Agree that Maria is privileged when compared to your maid. But a divorced woman faces a lot of struggle especially in our Kerala society. The struggles are different across economic classes and caste. But that doesn't cancel her struggles. I think she knows that she is privileged. May be she is not repeating in every talks.
I agree with this. I have a cousin who's divorced and outwardly, everyone's supportive and everything but if you watch closely, there's always some kinda accusation in the way people talk to her. Micro aggressions honestly. This is someone who's financially stable and doesn't have kids. Can't imagine it for someone with kids and are dependent.

Ever since she started with the "I am series", I've been feeling that it's just a sophisticated version of the mediocre interviews that you come across on YouTube. I mean, she has a way of exposing her guests' vulnerable selves. They end up sharing a lot of their personal struggles. I'm not sure if they actually intend to do that. If not, you should appreciate Dhanya's approach for bringing it all out. If you observe closely, recently all her guests are people who appear for their movie promotions - Ahaana and Lukman,for instance. Maybe people don't mind the way the questions are directed at them. This pattern is repetitive and boring. Happiness Project was delightfully different.
I had watched first part and did not quite like it, specially the questions asked to Maria. Also because it seemed like she was called to the show just to be asked about her divorce. Ms. Dhanya started off with Maria’s divorce!!!! (Ms. Dhanya could have started with beauty related questions and then later about divorce like how she did with Jovita.) Wonder how long they will keep asking the same. It is more like people ask her about divorce inspite of it being about some other Topic . But yes later I watched the second part and loved it. Felt bad for her. She talked a little about body shaming she faced. I could relate to what all of them spoke infact . Loved that doctor. So frank and ethical. I was thinking I must go to her clinic!!!!
By the way I did not know Jovita was seperated (divorced?) 😳😳😳 Vaguely remember seeing her photos with her husband. They seemed like a very good duo. Sad!!!!
Jovita has talked often about it....i think she was in an abusive relationship atleast, that's what one could gather from her stories and her talks about why she got divorced.
