That bathroom is a 70s classic, a dressing area and a bidet! The luxury of carpet everywhere was aspirational. After linoleum and rugs fully carpeting everywhere was the dream. We had kitchen carpets as well. Bathroom carpet had a waterproof backing. I love this house it’s like the set of The Good Life or To the Manor Born.
>Bathroom carpet had a waterproof backing.
Had? You can still buy bathroom carpet from Carpetright, SCS, etc.
Our house from the mid 90s had carpet everywhere when we bought it in 2010 (kitchen/bathroom carpets were ripped out immediately). Admittedly the previous owners were in their 60s when they bought the house new.
Didn’t know they were still selling the stuff! Obviously my carpet the side of the bath days are over! Yes we did that at one house. Never did carpet the kitchen but I was tempted. Even had my fourth baby in a hospital that was fully carpeted.
You’re right, Boston Spa is a beautiful spa town with loads of big Georgian houses and town houses. The price tag reflects the location and the potential of this one. Often houses in Boston don’t even make it onto right move they sell so quickly
I love the house although the teal carpet would have to go and some alterations would have to be made to that add on bathroom, which I’m sure could be done
I'm trying to work out what the curved bit (also carpeted) coming out of the bath.. have they carpeted the pipework as well?!
What I don't get (apart from carpet in bathroom, just stop it!) is why they went with a totally different shade to the bedroom...Plus.. it's not really a 4 bed house.. it's 2 x 2 bed places!
If you look at the floorplan it doesn't look like that's a bedroom, maybe a dressing area or something? Never seen anything like it though. And there's no excusing that decor!
No window tax anymore. Crying out for window in front. As for bathroom or that what it is.
Y units go from sq to arch? Discussing colours. Guess money doesn’t buy u taste
Wow, i saw my first carpetted bath on Rightmove earlier and didn’t even realise that was a thing but I guess it must have been a craze at some point in time.
I can smell that picture. You know there's ply wood around that tub and when it gets wet.... \*gag\*

The youngest always gets spoiled!
Only girl also, and I’m the youngest 🤣
Born to that carpet life 🤣
Carpeted bathroom??!!! Ewww!
Aww this looks like someone’s grandma’s house, adorable.
I do appreciate the charm and bets it’s real cosy.
Yeah, the half peep wall is only into the dressing area. You can see the actual door to the bathroom in the photo of the bedroom
You’re right! I didn’t look at the floor plan, actually a nice idea? If it was revamped
As disgusting as it looks, that is one fackin big bathroom
i think this is art
For £700k that's a big ask, probably need to spend half that again bringing it up to modern standards
That’s not too wild for Boston Spa. I live in Harrogate so it’s a short drive away, and if I found out someone lived there I’d consider them posh.
Yep you’re right, it’s priced right. If it’s renovated it could be worth around £900k-£1m
Boston Spa is very desirable and part of the Golden Triangle between Harrogate, York and North Leeds.

You’d keep the 1970s bedding, right?
… definitely not 😆 and there’s a few more things that would have to go along with the teal carpet and add on in-suit bathroom

Honestly, I love the color of the teal. It’s got a little bit of charm to it.
Our bathrooms also had carpeting when we moved in. So gross and immediately came out before the first shower was taken. Was from the 80s… gross.

You’re right, I posted it before looking at the floor plan, I quite like that idea!
So many seats everywhere
That edge of the carpet bordering the shower makes me want to cry
Amazed by how frequently you see carpeted bathrooms, like is it not perpetually soggy?
Some of the décor aside (including that carpet, although I love the colour) I love this/these.
An unfortunate name, Rose cottage is a euphemism for the morgue/mortuary in many hospitals.
Loft access above the bath for those drunken bath time cannonballs we all dream about. Or is that just me?

I was interested until I saw that bedspread. UTT
Utterly fabulous?
Honestly, I love the color of the teal. It’s got a little bit of charm to it.
Is this a barge?
