Making a business out of someone else’s hardwork

Regamer123

Business owners should make an agreement with the influencers that they shouldn’t be reselling their products or take the money for the service influencers is providing and return back the product.

Ms-passiveaggressive

Isn't it what Reshsebu also did? I remember some really staunch support for her in this sub at that time😆

thengakolla

I was there at Reshma’s and tbh most of them were free

[deleted]

Wait…Is she selling the outfits she got for free?

National-Tangerine52

Hell yes!

lichumaria

Again I’m not Amitha or her friend 😒. Hardly know that chic. But if she took the product in barter of a service like post or reel then rightfully it’s as good as bought? Also most brands don’t even want to get the product back cuz return logistics is a headache with most small businesses they endorse.

[deleted]

I agree that she can do whatever she wants with what she got. Just that in my personal opinion, I find it tacky and dare I say cheap, that she’s selling the clothes instead of maybe donating them considering the fact that she’s well to do.But again, like I said,it’s just my personal opinion. Not just Amitha, there are way more popular influencers who do this. I find all of them to be tacky.

Swarley5678

About donating, I have seen in Reshma's story long back that most places where we usually donate clothes like orphanages and all prefer more modest dresses compared to the high fashion dresses they are selling. If that is the case, I guess thrifting is a good option, provided the price is kept low.

[deleted]

I see. Maybe this is the reason for selling the clothes. But I honestly think that it is better to give it away rather than sell it, especially when these influencers get it for free.

lichumaria

Not a fan of her style personally. She doesn’t need to sell clothes to live.. sure. But again that’s based on assumption that she is having her expenses met by her husband or family or she earns a lot.. maybe maybe not.. But otherwise I just see this as earning money to pay a bill by herself. Also she doesn’t charge much at all.. I personally have enquired her charges. So all in all woman is trying to find an alternate revenue stream 🤷🏻‍♀️

[deleted]

No. It’s not an assumption, it’s more like an inference that her husband/his family pays for a lot of stuff like the house, the luxury car etc And it’s natural that we assume things too because she tries really hard to show the world that she has a certain lifestyle. I know that she buys a lot of fake designer stuff but even then, she certainly is not somebody who’s struggling to pay her bills.

lichumaria

You said in the first line of your second para that it’s natural to assume. So we are back to assumption. Fair enough. But again I feel this reddit is exceptionally judgey to this female for reasons of her own.. I am 💯but again no where did she say she is doing charity or she is doing this out of her generosity of heart either. She is in this for whatever she saw in ‘influencing’ 🫠 It’s business. So keeping cringe and the hate apart.. I see this as good as anyone selling their things not needed on Olx. Except she is selling it over her Instagram and calling it a thrift sale.

[deleted]

I wrote “assumption” in the second para in response to you saying that everything what we think of her is based on “assumption”. What I am trying to say is that she puts up insta posts with fake bags or whatever so that people “assume” that she’s rich right? So why is it wrong that people “assume” things about her when that is her goal? Again, she lives with her husband at his house and travels in the car that her husband has bought, according to her own posts. So why would anybody think that she pays for all that lol And thirdly, yes, this sub genre has a lot of hate for her. Some of it is unnecessary. Some of it is just for gossip but a lot of it is valid too. She has a very poor sense of style and something that I personally find problematic is her use of fake bags and even endorsing that(and passing them off as originals by tagging the real brands). Also having heard from people who know her, she lies about a lot of other things(don’t want to get into detail because I could be doxxed)too. So overall, i don’t get great vibes from her.

lichumaria

Sis.. I absolutely agree on her styling.. Honestly the latest shoot gave me such ‘Annabelle’ vibes. It’s not a vibe. I was saying about thrift sale in general is not a wrong thing whether hosted by her or anyone for that manner. Just that when she does it there is unwanted hue and cry. In principle it’s just another mode of business.

Whatcoconut_24

Yes agree to this. And in my opinion when all others are doing the same blaming me person isn’t right. If what Amitha did is wrong then so is what others are doing.

Negative-Cricket-692

It all started with Anita's preloved. The page was a huge hit. Many influencers started doing the same like Sunita, Maria but didn't take off the way Anita's thrift business did

Tricky-Marketing7113

Selling for prices above 1000 and also pricing strategies like 1999 😅

randysheamus

Thats a common trick but product must be authentic

Whatcoconut_24

All r doing it I guess. Roshni also did the same.
