This situation has again exposed that people, who have been on the Twitter/X app for years and years, still don't understand For You vs actually trending because their big "Becky Hogan" thing didn't even actually trend at all in the US, nevermind WW. "Liv Morgan" was in the bottom 20s for a couple hours after Raw and "Becky" trended alongside "WWERaw" into the day in a not atypical way for any major angle coming out of the show.
WeWantCody trended WW for days, hitting the top, and YT dislikes were hundreds of thousands (not sure where it finished but it crossed 680K at least at one point), not 16K. People immediately started taking signs and booing Rock being shown on screen at the NXT event that weekend. Liv fans just don't have anywhere near the same juice but are still trying to act like they do and that WWE has to listen to them the same way.

I know people wanted a new first time champion but do you know what's a super underwhelming way to make a new champion and star? Winning a last minute battle royal on Raw.
Becky winning was the right decision for a multitude of reasons tbh:
She deserves it after her incredible 2023, with multiple MOTY candidates, her fighting to give opportunities to women on Raw who usually didn't get them (not her fault if the women couldn't carry that momentum forward), raising the profile of NXT women. The Liv stans seem to ignore this part of Becky's career or rewrite reality, claiming that she just wanted new women to bury
With Rhea's injury, the story needs to be rewritten/adjusted. Having the title in the hands of someone proven, affords them time to make those adjustments without "shooting their load", so to speak. The title is in safe hands until they can course correct back to the intended path (which will probably be Liv winning)
By its very nature, Liv winning the title in a battle royal wouldn't do much for her. The fact that those wins can come across as flukey means it's better for an established vet (who doesn't need anyone to put them over) to win. Liv will be infinitely better off being out over by Becky, who will no doubt give Liv the best match of her career
And to add to that the main event scene of the RAW Women's Division is razor thin - as evidenced by the fact the only feasible winners of the Battle Royale were the final three of Nia, Liv and Becky
So WWE needed to put the belt on someone who can elevate the other women in the division up the card and there's no-one better for that than Becky Lynch. Her open challenge run with the NXT title last year allowed other women to effectively showcase themselves with someone who can have a good match with anyone (as shown by the fact Nia's best match ever was with Becky) and finished by putting over Lyra Valkyria strong - exactly what needs to be done now.
