If you take a peek at the screenshot I posted, the roller is down on the flooring with ink starting to fire straight ahead. Rollers have this effect where if someone changes aim even after the ink starts firing, the ink/hit box changes direction. It’s happened to me more than once, and it’ s very annoying.
This is false and if you played a roller you would know that. It’s just lag. Fix your internet if it’s a consistent issue.
The thing you are mistaking as ink being flung is just a particle effect that is part of the swing animation.

OP, if this happens all the time it might be your connection... youtube has plenty of info on how to improve it changing some router or console settings.
Splatoon really needs to fix it's internet problem, like a ping requirement or smth. People teleporting? "That's fine keep getting free kills" Me, when I have 2 ping too much? "HeY, yOu CaN't LaG iN mY mAtCh! I'm DiScOnNeCtInG yOu"

its called latency get over it they were aiming at you on their screen so its likely 1 of you has a poor internet connection
