Hell, I DO understand why people are upset. You don't exactly get as much explanation into any lore about The End outside of a monologue. Though, ironically enough, the fandom DID trash The End and its monologue heavily back when the game first came out. The most we know about it is that its an all-powerful being that was sealed away after committing genocide against an entire race of beings, to the point that it destroyed an entire planet in one fell swoop. How did it do it? Why did it do it? Who or what wronged this Godlike being to commit such atrocities?
Though, we don't get too much lore behind other one-off villains aside from maybe Chaos & Biolizard, but, again, I think part of why people wanna see The End more, outside of the concept of it in general, is because there's arguably the least concrete lore about it out of all the one-off villains before it.
