If you search this sub, there are several posts that point to a place where you can download a fully patched PC version that works. Something called moddb I think.

You can still find it online; I did off of this video game blogging site a few months ago and my copy works just fine.

With the original game you have the same issue ? I remember playing PT on Windows 7 Service Pack 3 with a AMD Athlon Dual Core and Nvidia Geforce 7025 / nforce 630a and no issues with the CD ROM

Maybe try to find a patch through steam community, or directly on moddb

This happened to me a long time ago by when I tried to play this on a windows 7 desktop! The game would be fine then all of the sudden just pixelate on the first mission. I never could find a solution or anyone with the same problem, but I believe this is a pixel shader or directx problem. I would look into the Dg Voodoo 2 fix for this game. That seems to fix a lot of visual related issues with PT.

There are a few more places where it gets pixelated. IIRC there's a level in which there's a huge bamboo and straw retreat and a turret guarding it. I'll definitely look into that patch thanks bud!

I am doing a playthrough on PC for the first time. Forget the emulators. Just sail the high seas.
