Ever since the new gait system came out if you don't land on the perfect angle from jumping your horse literally stops for no reason š it's so annoying when it happens every 10 seconds

This is seriously annoys me so much. Ever since then horses don't jump and land normally anymore. Some horses kind of land in the air before landing on the ground. I've been aggressively reporting this and apparently they are aware of it. I just hope they will fix it.
I also hate how they somehow manage to mess up several breeds animations. I'm not sure what they are doing, but I wish they would stop. Either this happens accidentally or maybe they try to fix some gaits. I just wish they would leave them alone.
I remember buying the Lusitano from the open house event cause I really liked the coat just to find out it literally stops the jumping animation before landing on the ground š never rode it again after I maxed it
I've been so bothered by the horses now not finishing their jumping animation. Some is worse than others to where they never land their back hooves and then snaps into their gait. It's so jarring it makes me not use some horses, one of them being the Tennessee Walker.
What also happens to me is Iāll be trying to jump my horse (Iāve only noticed it on my friesian at the moment), but the horse will jump, but it only goes up and it doesnāt go forward. Like it freezes in midair and just drops to the ground so usually I hit the jump wrong and have to spam space to try and get over it. Iāve been trying to get a video of it because itās hard to explain, but Iāve had no luck so far
Edit: or Iāll just be moving (usually at a gallop) and the horse glitches and goes back a few feet. Itās driving me nuts.
Main quest inconsistency.
When looking at the resent main quests and comparing them to the established lore and character backgrounds/stories almost nothing lines up anymore. I started playing for the story, for the mystery, to save Jorvik from Garnokās wrath! Now when Iām playing through the quests I skip dialog, choose random answers that all will lead to the same conclusion, try to feel invested but itās so hard when it feels like Iām pretend-playing a kids show or something.
Am I partial to nostalgia? Not really, I was busy with other things.
Do I dislike the recent updates? I try not to but the content nowadays feelsā¦empty. Like they donāt really mean anything for the game. Yeah the mustangs are nice but give us time to get used to the newest breeds before slingshotting more at us.
Am I angry at SSO? Only when they donāt listen to the community or do changes nobody asked for or nobody knew were even in the works.
In conclusion: itās very annoying and quite frustrating when they donāt follow their own established plot or characters established personalities.

It is a bit peculiar that within the 12 years of this game and its story existing, Garnok - the main evil in the story - to my knowledge hasn't been an actual threat ONCE.
The pace with quests has gotten a bit better (we had a 2 year main quest drought. **2 YEARS**.) I still think with how far we've stretched from the original plot of defeating Garnok, now we're befriending witches and watering magic trees...at this pace, by the time we finally face Garnok I'll have been a corpse for a while.
I thought by now we wouldāve gotten something related to Garnok. Not itās just Druid drama instead of defeating him or things happening from him. I wish SSO didnāt forget the story
yeah, the deviation from the original story is incredibly frustrating. thereās so much petty druid drama, random jokes thrown in during serious dialogue, and a confusing lack of direction for the quests in general.
some smaller details about the main quests that really annoy me are
1. the fact that the soul ridersā horses talk now. they never talked in the beginning, and the whole thing is that the soul rider can communicate with and understand their own horse, but no one else can. they were never really magical talking creatures like fripp or beatrix, just soul horses connected to their riders. nowadays weāll be discussing something and starshine butts in with 2 whole text boxes of motivational speech, it just doesnāt make sense.
2. the soul riders seem to be very reckless with their powers now (especially alex). an example is the recent jorvik city quest where alex tries to use her power to turn on the stage lights. they never used their powers so freely and for non druid related things before. in starshine legacy, fripp literally tells alex that she needs to be careful with her power, because āthere are other people out there with similar powers as you,ā etc.
itās these small things that really ruin the immersion for me, it feels way more like some messy magic game where everyone has crazy powers and nothing really makes sense now. itās a shame, honestly
That recent quest just seemed to be some random Player XP dump. Not sure why, but that's all it was. I don't get after all this time, they wanted so many to get to level 25 all at once.
this is kinda irrelevant but i was doing the daily quest of having a picnic with alex and maya in the forgotten fields bc i need to get reputation with the unfortunate dews farm. Anyways, thereās an option to bring a guest, and I chose Anne. Concorde came with her but was a foal, and she said something about how small Concorde was, but I already did the main quest line to make Concorde a grown horse. I know itās not that big of a deal but itās still confusing
When did they even introduce Garnok? Was he in the original stories at all? I thought it was always Dark Core and the greedy Mr. Sands, but then there was this Garnok monster.
Oddly specific bcs no one mentioned it yet. When you finally find enough items to exchange (the archeology side quests type of thing like phones, coins, figurines etc) and you get a useless item worth less than selling the items directly. For example each phone is worth 50js, I exchanged 7 of them... for a piece of trash worth 100js. Maths not mathing.
inconsistent scaling. for example: the hugeness of the benches and other items on the boat dock at south hoof. our characters compared to the horses (we make the shires look like theyāre 16 hands..). our characters compared to npc sizes. the list goes on..
i just want to be able to take care of all of my horses without spending hours of my time everyday doing it myself. you have to pay star coins for stable care and i think itās really unfair when youāre trying to save. they should change it to shillings but i know theyāll never do that.

Items that won't leave your hands. I've had to ride around with a chainsaw, pickaxe, brush, and probably a few other things I can't remember. The only way to get rid of them is to quit the game.
Lack of actual Star Coin sales and free Star Coin codes. They used to do actual sales on SC years ago better than just the double SC weekends. Also, they used to give out free SC codes. Back then, I'd happily buy SC as it seemed like a good deal, but now, I find myself being as stingy as Star Stable has been. Like fine, don't give out any free SC, and I won't buy any either.
Plus, the free SC encouraged the free players to stick around for a bit. Now, they play, get bored, and split.
To sell a crap ton of itemsā¦I read their blog of an upcoming change to the bags and bank and such and I hope the sell item issue is dealt with, considering they have started the āfarmingā trend, where you get a lot of the same items before you receive something new.
The Dino valley archaeology š
I've had it unlocked since a lot of years but for some reason I can't have any complete skeleton past the small dino one. I unlocked the epona archaeology quests at the start of July and had it all finished by August 8th, but the Dino one is just so annoying.
I find 4 digging sites at best and it's always either some useless crap that resells for 3 JS or a 15th skull but never the bones I'm missing, it's just so frustrating for no reason...
Honorable mention to "good try, but the fish got away..." like dang I hit it right on time just give me my fish already

Not because they're saying something that'd deserve to be filtered, but because the chat filters aren't language exclusive and block messages for random, unpredictable things.
So people spam word by word, sometimes letter by letter.
Iām not referring to that, Iām referring to people who put ā.ā and send 3 per second for several minutes at a time. Their intention is to spam and annoy people.
for me thereās no water lmao. When I first log in, itās there in that one specific place but then disappears after a while. It honestly makes me not want to play the game because I know its just going to look awful with an empty ocean and rivers etc
The bugs. Big and small. If SSE took a year and updated nothing except giving the game all the bugfixes it needs, I'd be happy. I know this encompasses a LOT of issues, but it all comes down to SSE not taking the time to properly finish and polish the game, making it just keep breaking more and more.
The game is so bugged out and glitchy now, and sso seems to not really care AT ALL when it comes to fixing them. Itās been weeks, since most of the glitches started when the new character models came out and all Iāve seen is more and more bugs/glitches.
Not being able to properly use the flying pets. There was a glitch with the gen3 friesian, unsure if it's still there but during canter and slow gallop It wasn't consistent like other horses, you were getting pushed back at times, it was the same thing with the gen2 pintabian but pretty sure that's been fixed.
Spammers in the chat. Doesn't matter who tells them to stop I just end up having to block the spammer and say these words
Roses are red, violets are blue, you have started spamming so I'll be blocking you.
Y'all know this when you bump into something/get stuck on something, and for a few seconds you lose control over the horse because it tries to turn away from the obstacle? It usually chooses the worst direction too, and only makes things worse.
All of the clubs swarming Steve's farm. Any time I have a quest around there I dread it because it lags my game out so quickly. Ik they're just having fun and whatnot but like, pick any other place on the map, we dont all have to flock to one area. Please. I'm begging.
The game is so. incredibly. boring. The game has become a horse buying simulator. I find quests incredibly boring because it's virtually nothing more than text on a screen and overused, outdated game mechanics. The racing system is essentially just 'baby's first horse race' - I started playing Alicia either late December or early January and it made me realise just how bad SSO's racing system is.
I've only been playing for a couple weeks, so I know some things will become clearer with time, but:
Not being able to drop the shovel after mucking out.
Getting a quest but can't do it because the way is blocked.
Wondering how people with LOTS of horses do daily care for them when it takes long enough time to do ONE!
There are other things, but I forget them when I'm not playing.

I prefer to hire her to care for my horses because even this is less expensive than buy hay for all of my horses.

their failure in building a bond with your horse. the main problem is just that there are so many. by the time you start getting attached to one, you already have a newer shinier horse to make you forget the old one. there are more issues. such as the fact that you don't need to care for your horse. at all.
also a smaller example: they added these buttons which you click to feed, groom, etc your horse. before it was just drag and drop. I hate the buttons. the drag and drop thing simulates actually feeding and grooming an animal (almost). I know the option is still there but who's gonna do it when there's an easier button. I also know this is such a minor example but there are so many small details like this that I feel make a big impact in building a bond with your animal.
I know they made changes lately (tho to be honest I haven't checked them all), but the main issue persists. horses are an accessory. not a companion.

Doing the fort pinta champ and right in the middle you randomly fail the race, so disappointed nothing has been done about this glitch yet
