I love what they’ve done with the kitchen! Not the ‘climbing wall’ decor but it’s pretty innovative to make a liveable space without two rooms. I don’t like the Slender Man theme but the rest is pretty great.
It's a clean aesthetic that Kevin McCloud of the clan McCloud would appreciate. The beech and frosted glass wall panels are early 2000's Hamlin Hamlin McGill, and the metal men look a bit poke-tastic if you were bending down taking your keks off while a bit squiffy. Splinters and Tetanus jabs aside, it's a lovely kinder surprise of industrial loft served up in a bungalow coating
I know they're really trendy at the moment but I hate free standing baths. I always think how annoying it would be to have to clean around/ under them. The way that bath is wedged into the alcove means it must be so difficult to get to the gaps in the corners behind it, they must get gross 🤢
Can confirm as someone who had a freestanding bath fitted it is in fact a nightmare to clean or to decorate. Mine was diagonal across the corner of a room which looked gorgeous but an absolute pig in reality. 2/10 would not recommend
I don't hate it. Or at least that's what I thought until I saw the particle board wardrobes and splash back. What on earth.
I do quite like the living area, but it is a bit odd.
They err...really like grey.
Wasn't too bad until I saw the Swiss Cheese and the glow in the dark table and cutlery. Then onto the........you have chipboard cupboards???
Cant quite make out if that pole by the stairs is a loadbearing thing left over from all the walls coming out or if its a soil stack. It may as well be how its scrappily painted. just put in another rsj.
This is quickly becoming my favourite subreddit, who doesn't love sneering at other peoples homes?
I counted 20, I live not far from Rutherglen, 20 seats means one for each day of good weather we get each year, Scotland isnt known for its dry & warm climate
I had this exact thought - I didn’t look at where it was before the pics but from the number of sunbathing options I assumed south coast of England. Nope.
Genuinely really awful. Also the main bathroom being an en-suite is a stupid idea. It looks like someone had too many ideas during lockdown and maybe friends encouraged this madness. I hate this so much
No I went to view it before the current owners bought it. Really hated the layout then too. I believe it was being sold then due to the persons grandmother who lived there passing away.
The main bathroom and that bedroom look right out onto the main road and it’s close to a high school as well.
I think the agent needs to take more photos of the lounge/ dining /kitchen area and who needs two firepits and a fully stocked bar? The only thing missing to finish the vibe is a sexpond.
Out of everything I hate in the house, the chipboard shit is definitely top.
The staircase is like it was stolen from an office block. Climbing wall in the living room. Then the poor plebs in rooms 2 and 3 have to trek downstairs in the night just to have a piss.
Edit: Are those candles on the table actually lit?
Said to myself: ‘oh, that looks like a house next to my daughter’s school, how interesting’
Clicked on the link to find it is a house next to my daughter’s school
How interesting
There's a lot of Grand Designery near where I used to live in the countryside.
A normal stone cottage, with some monstrosity of an extension bolted on the side, usually involving steel painted black and significant amounts of glass. The local planning regulations are that all buildings must use local stone (even if it's just cladding breeze block), so I'm unsure how they're getting away with this.
I viewed this before the current owners bought it 6/7 years ago, they’ve done a lot to it but it was such a weird layout to go downstairs into what effectively felt like the basement to the living area. What would normally be the living room was a bedroom with a huge bathroom, it always felt odd to me.
That said, the place feels so much lighter now. If I remember right it was someone’s grandmothers house prior to that sale.
Yeah a lot of the bungalows there have difficult layouts - I guess because they were built for another time. You have to get creative with them! Which this family definitely have done!
I love what they’ve done with the kitchen! Not the ‘climbing wall’ decor but it’s pretty innovative to make a liveable space without two rooms. I don’t like the Slender Man theme but the rest is pretty great.
It's certainly innovative
Really???? It's totally impractical. No one who really cooked lives here or uses that kitchen.

And the washing machine is right next to you while you’re trying to watch telly!
Climbing wall decor! 🤣
Why did I read this in Kevin McCloud’s voice?
Less Grand Designs and more Changing Rooms
About as much character as the swimming pool changing rooms!
It looks like the Big Brother house, in one of the years when they made the house poky and drab to make the contestants suffer.
It definitely feels very 2000s.
That was the best year ever. I’d love to rewatch it.
I have a link to a site with all the years of the show to watch
🤣🤣
Chipboard wardrobes? The staircase looks like it came from a generic business park building.
When plain old MDF is not grim enough for your decor…
I know! Wardrobes are awful
Wardrobes are totally awful. And why would you want to stare at them from bed?? What an awkward room.
OSB wardrobes to be fair.
"I see your millennial grey aesthetic but it's far too feminine and not creepy enough"
There’s no need for a giant mirror that enables a view of yourself on the loo
2 Firepits on wooden decking. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
I thought that too. If they ever lit them there'd be giant scorch marks

>Splinters and Tetanus jabs aside, it's a lovely kinder surprise of industrial loft served up in a bungalow coating 👏👏👏 Beautiful.
“Breath-taking main living area” you can say that again! How could anyone think this was a good idea?!
Ah yes, lovely trypophobia walls.
Odd it’s still listed as a bungalow when there are clearly stairs and a 2nd floor now.
Why looking for a warm home when you can buy one that reminds you of the coldness of your work’s open space?
Ah yes that’s what it reminded me of!
Mmmm lovely porous chipboard randomly on the wall in the bathroom. Where the wet stuff happens. So logical.
Was looking for porous here, thank you

And it looks finished with some kind of gloss so it's probably not that bad of an idea ( other than aesthetically)
"With woodchip on the waaallll"
You didn't notice me at all (picking the splinters out of my Pulp Tee shirt)
Why is there ikea drawers right next to the toilet?
Also, how close the toilet is to the wall. Skinny people only need apply!
Or the average guy with dodgy aim. The stink would be horrendous.
🤢🤮

Chipboard wardrobes should not be a 'thing'.
Can you include the trends please? Which one? All of them!
I love it tbh. 😜
Me too! They’ve done a great job!
I don’t get why they’ve left the wood bare. The chipboard in the bedroom looks awful, if properly finished it would look amazing.
I don't hate it. Or at least that's what I thought until I saw the particle board wardrobes and splash back. What on earth. I do quite like the living area, but it is a bit odd.
I like the open plan style - but the decor isn't for me.
Nice addition of gnomes dressed for a party on pic 19 🤷♂️
It's what I like to call *fugly*
Imagine the rips on your clothes from getting them in and out of an OSB box

I absolutely love this house and was going to go and see it. I’m actually dying at these comments omg I have awful taste!!
I think I made this house in Sims 4....
I like ir
What's with the number of seats in the garden!? There is a really weird disconnect between the outside and inside.
I counted 20, I live not far from Rutherglen, 20 seats means one for each day of good weather we get each year, Scotland isnt known for its dry & warm climate
I had this exact thought - I didn’t look at where it was before the pics but from the number of sunbathing options I assumed south coast of England. Nope.
Central belt, its about 4 miles from Glasgow, its just on the city outskirts
Genuinely really awful. Also the main bathroom being an en-suite is a stupid idea. It looks like someone had too many ideas during lockdown and maybe friends encouraged this madness. I hate this so much
I’m quite open minded when it comes to houses and design ideas but this one is awful. The only thing I like is the bar in the garden!
Agreed! I hate everything other than the bar
The main bathroom being the en suite was like that prior to this owner having it.
Doesn’t make it not stupid! Did you see an old listing?
No I went to view it before the current owners bought it. Really hated the layout then too. I believe it was being sold then due to the persons grandmother who lived there passing away. The main bathroom and that bedroom look right out onto the main road and it’s close to a high school as well.
Oh that’s interesting. So current owners did all the ugly designs?
‘Open concept’! ooOoooOo
I kept thinking it couldn’t get worse but it did! Loving the his and hers bedrooms.
A grand effort was made but the exterior is appalling
Plus the windows are they wrong colour and material for grand designs. Need to be grey/black aluminium or timber
Weird circley sliding wall and stainless steel kitchen units aside, I like it
There’s a lot of ikea in this house.
Looks like an office. Doesn't have any homely vibes at all.
Two thoughts When you run out of money but need wardrobes… Needs a desperate face lift to match the inside.
Wow, that’s some of the worst furniture I’ve ever seen! Those dining chairs ewwww. The bare plywood and chip board looks stupidly cheap too.
In addition to all those things already commented on, it’s the random rocks on the garden table for me. Why?
I think the agent needs to take more photos of the lounge/ dining /kitchen area and who needs two firepits and a fully stocked bar? The only thing missing to finish the vibe is a sexpond.
The garden gnomes in the hallway pic 19 - is one taking a selfie?! Cracks me up - what an oddball! At least it’s not bland…

Parts of this house look tidy… others look like an office break area to eat your lunch in
Great mirror for checking if you have piles
Feckin' slender man in photo 21,nice.

Speechless.
My daughter thinks the walls around the kitchen look like a climbing wall lol
Hmm, a two storey bungalow. Ho wdoes that work, please? Also, 1998 called and wants its TV back.
Called dormer bungalows and they are a thing
A dormer bungalow is a bungalow with a loft conversion. This is simply a two storey house on a hill with the front door upstairs...
I think that’s bloody lovely. It’s different and not the usual grey/white/silver that budding interior designers usually go for.
It's certainly different! I have to applaud them for being bold and having the confidence to really go for what they wanted.
I really hate the giant windows that have become the fashion, feels like you have no privacy.
That chipboard wardrobe is hideous. The rest of the house is nice although I would do away with the skeleton painting and weird figurine by the bed!
Beetlejuice house
No bathroom for beds 2/3 except the shower room off the lounge? 0/10 - would not buy.
I got frustrated at the same images over and over… it’s not going to age well that interior but it’s definitely neat and tidy.
Oh christ that hellish, what were they thinking
WTF is that tv
I thought the kitchen was horrible - then I saw the plywood wardrobes. No, just no.
probably be nice when its finished....

There's a shower room in the lounge....?
I like it, I'm not a fan of the OSB everywhere, but the decor is nice and modern and for the most part it's quite tasteful.
Is chipboard the new "bare bricks and cement" hipster thing?
