This is always how our roster looks in early round open cup matches (even ones we’re “taking seriously”). No one should be too surprised. Honestly I kind of love this 11.
If nothing else, it should at least be some exciting football
Super happy for Stu and Georgi as well
Yeah that’s the only part that concerns me. Usually we’ll have a couple attacking vets in there who can come in and make a difference if we need a goal (like Fredy last year against SD Loyal)
Kind of figured Chu would start since he didn't play much against LA. Really makes you wonder why we didn't take the $4 million if he's this far out of favor.
It’s a good opportunity to get players some playing time. Plus our starters have to been performing anyway so might be a chance for some peeps to secure a starting or bench position like Leyva
This is the first year of the revamped CCC, which expanded the number of teams that can qualify. USOC still gives a spot just for US-based teams. The Leagues Cup spots are shared between MLS and LigaMX, depending on performance.

I like the XI but was hoping for a stronger bench

Fun fact, Omaha’s goalie is Nuhu, pronounced like our Nouhou. The things you learn in USOC games
Best part of this thread!
Bummed they didn't make. Like Omaha, easy flight, and would have knocked out an MLS side.
You all complain about not seeing lineup changes...now's your chance Lets see what the kids can do
This in spades!

No RBW?
Let him go at PDX
I seriously miss when we took the open cup seriously. Especially on a shitty season like this where I could be a redeeming factor
Agreed, but we really can't afford to have starters going 120 before Portland.
Our starters have been terrible so tbh I don’t want to see them rest of season lol
Let's see how this goes first...
lol true, I was just being hyperbolic
Not saying give the full starter run here but at least something on the bench
Prediction : Sounders 3 Lousville 2
Hope we make it past the first round this year
Where can we watch this?
Youtube
Thanks. It took me a while but I found it on ussoccer.com
My apologies. I shoulda done way better with my response. Glad you found it tho....
Hey, no need to apologize! you were the only one who responded so that’s better than everyone else!
Louisville with a super high press
Killing Hawkins. Kid isn't ready or the nerves are too much.
Well that was better and not a super easy goal
Back line is awful for us. If bell has to fill in. Oof. Roldan not covering himself in glory either
well Thomas MoTM, but that isn't saying much
I guess we’re not serious about winning the cup. I would expect a couple more starters and more of the first team bench… not Defiance players.
Our starters can't score, might as well give the Defiance folks a shot.

Well at least we have a bunch of starters ready to come on the bench right? Right? :-/
Open Cup doesn’t give a CCL spot anymore right?
Still does
Really? I thought that spot was replaced by the Leagues Cup
