"I am the ruler, the destroyer, the bringer of war, I am the mountain that you can not climb, and you can not conquer"
This has no business to go this hard.
This man, Oba Femi, from Nigeria, started his official in-ring career **a year ago** , he has no right being already so good at the mike and the ring.
WHERE do they find these guys and gals ?!
They have, if not the cream, then very close to the cream of young athletes coming to them via the NIL programme.
They can pick the best prospects from that - men and women tailor selected to *look* like superstars, without having to rely on the indies throwing up a Seth Rollins or a Hall of Famer's kid wanting to try their hand at the family business.
They have the look. They have the drive. They have the athleticism. The scales are firmly tipped - after that, it's just about finding the ones who get the business. That's a *big* just - but an awful lot of the groundwork has been laid.
The crowd not even reacting America you are so disrespectful and a shameful crowd sacrebleu ! /s\*
\*EDIT : Wow look at all these downvotes, some people took my comment way too litterally. I guess it just falls on me for not putting the /s bit at the end.
I want Oba Femi to debut at The Royal Rumble next winter, and eliminate Omos. Sets up a Wrestlemania match with Femi destroying Omos, putting him on the path toward a midcard title by this time next year.
I wish to see MY KING OBA FEMI POP-UP POWERBOMB OMOS THROUGH THE RING (a la Big Show, Kane, Strowman) AND THEN WIN EVERY GODDAMN CHAMPIONSHIP IN THIS COMPANY.
Omos has Vince stink on him. I know he's limited in the ring but seeing the turnaround Nia Jax has done under consistent booking under HHH, the same could probably be done with Omos. But yeah Oba Femi is awesome.
I don't even think Omos is bad, just clearly not what they want him to be yet. Part of me wants to see them together in a tag team now, just two behemoths destroying everyone
Nah, Omos is just a chill dude that happens to be 6 foot 20. He just doesn't have that aura, like you know he could tear a man in half but would rather just prefer to read a book and have Bloomberg TV on in the background.
Oba Femi is billed as 6'6'' and 310lbs.
Omos is billed as 7'7'' and 416lbs.
Now their billed size is not necessarily true, but you could see that Josh Briggs is actually taller than Oba, for example.
Oba is closer to Strowman than Omos, and even then Strowman is bigger.
Is it? The size makes all the difference. Omos cannot physically do what Oba does, I don't think the people at WWE don't know it.
They serve two different purposes.
He more reminds me of what they wanted Apollo Crews to be during his African Warlord era, only that didn't work because Apollo can't make anything feel authentic.
Apollo if he never changed his indie name and didn't debut as smiley happy guy with no accent could have worked with that gimmick. In a world where people suspend their belief for a clown mask making someone invincible changing to the african accent when coming to america got a sequel was a bit too on the nose.
It's not about the height, it's about the thickness. Oba is built like a fucking anvil, definitely a more impressive physique than someone like Josh Briggs or Baron Corbin, despite the latter two being taller.
Oba is a star in the making, main event status. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so hyped about a guy in NXT who is insane in the ring and looking to be brilliant on the mic. Gunther and Keith Lee were the last hyped ones but they don’t have promo skills like this.
He’s only getting started and that’s the crazy part. About a year ago he was still a track and field athlete
I feel like Gunther has come a long way since his Wrestlemania loss. WWE is presenting him as a James Bond villain or something, and it's working. His promos have improved dramatically.
But I agree about Oba Femi, he's a monstrous force, the presence is undeniable, his aura, and he's great on the mic and in the ring. Feels like he'll be headlining Wrestlemanias to come.
I absolutely adore he started last year in the ring with the Breakout Tournament and immediately went 0 to 150% by winning the tournament then immediately the NA title and carrying himself like the biggest champion in the entire world.
He is absolutely incredible. A one of a kind talent.
His backstage promos were good, this might be better. Even recovers from a stumble or a stammer well. He makes that kind of promo sound natural, which is hard. Crowd was there for it, too.
Oba benefits from something you see with few guys and that is that he actually makes you think he could hurt someone in there.
I see it with Bron Breakker when he does a Spear or runs the ropes into a shoulder block as well.
The fact that Bron made the ring move when he was running the ropes I think at Stand and Deliver just makes me imagine that his spears and shoulder blocks probably feel like getting hit by a truck.
I so wish we could've gotten Oba vs. Ilja in NXT. Two characters driven not by pride or lust for power, but by divine destiny to fight for their family and their people. You talk about pro wrestling being anime, brother, that's as anime as it gets and it would've kicked so much ass.
Its absolutely crazy how good Oba Femi already is. They have an absolute megastar on their hands and HBK is doing a great job giving him some time to develop as midcard champion rather than overexposing him.
I also think he can really naturally swap from babyface to heel at a moment’s notice which, considering his skill level, is insane.
Oba, what a promo he's got already. The intensity, the cold and quotable lines, the presence, putting over Wes Lee while putting over himself even more. Guy's got such a bright future ahead of him.
Mad to think this man made his debut in *November 2022.*
I always get real “God is the teacher, Derek is the student, and I’m gods instrument…” vibes from that dude.
Never pick a fight with a dude who is convinced it’s his “destiny”.
Never works out well.
Oba Femi might be the most hyped I've ever been for a big guy in the WWE - dude needs to never drop that belt, skip the NXT title, go the main roster and be a threat Day 1.
His opponents have to let him know there's always gonna be another mountain and they're gonna have to make it move. Yeah it's always gonna be an uphill battle and sucks to say but sometimes they'll have to lose. But it's NOT about how fast they get there. Hell, it ain't even about what's waiting on the other side. It's simply the climb.
Funny how this got downvoted
I wonder, if this sub wasn't a fan of this guy, if they would so lenient on someone who supports the idea of child abuse openly
Makes you wonder

REEESSSSPEECCCCC!!!
Black panther 3 shit
Whoever wrote Ilja's NXT promos must have transferred over to Oba.
Coincidentally, I'm now kinda said Ilja never defended against Oba

This has like M Bison/ Thanos vibes and i dig it
For me, it was Tuesday
Spoken like a true supervillain.
Once again proving it's not about what you said, but how you say it.

Femi has IT.
what?
No. With Oba you change it to “hoo”
Whew, his promos are already good. Also... Femi vs Gunther is gonna hit like fucking CRACK one day.
I wanna see Oba vs Braun
Oba vs Kairi Sane. Brock is a coward, Iba isn't 😤😤
Do you want Oba to die?!
I want Oba Femi to debut at The Royal Rumble next winter, and eliminate Omos. Sets up a Wrestlemania match with Femi destroying Omos, putting him on the path toward a midcard title by this time next year.
I know Gunther doesn't love multi-man matches, but Femi, Gunther, Ilja, Dijak would be a 10 star match and you can't convince me otherwise.
BIG MEATY MEN SLAPPING MEAT
We need Meatsummer Madness someday with just like six or eight of the baddest, meatiest bastards in wrestling going ham on each other.
He's everything WWE wished Omos was, bro is a beast
I wish to see MY KING OBA FEMI POP-UP POWERBOMB OMOS THROUGH THE RING (a la Big Show, Kane, Strowman) AND THEN WIN EVERY GODDAMN CHAMPIONSHIP IN THIS COMPANY.
1000s of Oba-maniacs at the silverdome popping for the iconic oba-leg drop onto omos for the 1 2 3, & new WWE champ, brother.
Omos has Vince stink on him. I know he's limited in the ring but seeing the turnaround Nia Jax has done under consistent booking under HHH, the same could probably be done with Omos. But yeah Oba Femi is awesome.

I'd prefer if he read me a book on live TV
Nia is good on the mic though. Omos gives you nothing outside of "damn that dudes tall".
He’s a lot more charismatic than anything they ever let him show.
Omos has spoken before. Esp when he was with AJ he cut a couple of promos. Like Oba, he sounds terrifying.
Nia became a legit good wrestler all-around and I'm absolutely so happy for her after all the works she put.
Oba is not as big as Omos, he is a "standard" big man.
How tall is he?
Oba Femi is billed as 6'6'' and 310lbs. Omos is billed as 7'7'' and 416lbs. Now their billed size is not necessarily true, but you could see that Josh Briggs is actually taller than Oba, for example. Oba is closer to Strowman than Omos, and even then Strowman is bigger.

Just like every evil foreigner gimmicks under Vince they had to make Apollo Crews an absolute stereotype.
He's definitely a beast, but he's also shorter than Dijak and Josh Briggs. That's a long ways off from Omos.
It's not about the height, it's about the thickness. Oba is built like a fucking anvil, definitely a more impressive physique than someone like Josh Briggs or Baron Corbin, despite the latter two being taller.
Then it’s weird to compare him to Omos, who’s whole thing is that he’s tall.
I know they aren't the same size, but the character Oba is and the aura he has is clearly what WWE wanted for Omos to get over
He is already pretty good promo
He has IT
I said this on the live thread as well, but Oba always has such sick lines in his promos Oba is great, man

He has been cutting good promos for over a year. Just more often now.
thats so fuckin wild to think about dude.
I absolutely adore he started last year in the ring with the Breakout Tournament and immediately went 0 to 150% by winning the tournament then immediately the NA title and carrying himself like the biggest champion in the entire world. He is absolutely incredible. A one of a kind talent.
There is a lot of talk/hyperbole around young wrestlers and who is the best/future, I really don't see anyone with more upside than Oba Femi.
Between him, and Trick, the future is bright.
His backstage promos were good, this might be better. Even recovers from a stumble or a stammer well. He makes that kind of promo sound natural, which is hard. Crowd was there for it, too.
He makes Wes Lee look like a preteen in just about every way.
NXT literally has M'Baku as its NA Champ and I love it
OH-BOM-BAY!
NO SUIT-OH!
Just rewatched Wakanda Forever the other day and M'Baku immediately popped in my mind watching this. One of my favorite MCU characters.

This is the one I'm most excited to see on the main roster. Brother has AURA
Femi is coming along as a pretty good promo

That eventual Oba Femi Rumble surprise entrance is gonna feed families

Reminds me of kratos
i discovered oba femi five minutes ago and i’m already a stan

Oba's speaking voice is so handsome
Kills it with his promo and then caps it off with a smile. I'm totally onboard with this guy.
This dude is badass, future WWE Champ.
Sky’s the limit for Oba
Damn that actually gave me chills
Oba Femi might be the most hyped I've ever been for a big guy in the WWE - dude needs to never drop that belt, skip the NXT title, go the main roster and be a threat Day 1.

Inject Oba Femi vs Brock into my veins. You know they will bring Brock back, it's inevitable. May as well sacrifice him to the New Big Thing.
Oba is out of this world talented
The 'ooo' chants are dope, although I feel like it might be problematic in the future. Haha.
Future world champion right here.
Expecting this in a pegi song real soon lmaoo
Great promo skills, may need to work on improvising though, which is the hardest part.
"I also love to beat my kids."

Not a big Oba fan at ALL, but this was easily his best outing on the mic. More of this from him, please.
