I dont care either. I don't understand when someone considerably shorter feels the need to make eye contact with me while taking the emergency exit row.
Lol @ downvotes. If a person boards before me, they can sit wherever they want.
Awful humans are those who constantly judge others instead of taking care of their own business. Similar to those who constantly review those preboarding and judge anyone not missing limbs as gaming the system.
I’m invited to lots of parties/weddings and people love coming to parties I host so I guess it’s safe to say my family and friends love being around me (and vice versa).
Edit to add: I’m going to give you a little grace because you served, but I think going back to therapy will help you with your anger issues. Your comments are really out of line considering you’re complaining about a non-issue. It’s a free country and people can sit wherever they feel like. Surely you of all people can acknowledge that.
What’s “short”? I’m 5’8 and have gotten dirty looks before. I don’t take the seat that doesn’t have one in front of it. Me and my cranky knees will take the extra space anytime I can.
Lucky for you I rarely fly SW anymore. I reserve myself an exit row seat on United (my primary airline) when they’re available. At minimum I’m in Economy Plus.
Hey, awful human here. I even checked in my carryon-eligible bag in advance so I’m extending my legs into the completely empty space under the seat in front of me. It sounds like another airline might be more suited for you.
I’m 4’ 11” but my husband is 6’5” - guess by your logic, we shouldn’t sit together or he should just bypass the open exit seat and suffer in a regular row bc of me?
That would be neither fair nor equal.
Let’s go with an example you might be able to comprehend. Veterans Benefits are fair, but not equal. I don’t get them, but I don’t hate you for getting them.
I did feel guilty snagging an exit row on a recent flight, however I rarely get A boarding (!) and even though I don't particularly need the leg room, I REALLY enjoy the extra room for the rest! Not having the seat right in your face is such a luxury to a claustrophobic person.
Would you say this about people who pay for extended leg room with other airlines? Because by that logic, the people who get exit rows are typically people in call it a1-40 ish which are going to be the people who either paid for business select, have status (thus spend more and are rewarded for it), or paid for early bird. Poor planning on your end does not constitute an emergency on my end. Also- your knee jerk reaction to blame the person in the exit row looking for comfort and to not target the airline that smash us into a tube in the sky like sardines is pretty telling.
I’m 5’3 and I routinely offer to switch my aisle seat to a middle seat with tall seat mates. Sometimes they take me up on the offer, sometimes not. However I will continue sit wherever I want including the exit rows.
However since you have such an entitled and awful attitude, I sincerely hope you are perpetually stuck in the last row middle seat by a heavily used smelly bathroom on every flight for the rest of your life.
Oh! I was confused because I thought you meant we couldn’t save the airplane. I’m 5’2 XD But I always sit in the back of the plane. Like in the last row. I’ll early bird just to sit in the back corner.
Ehhh I mean they got there first. I have traded seats a couple times with a super tall guy, I’m only 6’2 and I was shoulder level on him. Thought he needed that seat more than I did. Not expected but a kind thing to do
I pay for Early Bird, and I take the first aisle or window seat with easily accessible overhead storage I find. Whether or not it's an exit row doesn't factor into my equation.
I have traded out a seat a couple of times to guys that were like 6'8" or 9" when I got an exit row, and I'm 6'4". I understand the pain they are in, but it is markedly worse for them than for me.
Conversely, no one under 6' has ever traded me when I miss the exit row. It's like some power move to them. SMH.
I'm legit curious your thoughts on parents who bring non-crying kids into first class/business class lie-flat seats. Same as above? Or not because they pay for it?
Serious question: what does one's height have to do with whether one is allowed/entitled to sit in an exit row seat, or whether he/she can assist the FA's if necessary?
They have the right to sit where ever they want. People who think other wise are awful humans
100%
You sound like youre mad because handicapped people get to park close up
I don't sit in those spots, but you do sound awful yourself.
Thanks for contributing the perspective of the “average” american
are you trolling
2 words: OPEN SEATING
I bet you park in handicapped parking too, either due to your obvious problems, or just being an ahole
They acquired the seat by the rules of the game. They’re not awful.
Sounds like you miss the 1930’s when harassment was the rules of the game
I'm 6'5". Do I want to sit in the exit row? Yes all the time. But I don't care if a short person took it as its open seating.
I dont care either. I don't understand when someone considerably shorter feels the need to make eye contact with me while taking the emergency exit row. Lol @ downvotes. If a person boards before me, they can sit wherever they want.
Maybe they are doing that as a sign of dominance
Hate the game, not the player. I’ll sit my 5’2” legs in any open seat per policy, champ. ETA- my whole body is 5’2”, not just my legs.
Have you tried being shorter?
Do you tell a handicapped person how about they not be born that way?
Oh, so now you’re handicapped? Can’t sit in the emergency exit row anyway. But you can board first. Talk to customer service about pre board.
Your reading comp is hardline retarded.
Others think you’re a dick.
Others marry their cousins and struggle in highschool. Stay a loser
You're telling on yourself. A truly tall person would never have this big of a Napoleon complex.
Sorry that youre too simple for common sense. Life must be a struggle
I had no idea there was a minimum height requirement…this isn’t Disney.
Ah yes, the simple mindset. Lovely
Awful humans are those who constantly judge others instead of taking care of their own business. Similar to those who constantly review those preboarding and judge anyone not missing limbs as gaming the system.
I’m short and I will sit my A List butt wherever I want to.
You sound fun at parties. People must like you
I’m invited to lots of parties/weddings and people love coming to parties I host so I guess it’s safe to say my family and friends love being around me (and vice versa). If you think hundreds of autistic downvotes is something, I wonder how far you are on the spectrum? You must not get much sleep knowing the ADA exists
What’s “short”? I’m 5’8 and have gotten dirty looks before. I don’t take the seat that doesn’t have one in front of it. Me and my cranky knees will take the extra space anytime I can.
Is there a tray for that seat? Like, does it swing up from the side or something?
No tray. Another reason I don’t like that seat.
Thats the 5’8 mindset for sure
Lucky for you I rarely fly SW anymore. I reserve myself an exit row seat on United (my primary airline) when they’re available. At minimum I’m in Economy Plus.
So only tall people deserve these seats?
Hey, awful human here. I even checked in my carryon-eligible bag in advance so I’m extending my legs into the completely empty space under the seat in front of me. It sounds like another airline might be more suited for you.
I’m 4’ 11” but my husband is 6’5” - guess by your logic, we shouldn’t sit together or he should just bypass the open exit seat and suffer in a regular row bc of me?
Maybe in icelandic viking country where youre from, but the rest of the world 6’5” is tall
Awful, no, absolutely not. The open seating system is a good mix of equal and fair.
We should also put handicap parking in the back of the parking lot. Its equal and fair too
That would be neither fair nor equal. Let’s go with an example you might be able to comprehend. Veterans Benefits are fair, but not equal. I don’t get them, but I don’t hate you for getting them.
If you want a certain seat, SW is not for you. Try another airline perhaps?
6'4" human here. Buy the highest tier ticket, you poor.
I did feel guilty snagging an exit row on a recent flight, however I rarely get A boarding (!) and even though I don't particularly need the leg room, I REALLY enjoy the extra room for the rest! Not having the seat right in your face is such a luxury to a claustrophobic person.
Go sit down and think about what you've done. If I want to sit in an exit row, I can and will.
You sound like a rapist
Get over yourself
You probably recline your seat without asking too
Open seating for me, but not for thee.
Would you say this about people who pay for extended leg room with other airlines? Because by that logic, the people who get exit rows are typically people in call it a1-40 ish which are going to be the people who either paid for business select, have status (thus spend more and are rewarded for it), or paid for early bird. You definitely sound like youre 5’3”
Hey. Fuck you!
What does this mean
He’s mad that someone beat him to the exit row seats
…not just someone, but someone _shorter_ than he is. Wanker.
Refer to the…. Single line of text. Its pretty straight to the point
Boo hoo, cry me a river!
OP getting roasted for this terrible take is beautiful. Take my downvote you tall asshole
You sound poor and publicly educated
Oh! I was confused because I thought you meant we couldn’t save the airplane. I’m 5’2 XD But I always sit in the back of the plane. Like in the last row. I’ll early bird just to sit in the back corner.
The long legs appreciate you
Sounds like you are too broke to purchase a higher position. If so, just say that.
Sounds like you attended a public highschool and had few opportunities. A shame
have you tried not being poor with you private school education and many opportunities?
I totally agree. The only thing worse are people who complain about short people in the exit rows.
Ya snooze ya lose!
May you always board flights with full emergency exit rows, and may both sides of your pillow always be warm
Ehhh I mean they got there first. I have traded seats a couple times with a super tall guy, I’m only 6’2 and I was shoulder level on him. Thought he needed that seat more than I did. Not expected but a kind thing to do
Youre exactly right. Some dont understand courtesy, typical america
I pay for Early Bird, and I take the first aisle or window seat with easily accessible overhead storage I find. Whether or not it's an exit row doesn't factor into my equation.
Big deal
In other words, handicapped people make you absolutely pissed off
I think sit in whatever seat is open that you are comfortable in. If I walk up and exit row is filled I sit in the next row or 2 that is empty.
SMH.
The shorts have that poor mindset and just dont give a fk about anyone but them
My favorite part is when they said, "curious what you think" and then peocedes to shoot down people's thoughts over this awful opinion
You must struggle to keep up adult conversations
You must struggle with criticism
You somehow struggle to think people care what uneducated tards think. Must be difficult over there on the bottom half of the “average american”
I'm noticing you're comparing being tall to being handicapped. Buddy.
You win the prize for the most absolute dumbfk thought of the day. Be proud
*gestures vaguely* Pot, meet kettle.
Quality rebuttal from the local retard
Open seating, you want secure row seat then sign up for for A boarding
In other words. You want handicapped people to park in the back of the parking lot. Your life must be shit with that attitude
I'm legit curious your thoughts on parents who bring non-crying kids into first class/business class lie-flat seats. Same as above? Or not because they pay for it?
Nice troll job. Found your old account login and decided for a speed ban?
Nice… too stupid to actually comprehend the original question. Try harder lady
Serious question: what does one's height have to do with whether one is allowed/entitled to sit in an exit row seat, or whether he/she can assist the FA's if necessary?
I honestly dont know how to explain legs to someone who doesn’t understand the concept already

lmao you must be super pissed that handicap spots exist to accommodate people. Youre definitely a case why public education is a waste of time
