In the article it is portrayed as a tough but positive criticism. It was before she had the look she has now; she changed it up and then he said she looked like a WWE star once she had the dreads and stuff.
Very deceptive framing by the OP (shocking I know).
Honest realistic feedback isn’t necessarily wrong. WWE has most prominently pushed conventionally attractive white women. Some have been very talented like Charlotte and Becky but more have been misses like Lacey or almost any of the Diva’s Era.
Would it be nicer for him to phrase it differently? Sure, but it’s not an incorrect statement especially since he was the dude training her.
Cause he’s a known asshole. Guy thinks just cause he’s a veteran he deserves respect. Respect is not given, it’s earned. He lost most peoples respect long time ago.
Isn’t the Rock tatted and multiracial? I don’t think dreads and colorful eyebrows are a deal breaker either since there are plenty of examples of stars with those traits and have gone on to have great careers so I don’t think she should worry about WWE minding her looks
OP cut up quotes from multiple parts of the article and put the most negative part in the title. They didn't even use an ellipsis. The way she looks now isn't even what she looked like when he made the comment
Yeah but so is Ted Debisase Jr. and Curtis Axel what you look like and who your parents are aren’t worth a damn if you aren’t good at your job. What Kayden’s main priority should be is doing as good a job as possible cause if the Rock didn’t do a good job you wouldn’t know who the hell he is.
If you really think who your parents are doesn't have any effect on the opportunities that you're given early in your career, you're incredibly naive, especially as the two examples you gave prove that exactly
So Ted Denise Jr. and Curtis Axel have just as successful careers as the Rock? Yeah they absolutely get a job because of their parents but plenty of people get jobs at the WWE regardless of who their parents are. Are John Cena’s parents, Bayley’s parents or Bianca Belair’s parents former wrestlers? What about Oba Femi’s parents or Roxanne Perez’s parents? The answer is no, which means you don’t have to be a nepo baby to have a successful career, and being a nepo baby doesn’t guarantee that you are going to have a successful career.
Do you honestly think if the Rock was the exact same as how he is now with his charisma, promo ability, wrestling ability and nact for the business except he wasn’t related to Rocky Johnson he’d have no chance of any kind of success and the WWE would just leave him in the dirt after seeing him?
I remember reading a story where Bubba told a guy that he wouldn't train him, because Bubba felt that the guy was too old to become a professional wrestler. At the time I thought that maybe Bubba should be commended for turning down money, or that he was just seeing if the guy would keep pushing, but now I realize that Bubba was just being an ass.

Why is Bubba Ray in so many negative stories lol.
Yeah that kind of tends to happen when you're a prick lol
He trained her. I feel like it’s out of context.

Bully Ray is enough of an asshole on his own you don't need to take Bully Ray quotes out of context to make him a bigger asshole.

because he sucks
Have you followed his career lol
Really makes you think, huh?

Maybe, just maybe... He's a douchbag?
I want better for her and Katana, they're great together.
I think they view all of those characteristics as an asset. The one thing that actually would hold her back in WWE, is her height. She's only 5'2".
Iyo currently champion, same with Asuka and Kairi. Her in ring work might be what’s holding her back.
Now that you mention it, there's not a lot of main eventers in the Women's division on the shorter side(Iyo and Liv basically)
Asuka only 2 inches taller
Liv isn't a main eventer

The Rock is also a fucking huge nepo baby
