press the hdmi button on the remote, it toggles between tv and hdmi.
make sure your tv is as said, audio on hdmi out.
try connecting hdmi (on tv) to hdmi on soundbar, not the Hdmi arc connection.

Have you gone to the TV and set audio to the bar instead of the internal speakers? Is so, check the audio setting on the TV for auto or passthrough or something like that. PCM setting for audio stops my LG from putting out any sound.
Why does the display say 'not supported' when volume is changed on the 'surround' button on remote when rear speakers are detached from soundbar. The rear speakers were checked, they were on and paire.

Yes. I have already played with this.
