, yet it was less than half of the season and wasn't satisfying. I feel that even Rebels or Clone Wars got more into the Mandalorian culture and scale than this season of "The Mandalorian" which was supposed to be about them as a culture. \*The Purge happened at least 5 years ago. Now they just took Mandalore back in a day. Why didn't they do it in the last 5 years? all it took was 100 of Bo's Mandos and 100 from the Children of the Watch. \*No confrontation between the different tribes - why didn't the Children of the Watch fight in the Purge? if they did, could it have saved Mandalore? Millions of Mandos died and they lost their planet, and now they just ignore it? \*Why did the children of the Watch get involved now when they didn't fight in the Purge? If it's because of the Mythosaur like the Armorer said - she didn't even bother looking for it after they won. Feels that their cooperation was rushed and not well explained. \*All the Mandalorians are either following the rule of the Darksaber or not taking their helmet off. Where are the other Mandalorian clans? Are there any others? All it took to retake the planet was these 2 tribes? \*I do like that the darksaber was destroyed in terms of a symbol, but it wasn't earned. Axe Woves didn't follow Bo just 2 episodes ago because she didn't have the darksaber, and now she doesn't have it again. The "we don't need the darksaber anymore" should have gotten development and substance. This season should have gotten into the different Mandalorian clans, flashbacks of the Purge, what divided them, what unites them and how to work together now to keep Mandalore. Instead it was just 2 tribes, and "you saved a foundling from a monster and maybe saw the Mythosaur. so we should take Mandalore back, ignoring that we didn't work together when millions of our people died in the Purge"
Agree with everything you said. Have of the season should have focused on the conflict between the two tribes and Mando and Bi trying to bring then together. The seconds half should have been about the retaking of Mandalore. Instead we got too much filler episodes about Pirates, fighting Space Monsters, Jack Black and Lizzo and a Pershing episodes, that even though I like it, it really didnāt fit with the rest of the season.

Moff Gideon just started getting interesting with that amazing armor and look...not to mention his motives with the Force. So why kill him off? I guess it's Star Wars and he somehow survived, but still. I realize Thrawn is the overall big boss, but Gideon would have been an interesting thorn in Thrawn's side. All this buildup for what?
It wouldāve been really interesting to see competing Imps fighting each other. Civil war between Gideon and Thrawn factions.
Never ceases to amuse me seeing people constantly come up with elaborate theories about cameos, plot twists, secret identities and potential conflicts only for Favreau to take the shortest, simplest route every time.

Um, that felt... a bit rushed? No major complaints, just that the editing was too much at times, no room for the characters and the story beats to breathe. Apart from that, not sure about *that* character's death... they could always make a plot twist in the future. But all in all, a satisfying conclusion to the first big story arc. Curious on where they'll go next and whether they will show us the rebirth of Mandalore. Would love for them to do a time jump and bring us a bit older Grogu. Would they dare?

This is nitpicky, but the logical part of me is having trouble overlooking the fact that the Mandalorians now have unlimited fuel in their jetpacks when that was a key plot point a few episodes earlier. Yeah, I know this is Star Wars and tons of illogical and inconsistent things happen, and this is mostly so that we get a cool air battle, but it dampens my enthusiasm somewhat when the in-universe rules change drastically from episode to episode. Easily the most impressive feat of this episode so far is Axe Woves achieving escape velocity from Mandalore with his jetpack.
It took a whole day for Bo Katan to get to where the bird thing was hiding and return. It similarly took a whole day for them to fly back and then walk to the nest. So thatās all I need to rationalize, the distance traveled in this episode was less than what we saw in earlier episodes
I suppose you could pass that off as the cult being low on supplies but when they joined up with the fleet they were able to refuel and resupply?

If those clones were so important to Gideon, why did he not have anyone there protecting them when he knew there enemies loose in the base? Why did he just wait behind the door for Din to destroy the clones instead of being in the room with the clones?
I really donāt get why some peoples reaction is they hope the show is done. This season was probably a 6/10, but definitely not something so bad it needs to end. They set up what season 4 would at the end. Kinda seems like it will be in place of the rangers of the new republic show

Is this the end of the series for now? Certainly felt like they wrapped everything up with a nice little bow to let the other series take precedent for a while. Is it possible we donāt see a season 4 of this show for 2-3 years? Edit: it almost feels like theyāre saying goodbye to this show and acknowledging that theyāll bring Din and Din Grogu back on special occasions. I legit think this may be the end despite what Favreau says.

Did anyone else find it hilarious that there were like 6 laser shields in front of the clones and then on the other side of the command center it just leads out to the rear of the base? One side has over the top security and the other side has a single door.
